Takata inflators called dealer, pohanka Mercedes Benz of salisbury, and they said parts are not available and will not be available until 2018. How do I know when parts are available?

Takata recall. Having received notice of takata filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy, I contacted my local Mercedes dealership asking if they were doing repairs for the two takata airbag inflator recalls Mercedes issued in 2016. They said they will not address the issue until takata provides a remedy. It seems highly unlikely this will happen so we are left driving a vehicle with a defect known to result in injury or death.

The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact received the recall notice over a year ago. The dealer (penske Mercedes-Benz of West covina, 2010 E garvey ave S, West covina, ca 91791 (866) 240-5730) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact recently received a postcard from tk holdings that they filed for bankruptcy. The contact had not experienced a failure.
