Door lock failures: Repeated failures required new mechanisms, also affected the fuel tank door. Transmission failure: Occurred in parking lot fortunately. Required $2200 in repair. Dealer (hershberger motors in woodburn, or) failed to correctly seal the transmission. When returned to dealer for this, they broke the right bearing hub, another $400 to repair. Body control module failure: Wipers stopped working - an absolute necessity in Oregon! BCM repaired by sending out existing unit by dealer (Town & Country Chrysler, milwaukie, or). Did not correct problem ($450 repair costs). Presently in for correcitve action. Signed - unhappy customer.

The transmission failed without any hint of a problem suddenly and completely. I was stranded on a busy road with a sick child who had just come from the hospital after having surgery. Thankfully, noone was hurt, but the outcome could have been much much worse. Research indicates that chrylser transmissions are notoriously bad and I do not believe that a well maintained, light duty van should have a complete and sudden transmission failure at only 51,000 miles. Neither the dealer nor Chrysler believe this problem to be unusual. It is interesting to note that Chrysler now offers a 7 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

In Jan of 2000 I had to take my minivan in to have the transmission overhauled. I was still under warranty and the dealer wouldnt put a new transmission in, they said they couldnt do that. Now here it is Aug 2001 and 20,000 miles later and here we go again, I need a new transmission, upon contacting the dealer and having the vehicle checked now they want me to pay $2300 to pay for a replacement transmission with a 3 year warranty. This is what I asked them to do at 47,000 but was told they couldnt. Had the replacement been done at 47,000 miles as I had asked I wouldnt be putting any money out of my pocket. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Air bags are something that should not fail on a vehicle since it is government regulated safety equipment on a vehicle and it is a low wear item. My airbags have failed and Chrysler expects me to pay to fix them. They have also tied the airbags into the horn and cruise control. I feel that since this is a safety related item, Chrysler should be responsible for the repairs. If these bags fail to deploy or misfire due to their design, I and my passengers could be severely hurt or killed.

Pulling out of parking lot across 2-way traffic, heard loud clunk, then transmission lost power. Barely managed to pull off shoulder. No fwd or reverse. Dealer states transmission needs replacement ($1957). Since out of warranty, Chrysler Corp. Unwilling to help - claim to not be aware of transmission problems on this yr/make/model. Also, dealer states vehicle leaking oil past cam shaft seals. Replacement to cost $1200. Have paid over $3000 on many other prior repairs on vehicle.

Auto transmission failure" couple of times my van hesitated to drive when I put gear in drive position. Today, it happened again and after it started to move, it did not go faster than 35 miles speed. My van is only 5 years old and this should not suppose to happen to any major components. Please advise if this is common problem with all1996 voyegers. Do many owners have same complaints? I have friends told me that this a common problem of automatic transimmision with all 1996 models. If that is so than Chrysler should fix it without charge to me.is there any secret warranty or good wili policy or service campaign exists? please advise soon. Also many times, transmission indicator does not show the positon of D or R when shifted to D or R position. All positons stay lit. So its difficult to judge if you are in drive or reverse position. Also the cylinoid makes loude noise. I told many times to dealer during warranty period and they told me that is normal. But I don't think so. I have checked other same model and their cylinoid don't make that kind of noise.what are the facts"
