Consumer received a recall notice for the fuel rail. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and they ordered the part. But consumer was told that dealer will charge him $426 for repairs. When consumer inquired as to why he was told that replacing the fuel return chassis full return line was not included in the recall. Consumer did not understand this because he had a fuel leaking problem, and the recall stated that the remedy was for the dealer to install a chassis fuel return line. A recall notice was issued on GM vehicles concerning nylon tubing for fuel lines.the problem is, GM has not replaced all of the nylon lines in engine compartment.I had a problem with the line that was not replaced, which I fixed with a rubber fuel line.this line was pissing gas, into the engine compartment.if I didn't actually see this, a nice fire was sure to engulf the car.as I see it.this is a fire waiting to happen.to tell the truth, I have never seen a fuel line made out of this nylon.this problem should be corrected, before someone dies.

Consumer's vehicle experienced the same problem as stated in NHTSA recall 04V110000. Vehicles equipped with 4.0L V8 engines have a condition in which the nylon tubing used in the fuel rail construction may degrade and crack. Additionally, the 1995 model year uses a unique underhood fuel return line that may crack. Cracking of the fuel rail or return line tubing can result in a fuel leak into the engine compartment. Dealership indicated to the consumer this vehicle was not included in recall because it was manufactured in 1995.
