There were recalls for the same year and make of my vehicle for issues with variable assist electric power steering, but when I called to see if my VIN was on the list I was told it was not. This is the main problem with this type of vehicle and I hear that is the reason Pontiac converted back to the hydraulic power steering in 2010. I am a single mother and cannot afford to fix this problem with a defective part. Please help me have justice. I've had the hardest time these last few weeks driving with no power steering and have almost wrecked numerous times. Please help. Thank you very much. There was no wreck it or anything that spawned this problem. I am sure that this problem is due to a defective part.

I have a loud rubbing and clunking sound when I turn steering. I have read that it is a common issue in GM products. I am worried that my steering may fail while driving causing an accident. The issue goes away during damp weather. I have had tie rod ends and ball joints replaced.

Takata recall: I went to take my Pontiac G6 2008 at a mission Chevrolet here in el paso for a recall that it had because when I was on the freeway my steering wheel locked on me and I almost crashed and I couldn't make a turn to get off the freeway without assistance so I took it to the dealership in george dieter and they said they were going to repair it and now the car is worse and they wanted to charge me more than $600, this is ridiculous and now I can't drive my car.

We were driving on the highway this past weekend when the power steering alert showed on the radio display. Immediately went to manual steering. Checked the GM owner site which shows special warranty number 15356 which may cover the issue. However, the limit was 10 years or 150,000 miles, which is ridiculous if that is found to be an issue with the vehicle. This is a dangerous issue to have come up, loss of power steering, when one is driving the care at the time with no warning of the issue!!! now the dealer is saying I may have to pay over $1000 for something that should be covered under that warranty, as the car is over 150K miles although it is less than 10 years old. Here is the link to the so-called warranty GM.oemdtc.com/4286/15356-loss-of-electric-power-steering-assist-2007-2012-Chevrolet-Pontiac-Saturn.

I purchase my car December,2015 or maybe in the beginning of January, 2016. I had an extremely bad gas leak, I'll say 2 month after my brakes start messing up. Got them fixed & 3 months later I was back doing the same thing. Around August, 2016 my power steering wheel went out. Got that fixed, 3 weeks later my power steer did the same thing, again ! plus my pan had begin leaking.
