Engine shuts off instantly without warning while driving at various speeds. Won't start back up for several hours. When trying to restart, starter turns but seems no gas is going to engine. Truck only has 39K miles. When I walked away from the truck the auto starter tried to start it on it's own.
While driving on highway check engine light came on, fuel gauge went to empty and low fuel flashed across dash. Took vehicle to local dealer after researching on internet to find out it was a common problem which has not been addressed by Dodge/Ram. Dealer advised that the fuel level sensor had failed in the fuel pump assembly. The fuel pump assembly had to be replaced because it could cause vehicle to shut down because fuel pump malfunction
When filling the truck with fuel cann't remove the gas nozzle. Have a hard time every time I fill my truck. Some has to help me. Is a recall on the filler hole.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was malfunctioning and not provide correct fuel readings. Towbin Dodge (275 auto mall dr, henderson, nv 89014, (702) 558-3800) was contacted and scheduled a service appointment. The dealer did not know if the repair would be covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 54,870.

About 4 weeks ago the check engine light came on. The code reads as fuel temperature sensor. After the recall for the tailgate, my truck tailgate has opened twice while driving. Prior to the recall zero.
2015 Ram 1500 with 55,555 miles. The fuel sensor fail (P0463). This occurred first while driving 55mph with just over 3/4 tank. Then again a few miles later. It now shows 'fuel sensor fail' any time under 3/4 of a tank. But works when at a full tank. I now must use my trip mileage to estimate when my fuel is low. I'm glad I got the extended warranty!
Fuel sensor fail warning comes on. When I fill my tank it is fine until appx 50 miles while driving my fuel gauge drops to empty. And the check engine light stays on now. I never know how much fuel I have. So I ran out of fuel yesterday on the fwy and I almost got killed by several 18 wheelers. I hurt my back pushing it.
55K miles on truck. Engine light came on. Pulled error code P0463 which indicated an issue with fuel level sensor. Light went out after a few engine starts. Today the engine light comes back on, fuel gauge goes to empty (even though it has 3/4 of a tank, and a fuel level sensors failure message displays on the dash. An internet search found that this is a huge problem with the 2014+ Ram. The fuel sender wears a line on the sensor and the contacts not longer make contact. This needs to be a recall. The fix involves draining the tank, pulling the bed on the trunk and replacement of either the complete fuel pump or the fuel level sensor. Cost estimates are $575 and on up. This is ridiculous for a truck that's only 3yrs old and 55K miles. I have a 1979 Mercury bobcat and the gas gauge still works on it. This is just a poorly designed part that causes premature failure.
The fuel sensor goes out. It seems fca knows of this but not doing much to fixing it. Complaints on utube also. It won't start in self-starting, fuel gauge stays on empty, and maintains a engine problem. Can run out of gas on the highway if not fixed. Can cost up $1000. It happened at 36, 499, just over the warranty.
Continue to receive check engine light code P0463 high level output fuel sensor. Fuel gauge does not change and works correctly. Should not have to pay $734 to $1400 to fix this sensor problem. // front park assist sensor broken. One sensor broken but fails the other sensors installed. Should have to pay $765 to replace one sensor and paint to match the front bumper.
Am getting a P203E error message. Took it to dealer. There is a defective level sensor located inside the tank. Problem is its a sealed tank with no access only way to fix is to replace the entire tank, pump and sensor. Very bad design flaw. $2600 to replace. Message is saying engine will fail to start after 500 miles. The def pump is working correctly but the engine thinks its almost empty.
Twice with in a period of three weeks the same issue/failure has occured. "service electronic throttle control". both times the issue occured during rush hour traffic, at freewat speeds, while driving on a freeway. Bith occurences resilyed in total loss of acceleration. I was left with limited ability to manuever on the freeway, to the right lanes, as well as limited ability to maneuver and avoid traffic from behind, as well to switch lanes to exit the freeway safely. Once exited he vehicle would only reach a top speed of 39mph. Bith times the dealership reported the issue as an egr valve problem.
When coming to a stop, vehicle fuel shifts in tank forcing vehicle unexpectedly forward under braking. If unprepared for the shift, which only happens under braking when the truck downshifts, the truck will overpower the currently applied brakes taking more time to stop. This can result in a collision with a stopped vehicle or object if the driver does not apply harder braking.
Ecodiesel truck for the past 6 months shuts off randomly while driving, starting from a stop and when idling whenever fuel tank reaches 1/4 full or less. Truck is difficult hard to start when at 1/3 fuel level. On June 28th 2018 after truck shut off on freeway brought it to the dealer and I was told there is nothing wrong and I need to keep the fuel tank greater than quarter tank fuel to prevent the truck from shutting off while driving. This is not a solution and it's very scary to be driving with a large trailer and your truck shuts off on the road.
P0299 under boost codes. After being thrown into limp mode and almost getting me and my family killed I got my Dodge ecodiesel to the dealership. Said its a software issue and there is no fix. Was told to that its fine after they just cleared the engine light. Great customer service!! just send them back out in the death trap.
Eco diesel engine has been serviced three times for "electronic throttle control" failure. Once idiot light comes on truck loses all power. Currently in dealership to be serviced and I'm being told that Chrysler is unaware of a current fix. The first time in was told that a hose had to be replaced. Second time that it was a programming update, now they don't know.
While pulling into traffic the truck suddenly stopped without any warning, I lost my power steering, power brakes as well as the ability to have power to the engine. I tried to start the diesel engine, but the starter just tried starting it for approx. 20 seconds, I did not have the ability to turn starter off since it is a push button start and it finally timed out. I waited approx 5 min. And was able to get it restarted, the check engine light came on and I drove it to the dealer. The mileage was approx. 36,100 miles. I had to keep my fingers crossed hoping it would not die on me as I drove about 5 miles to the dealer. My greatest concern is the safety issue of complete loss of power and what may happen if you were on a hill or going around a sharp turn where the steering and brakes systems would not operate properly. My truck has an ecodiesel engine. The dealer told me the truck ha dmultiple problem codes on the computer analysis. They told me the problem was caused by loose pins in a connector and a loose ground wire. I never had any problem like this and the suddenness of this problem was scary.
