We were driving on the highway this past weekend when the power steering alert showed on the radio display. Immediately went to manual steering. Checked the GM owner site which shows special warranty number 15356 which may cover the issue. However, the limit was 10 years or 150,000 miles, which is ridiculous if that is found to be an issue with the vehicle. This is a dangerous issue to have come up, loss of power steering, when one is driving the care at the time with no warning of the issue!!! now the dealer is saying I may have to pay over $1000 for something that should be covered under that warranty, as the car is over 150K miles although it is less than 10 years old.
