Steering wheel shakes while parked and driving. Last year had the torque sensor in the steering column replaced with a recall that caused the same issue. 9 months later the steering wheel has started shaking again while driving and now the dealer says there is an issue with the electronic steering system module. $700 to fix. They said it is not part of the recall( which some research said this might have had to be replaced under the recall) and warranty does not cover.

I have had the necessary eps recall work done on my G6 and continue to have power steering issues. The dealer stated that I need to have the torque sensor assembly replaced and that my VIN does not qualify although there are other manufacture dates that do. I'm wondering if this is a wide spread issue for my 2008 Pontiac G6 which was manufactured 11/2007?

While driving the vehicle and breaking at a stop sign on a local street, the power steering was lost, a notification of power steering appeared on the screen and a safety alert sounded. After manually steering the car to the side of the road, I killed the engine and restarted the car and the power steering was functional. I took the car to a local shop that diagnosed the problem as an issue with the steering column. I then took the car to a dealer who diagnosed the torque sensor as the issue. The dealer told me that my particular VIN number is not covered to fix the issue under campaign 14V153000.
