I started to have trouble with the truck as it would not start in the mornings when I was trying to go to work. I replaced the fuel pump and it did not solve the problem. Shortly after that, my battery would be dead most mornings. I replaced the battery, but still the problems continued. The truck started to lose power while I was driving so I took it to a mechanic. He told me that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. I had to take it to the dealership I purchased it from to have it fixed. I have driven the truck less that 7000 miles since I purchased it. After speaking with fca, they say that they won't do anything to help out because the truck is out of warranty. I want to know why a recall was never put in place and enacted because I have seen thousands of complaints from people having the same problems. I would like to know why I'm having to pay $1794.03 out of pocket for the faults of the manufacturer pf the vehicle.

Fuel filler overflow when using automatic cutoff on gas station pumps. Significant amount of fuel spewing out. Appears to be a safety problem. Good video already on youtube. Happens almost every fill up. Widely reported on Dodge Ram forum affecting model years back to at least 2009.

2012 Ram 1500 VIN not included in recalled VIN had the front fuel strap pull out of frame and was not holding up the gas tank. I am unsure if this let loose when stationary or while driving. The front of the gas tank was close to the ground nearly making contact. I am reporting this because the dealership said it was not part of the recall group and there may be more VIN's that need recalled.

2012 Ram 1500 was repaired on 11/09/2018 due to 18V160000 frame bracket issue.. a few days after recall action occurred the engine check light came on signifying the gas cap was leaking and needed to be replaced. Dealer tech checked and said there was a small evaporation leak but the gas cap seemed to be sealing ok. Dealer tech reset the engine check light. Week later light came back on. I bought a new gas cap and replaced old one. Reset the engine check light. Message now back and I get no response from the dealer or Chrysler customer support. If this is an evaporation leak in this fuel system I would believe this is an environment issue. How many others have had this recall performed and face the same issue?

Fuel pump failing intermittently. Mechanic diagnosed a bad fuel pump relay on the tipm. I have found this is a very common problem and other Chrysler products with same issue have been recalled but the Ram trucks with the identical part and problem have not been recalled. Failure of fuel pump while driving could cause vehicle to stall with possibility of crash causing injury or death. So far the fuel pump failure has only happened when starting but I have read on forums of failure during driving.

I'm one of the few owners of a Ram 1500 with a common problem. The fuel pump relay. It has become a constant problem with Ram owners like myself. First it seems as if your fuel pump had gone out and your truck will not start. After contacting mechanics and paying around $900to replace it the problem stills exist. Then after sonorous attempts to find out what the problem is it's the relay that Ram dealers know all about. It cost around a$1000 or more to have it repaired. I've contacted them and made them aware of the problem that myself and others are experiencing and they say there's nothing they can do they will not recall the problem they know your going to have prior to purchasing the truck. Please help us to resolve this ongoing issue. Thankyou.

The contact owns a 2012 Ram 1500. While the vehicle was idling in park, the contact opened the driver's door. As he attempted to step out, his left foot slipped and caused him to accidentally shift the gear into drive while the right foot was off the brake pedal. The vehicle moved and crashed into a building. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was damaged, but still driveable. The vehicle was taken to snell motors (1900 madison ave, mankato, mn 56001, 507-345-4626) and the hood was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure only when the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 17V821000 (power train) and 18V160000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer stated that nothing could be done and that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. Front gas tank strap pulled out of frame of truck, gas tank was hanging about 3 inches from ground and grinding against drive shaft, strap cradle that was attached to frame was totally rotted away, truck has 46,000 well maintained miles and is in excellent condition, when I returned to dealer on 1/30/2018 where I purchased the truck new in September 2012 they informed me frame is rotted and not repairable, they apologized and told me they could not help me in any way. Desperate for help I went to a local mechanic and I learned the frame was not rotted but the bracket on the frame had rotted away. This mechanic welded everything back together and I paid him $400 out of my pocket, after reading some Dodge Ram forums I learned I am not the only one who has had this problem, luckily for me nothing bad happened I was only going 20 mph on a local road, gas tank had just been filled and holds 32 gallons of fuel, just thought I should report this so it does not happen to someone else with a worse outcomes,

Fuel pump relay in the tippin went out. Stationary as would not start. Took to shop, shop owner said he has seen this in other Dodge Ram(recently as two weeks before we brought ours in), was told that several models have been recalled for this exact same problem(Dodge Caravan, Jeep Cherokee, and the Dodge durango) but the Dodge Ram is not included. He repaired the vehicle using the fix that was used on all the other recalled vehicles. Gave us info on where he found the fix which in turn opened our eyes that hey there or lots of these faulty fuel pump relays out there. Went to the Chrysler dealership where my husband was told, yes they have been seeing this as well and to save our receipts just in case it was added but that there was nothing they could do at this time and there were no plans that they new of for it to be added to the recall. Talked to Chrysler corporation and they said they are not the ones who adds cars to the recall they could do nothing for us either. Cbwpr091aa was the replacement number for the part given to the shop owner from mopar. Just wanted to pass this along since several other Chrysler vehicles have had this same recall and we live in a city of around 10,000 so if several people in our city have had this same issue with their Dodge Ram, then surely there at tons more out there. Thank you

My vehicle started acting up a few times when I would go to start the vehicle, the engine would turn over and then stall out. I thought it was strange, but continued to drive it. While driving down an ice and snow packed road in the middle of traffic my vehicle stalled out; lost all power steering, brakes locked up, lights shut off, and I almost ended up rear-ending the car in front of me going 45 mph. I pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and was able to get it started again. Since then I have taken it to the car dealership and they told me the win module needed replaced along with the key fob ($725) that was not covered under my warranty. Upon further investigation I see this is a common problem. I called Chrysler headquarters and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it. This is a serious issue and needs a recall! it has done it several more times while driving. I have no other choice but to drive the vehicle due to it being my only means of Transport. Something needs to be done about this. I've had the truck less than a year.
