Truck died (stopped) completely crossing a highway and couldn't move it from oncoming traffic without disabling electronic gear shift manually. No prior indication that there was an issue. It just stalled.

The contact owned a 2015 RAM 1500. The contact stated that she observed that oil was spotting her driveway intermittently. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact checked the engine compartment and observed that the coolant reservoir fluid was very dark-colored. The contact observed that there was engine oil in the coolant reservoir. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed that the oil cooler failed to cause coolant to run through the entire engine system. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,855.

The vehicle has 58,000 miles on it. The vehicles has developed a manifold exhaust leak on the passenger side causing exhaust fumes to enter the cabin. Multiple online complaints have dubbed the issue the hemi tick. With so many vehicles exhaust manifolds failing and allowing exhaust fumes into the cabin I-??m requesting a recall to have Chrysler repair at no charge to their customers an ongoing issue with their exhaust manifold leaks that could potentially cause harm or death to the occupants in the vehicle. I also have a 2010 Chrysler town and country with the exact same issue as my 2015 ram 1500.

A warrantied part that was previously tried to fix my guess is prior to warranty due to the emissions lying from FCA and resulting ecodiesel settlement. So I purchased without that information being disclosed to me and know they are refusing a warrantied repair on the emissions component. Even thought the settlement covers said part.

I have yet to have this issue, but by how it handles anymore it may be soon. But I've seen a lot of people having to replace their entire top end of their engines do to the mds system. The system will shut off some of the cylinders. The mds system that chrysler puts on these trucks causes oil to be shut off to the lifters. Due to the lack of oil this causes major repair issues that keep the truck from running, such as cam shaft failure, and valve failure. If there was to be an mds failure when someone is driving it could cause harm to them and possibly other people because they would lose power to major components such as power steering. This could be a liability since I'm sure there have been several engine replacements on record with them that's under warranty and that's not including not under warranty.

1) engine 2) yes 3) No 4) Police and fire chief...waiting on Insurance 5) electronic throttle control error light - repaired 1/20/22 driving home from work (about 35 mile drive) and 2.5 miles from home - engine made a LOUD/LARGE pop and the engine died....drifted to side of road where the inside immediate filled with smoke. Got out and the engine was on fire and within a matter of minutes the entire front end was ingulfed in flames. I find it interesting that I found and article from Ram "Ram Recalls 108,000 EcoDiesel Pickup Trucks over Fire Risk - 2014-2019 trucks...out truck is a 2015 Why we never informed of this potential deadly issue" My husband could have been killed as quickly as this all happened, and wiht no prior warranty, and for it to fully engulf so quickly https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a29622403/ram-1500-recall-ecodiesel-pickup-trucks/"fbclid=IwAR2_75MVCiq4C8Ab_ANM7XV3JNhbTGuM6UNSGTdyCM62tRMG9eLeFKemlmc#:~:text=Fiat%20Chrysler%20Automobiles%20(FCA)%20has, or%20any%20gasoline%2Dpowered%20trucks

Started have a ticking sound coming from engine compartment that will go away when truck runs & heats up. Now getting exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment that goes away also then the ticking stops. Learned that this is a very frequent issue with the Dodge Ram 1500's Manifold bolts braking and the heat shield vibrating and along with exhaust leak. i can't comprehend why this wouldn't be a recall issue due to the harmful exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment. this issue need to be looked into, and research shows there have been an extensive amount of complaints which have not corrected the issue..looking for next steps to take to get this done

I bought this vehicle used in December 2019 from J.L Freed Honda in Montgomeryville Pa. Truck had about 78,000 miles on it. I noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine when it was started cold. Salesman advised that it was nothing to worry about and is common with RAM trucks until they warm up. Sure enough within a minute the ticking subsided. I purchased the truck and the ticking has continued when started cold. I recently had the truck inspected and was advised that the ticking was a manifold exhaust leak that will only get worse over time and is an emissions issue as well as a safety issue. I started to research the issue on line and found that the leak is caused by broken manifold bolts. It is well documented in online Forums for Dodge RAM and it appears to be a known issue with the Manufacturer but no resolution or recall has been issued. It has obviously caused much frustration for RAM owners of the 5.7 Hemi engine as detailed in the RAM Forum. The repairs are costly and with the problem being as common as it is with no resolution or help from the manufacturer, please review for possible recall.

My vehicle has been wait-listed for the EGR re-call parts since August 17, 2020. The dealer claims they receive 1-2 repair kits a week. Other dealers within 50 miles say the same. As a CA resident, I can now no longer register my vehicle until the VB1/NHTSA 19V-757 repair is complete. In CA, a smog test is required every 2 years, I have completed this (PASSED), but my registration, although paid in full, has been held pending the re-call repair. I currently have an appointment to hopefully secure another 60 registration extension, otherwise, my vehicle would be subject to citation and/or impound based on incomplete registration. The dealer informed me that I am approx. 3-4 months away in the que for repairs. Basically, I need relief from the mandate within CA based on the unforgiving and unrealistic policy that California Air Resources Board(CARB) and DMV have imposed and lack of oversite related to production/distribution of the re-call part kits.

