The headlights are way to dim on the low setting. I have to drive with the brights on just to see at night. I get brighted by other vehicles but if I turn them on dim, I cannot see. Nissan NEEDS to do a recall and replace the entire headlight assembly with a quality product. I still owe a lot of money on my Nissan and I'd like to be able to see at night before I crash!!
I have replaced the bulbs and there is no change. I have to be really careful driving at night because I can't see well at all, and God forbid it rains!!!!
Just like all the others - this has HORRIBLE headlight illumination. You can see very minimally. It's quite dangerous to drive at night or in inclement weather.
Shame on you, Nissan, for not issuing a recall for this extremely dangerous problem.
The car headlights are so dim that driving at night is unsafe. The lens is almost completely burnt off. This is a major safety issue that needs attention.
Okay, I am primary caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimer's. My granddaughter told me about the problem when she drove the car at night in December of 18. I ignored it because I rarely drive at night. My son drove the car in summer of '19 to Florida and back and told me we had a serious problem that needed to be addressed because it was extremely dangerous to drive at night. I ignored it again because I rarely drive at night and I already have a FULL plate with me attempting to keep my husband at home who is in end stage dementia.
HOWEVER, the problem continued to deteriorate until I had no option but to go in and attempt to solve the problem at the dealership. I did in July of this year, 2021. It was recommended to me to have my headlights restored which I did. The lights projected about 5-10 feet on dim. I went back and it was recommended to have new bulbs put in which I did. No improvement. Then the service manager suggested purchasing high beam intensity lights and have someone put them in, which I did. The person who installed these immediately told me that my problem was NOT fixed and that I would need a complete set of new headlights. I am very annoyed. If anyone drives at night, they must keep the lights on bright, and this, of course, annoys all other drivers and is a safety issue.
Nissan should do a recall! This is corporate at its best with money being the driving force, instead of the people's welfare and safety!
This presents a safety issue when driving at night. My wife and I have three small children and we have to drive with our bright lights on just to see at night. Impossible to see without the bright lights.
The issue with very dim headlights is a very serious issue that Nissan should have addressed along time ago. I've had other problems also with my AC unit. Nissan is not a company that lives up to the standards that they claim.
First found had issue with dim lights in 2015 Nissan Altima back in August when making food deliveries I hit a raccoon. Spent $80.00 replacing bulbs, still not any brighter. Was told headlight covers needed to be cleaned, had done still not any improvement. Contacted Consumer Affairs which was a complete waste of time. They told me in order to see if they could assist in getting Nissan to fix them would have to have Nissan do diagnostic testing which cost another $150.00. Nissan refusing to take responsibility for them, claiming they are at the brightness they're supposed to be. With it being winter, unable to drive car after 5 pm, as got pulled over with a warning. Nissan dealership was completely rude to me, Consumer Affairs took days to call back and won't do anything since dealership says they're fine. Was told if I wanted brighter headlights, would have to spend another $800.00 for headlight conversion kit. Will never buy another Nissan as this has been a total nightmare!
The lights are so dim that I do not want to drive the car at night. I replaced the bulbs with 5000k HID bulbs in hope it would improve the issue, but it's not any better. I have to replace the entire assembly. I cannot see 10 feet in front of my car, the assembly lighting is so bad.
I been doing some research on the issue of dim low beams on my 2015 Nissan Altima. I replaced both bulbs with a brighter, more expensive bulb and still the problem is there. I came across this website and found that many people are complaining for the same problem and it seems to be a problem with the assemblies. Why isn't there a recall?? Good question! Especially if the problem is present on the oldest model, being the 2013. That is 7 years now, and I guess Nissan figures the problem is going to go away... it is not.
It really is a safety concern. I am from Illinois and usually the roads are pretty lit up so I didn't notice them degrading until I went down to Alabama for Thanksgiving and there aren't many street lights out there. Well, let me tell you that I could not see anything with the low beams. That is when I really noticed the problem.
Now we are at the end of February and I need to turn my high beams on to be able to see in low light and that only seems to me like that's how the low beams should look like. I hope there is a recall soon, because having to spend money on new or after-market assemblies on a 5 year old car is ridiculous.
I can no longer drive my car at night. This is an extremely dangerous situation. Once the time changes, I will be unable to drive my car for November-April. I live alone and have no other way of transportation should I need to go to the hospital or doctor. I cannot afford to call an ambulance.
I have 3 daughters that live in NC and don't feel safe driving to their homes out of town.
I really wish I never bought this car. The headlights are so dim, I have no choice but to use fog light or high beams. Many times I almost went off the road in curves because you just cannot see. Changed bulbs but still not bright enough. What made me more mad is I asked the dealer if the car had bright lights. They said they have the best.
I’m over it and ready to give up. They won’t fix it. I also cannot adjust the headlights as the turner is broken. Nissan will not take responsibility for anything. I have other issues with the car and I always get the same answer, the amount it would cost! Never again will I get a Nissan.
Dim headlights make driving on the road at night dangerous. I ran into a curb and flattened/ruined my front tire because I could not see the curb. It was nighttime, raining and with the dim headlights I could not see the turn properly.
I often have to drive with my windows down to add to my visual awareness of the road at night.
I pray that there is not a disabled vehicle or pedestrian on the road at night. It would be very difficult to see either until it is too late!
I just bought the car from Nissan of Greenville and the first time I drove it at night is when I discovered it. Had 3 cars pull out in front of me because they couldn't see me. The dealer charged me $1399 reconditioning so I think this would have been taken care of.
Problem started approximately 5 years after buying vehicle new. Lights began to dim. At first I thought it was my perception. But over the year the car did not have near as many miles on it due to the Covid lockdowns. Yesterday I realized that the low beams are only as bright as the low intensity driving lights. Cannot see more than 10' in front of the vehicle at night.
I've had more problems with this car. Both front wheel bearings went bad 5000 miles apart from each other; dealer only replaced one under warranty, the ECM went bad at 52k so I had to replace past warranty (Big $$$), rear brakes went bad at 22k miles and the dealer said normal wear item - replaced on my dime.
Now these damn headlights need replacing cause they are tooo dim. I'm buying American next vehicle.
