This car is a night mare I have never been so unhappy with a car so much in my life I will have to take this to the media because there is nothing being done I feel as thought I am spending my money for nothing. I havent been able to enjoy this car since I bought I am still paying for it - the overdrive light starts blinking, and the car loses power and shutsdown - this is my thrid time having to fix this car Mazda is a rip off.
On two occasions transmissiom was replaced because overdrive light kept blinking. However, problem reoccurred for the third time. Vehicle at an independent repair shop for repairs. Manufacturer notified in writing.
Ongoing and continuous problem with transmission due to overdrive failure. Transmission has been replaced on three occasions from 60,000 through 153,000 miles. All repairs were done at an independent repair shop. Dealer/manufacturer were not notified at this time.
Vehicle accellerated slowly when consumer turned on the air conditioner. Vehicle has automatic transmission, and vehicle isn't shifting properly from drive to reverse.
When driving consumer noticed transmission light was illuminated on the dash, there was loss of acceleration. Consumer contacted the dealer, dealer linked the problem to transmission.

While leaving work vehicle was hesistating at acceleration, overdrive off light started blinking, and eventually car cut off, dealer said transmission needed to be replaced. In November of 1997 had a new transmission put in.
Automatic transmission: Failed and was towed to hays Mazda in nashville. Hays Mazda replaced with a rebuilt unit. Radiator: Discovered to be leaking by dealer, nelson Mazda of nashville. Unit was replaced by southern radiator of nashville
Transmission was making loud dropping sounds when engaging into reverse and drive, was told I need a new transmission. 2. rear sway bar needs new fastening device. 3. front engine exhaust pipe needs replacing. (replaced muffler and part of exhaust 7 mths. Prior.) 4. fuel gauge inoperative as of purchase date, has been replaced twice along with fuel pump and sending unit. 5. mass air flow sensor needs replacing. 6. heat actuator needs replacing. 7. distributor ignitor is faulty. 8. have had gasket covers and lifters replaced.
The overdirve light blinks on and off, causing the vehicle not to engage into the drive when vehicle is placed into drive. Transmission is also starting to slip. Dealer has been contacted.
The vehicle was purchased used in 1998. Shifting always seemed a problem. Ten months after the purchase, the vehicle started hesitating at high speeds. The fuel system was checked a number of times and it was later determined that it was a transmission problem. While the dealer was test driving the vehicle, the vehicle was involved in an accident. The transmission was replaced. It lasted about one month and the replaced transmission was replaced with the current transmission which is the third one in this automobile. Two months later, a hesitation was noted at low speeds when the gas tank was below half full and taking a left turn. The car is currently having the fuel pump and sending unit replaced.