Since purchasing the truck early this year, the engine has stalled while in motion 5 times. Each time I was able to shift into neutral and start the engine again, and stay in motion. I have taken the truck to 3 different mechanics and none are able to figure out the source of the stall. My safety is at risk because engine control is lost while in motion, if I had to accelerate to avoid collision I would be unable to. Although the engine has started again every time, I am afraid that one time it might not. No warning lamps have come on and no engine codes are available, the truck makes no record of the sudden loss of motive power.

Engine light on. Code P26AB. 3 way cooling valve malfunction. Valve controls heat to core and defrost. Replaced valve with OEM part bought a dealership. Valve working providing heat and defrost working. Engine light will not come off. Code erased and light comes back on. Dodge dealership unable to determine cause. Is the valve triggered by an emissions issue that will affect the performance of the engine" Is it a software issue" There-??s no recall on this issue and this is coming out of pocket. The vehicle is currently at a Dodge dealership and being inspected. So far there isn-??t a solution.

Three time now a high pressure fuel line has cracked. I do not have the lines but have two dealer documentations of the failure. I would say that our safety was severly compromised as there is no warning light and fuel is leaking like crazy. The failure was notice all three times by watching the fuel gauge move like a speedometer and then seeing a vapor trail out the side mirrors. The vehicle was coated in diesel fuel on all three occurances. Dealers do not seem to think there is anything wrong....just bad luck. First occurance was 05/15/2018 Second occurance was 09/17/2019 Latest occurance was 08/09/2021 Vehicle was taken in 10/02/2018 because the smell of diesel was in the cab of the truck. All occurance are documented by a dealer except for the first. A small shop soldered the line so we could get home.

Intake manifold melted and smoked. No flame seen but lots of smoke. Check engine light came on and service Electronic Throttle light came on. I have had 2 EGR coolers installed in this vehicle. This was close to being a engine fire. If this is not fixed soon some ones Ecodiesel will burn a family up. NTSB needs to recall these vehicles ASAP

This problem is common for the 5.7l V8 Hemi RAM engine, as reported by owners. It concerns bolts that hold the exhaust shield to the engine manifold. These bolts are known to break off, causing a tapping sound that is heard while the engine is cool, soon quieting down as the engine heats up. The bolt also holds the catalytic converter in place. If not repaired, it can cause the exhaust system shield to break loose entirely, and also possibly causing the catalytic converter to break loose. The failure is well known to owners, and is clearly documented in the following Youtube video: https://youtu.be/cL3xNoKs9E4 titled "The most common Hemi Tick"

I was driving on the Interstate when a electronic short warning light come on, I pulled over on the shoulder of the road and my engine quit and smoke started to come from the engine. I opened the hood and the engine was on fire. I emptied my cooler, all the bottles of water I had and Cokes and managed to put the fire out with out damage to any thing or any one other than the engine, windshield and hood. Dealer does not want to take responsibility, oil cooler seems to be the source of the fire. Oil sprayed on to the fire blanket on the hood kept burning after the main fire was extinguished. My truck was running fine prier to the fire, I have been waiting for a replacement tone wheel (recall # W58) for 6 months. I have had the EGR (recall #VB1) go out twice and fixed. Numerous electrical tail light shortages.

The tone ring of my vehicle has failed causing the crank sensor to not work as designed. This has put my vehicle into a no start condition. I was lucky that this happened just after I returned home instead of while in the 5 lane traffic I was previously in. Had this happened a few minutes earlier I would have been in an accident.

A couple of months after getting this used vehicle, the engine light came on with a message saying to check the fuel cap. Just to make sure that nothing else was wrong, we got a diagnosis from O'rileys & auto zone; the O2 sensors needed to be replaced. So we decided to switch out the O2 sensors and the fuel cap. Then after a week, the engine light came back on again. So we got another diagnosis to figure out the problem, it detected an evaporative emission system leak (very small leak). Then the following weekend, we took the vehicle back to the dealership to see if they can fix the problem. There was no mechanic on duty as their auto department was closed. Instead, we talked to the dealer who sold us the vehicle and he stated, 'you can delete the message.' He was no help at all and didn't bother to help fix the problem with this vehicle. In addition, he said that he knows a little about working on cars, how to use the handheld detector machine, and deleting the code would make it better? we wanted this vehicle to work properly not by 'deleting' (the message), but to figure out what is wrong and how to get it fixed. There is a waitlist for an auto shop nearby, due to this pandemic we have to wait to receive a callback for an appointment, and now I received a notification from credit karma stating to check on the recall for this used truck I own. Currently, the check fuel cap will not turn off and the engine light is still on.
