Tipm failed to work correctly resulting in no fuel pressure periodically and without warning. Engine would fail to run. Sometimes it would be ok and then sometimes the engine would not run. Ram said they would have to locate a new tipm. They didnt have one because of alot of these had failed, so theyre in high demand. Why arent these being recalled then??

Currently, when getting into vehicle we have been having issues starting the truck. It has even stalled out on us while driving on the interstate. Tood to dealership and due to the check engine light not being on they informed us they were unable to do the dionogstic test.

The tipm and fuel relay keep going out in my truck. It causes it to not start or the fuel pump keeps running and drains my battery overnight. I've contacted Dodge since they have recalls on other vehicles with the same problem, but they refuse to do anything about

Received recall notice that a steering wheel harness could rub and deploy the airbag at any time. I took the truck to hollywood Chrysler hollywood fl and they repaired and returned. When I arrived and for the preceding months prior my "fuel economy display" indicated my average mileage was 15.8 gallons per mile reasonably within the specs for this vehicle. Following the wiring harness repair the display now (and for more than 2 weeks ) reports 11.8 mpg. Somehow the repair altered the fuel usage of the vehicle. The dealer checked and said nothing was wrong. But my mileage has gone from 15.8 to 11.8. I'm not driving differently. I'm losing 30% of my gas and the vehicle is now under advertised specs of 14/20 mpg there is an issue they don't want to discuss. Can the NHTSA contact other owners with this repair and verify" can you help" thanks

My 2012 Ram 1500 has been in the shop seven times in the past year for electrical problems. The original problems were related to the PCM which would short out and cause my vehicle to operate in only one gear. This problem was fixed finally by replacing the PCM and various other parts. My truck recently had the engine temperature sensor, right headlight, and fuel pump control go out all around the same time which made it difficult for my truck to start and when it did start it sounded anemic and would often have alerts going off. The dealership claimed that the tipm was the cause of the fuel pump problems and now I am wondering if it is the route of all the other problems. This most recent repair cost me $1000 dollars and well over $100 in alternative transportation arrangements. My truck is only two and a half years old with 50K miles on it. I should not be having this many problems with this new of a vehicle. Chrysler and Ram have a well documented history of recent problems with the tipm across various vehicles and an investigation needs to be conducted and customers need to be compensated for the problems this part has caused.

At about 18000 miles on vehicle it suddenly stalled. Throttle body control light came on, RPM dropped to almost zero. Pumping gas pedal had no effect. Condition lasted about 15 to 25 seconds. Took truck to dealer and was informed it needed a throttle body software update. This was done. Also was performed again later. The stalling is intermittent some times not happening for weeks then again it will happen up to 3 times in a week.bit once stalled on my lady as she was crossing an intersection. Vehicle now has 77000 miles on odometer. I thought this just a hassle until about three weeks ago. As I was merging on to the interstate at about 65 mph in front of a big truck the vehicle stalled for a long period. The big rig was within a very few feet of my vehicle before engine started running again. Needless to say this scared me big time. This was when I started to look for someone to be in my corner on this vehicle has been serviced by Dodge dealership regularly since new. Each time I have reported stalls and at one time had a case opened with Chrysler. I am told they find nothing and they only have my word this is happening. This from dealer and Chrysler

Upon selecting transmission "D" option instrument panel indicated "6", drove to barn for horse feed. Needing to back up to fence, to disperse feed, transmisson selection of "R" was necessary. Using the brake pedal to regulate speed and no usage of accelerator pedal (as automatic transmisson vehicles will generally motivate when gear selection is initiated) "sudden acceleration" occurred causing damage to tailgate which was down. Brake pedal was pressed and vehicle was stopped. With brake pedal depressed transmisson selection "D" was initiated, in order to investigate damage, and once again with brake pedal used to regulate speed and no usage of accelerator pedal "sudden acceleration" was again encountered. Brake pedal was again depressed which stopped vehicle. No further occurrances were encountered that day. Weather was sunny and cool, high 40's, with dry conditions.

Engine idle spiked and dropped in rush hour stop and go traffic until the truck eventually stalled. I placed the truck in park and tried restarting. The "electronic throttle control" light illuminated in the dash. I turned the truck off and tried restarting. The starter turned over but the truck acted as if an element needed for combustion was missing. I turned my hazards on--as traffic was clearing around me. I tried starting the truck a dozen times before calling 911 (since I was in the middle of an interstate hwy). I texted a friend who said try starting with the accelerator pedal fully depressed--the truck started, but then went right back to spiking idle and the engine died again. At this time traffic was speeding by so fast on both sides that I could not exit the vehicle. State patrol came to push me to the shoulder. Truck started again on the shoulder after several attempts and I managed to move it about 50 feet before it died again. Had truck towed to nearest dealership where they informed me it may take up to 2 weeks before they can diagnose my truck. Still under warranty. Second time this has happened with this vehicle in 6 weeks. First time dealership drove truck 84 miles and returned it with a note saying they could not replicate the problem.
