Frontier SE 4.0L 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,600 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Bought this from a dealer and the next day the service engine soon light came on.

At closing they tried to sell me the extended warranty but I have had good luck with Nissan vehicles in the past so opted out. Needless to say, shame on me.

The estimates to fix the issue are between $2500-$4000 to fix.

Noticed problem with about 81,500 on odometer. Contacted Nissan, they informed me they would not help since it was outside of their warranty extension. They suggested I contact dealer. Took truck to dealer, they said same thing, and estimated $7,000 repair bill. I decided I did not want to give Nissan any more of my money since they were, in my opinion, handling this matter very dishonorably. I took truck to nearby transmission shop, and am having the work done now for $5,500. This is my work truck, and I've been idling for a week now, still making payments on a vehicle I cannot use until I come up with nearly half of the purchase price to get this matter corrected. I am beyond frustrated with this. Nissan failed to notify me that they extended the warranty, or I would certainly have been on the lookout for this problem. Nissan is clearly aware that this problem exists, and is regularly occurring beyond their arbitrarily extended mileage limit. The claim that this is not a safety issue, but transmission failure can be a very serious issue.

When buying the 2007 Nissan it was suppose to have a lifetime warranty on the transmission. this is a joke. No one will even tell us at the dealership what is covered by this warranty and no one will return our calls. I would never buy another truck at Anderson Nissan in Asheville. What good is a lifetime warranty if no one will tell you what it will cover.
