Speedometer was not working properly. When driving speedometer will go back to zero. Gauges on dash will start to act erractically. Vehicle stayed in third gear. Also, had to stop vehicle and let it sit, and then start vehicle back up, and everything acted normally. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated could not fix problem. Contacted Mazda, and Mazda indicated that there was recall 99I005000 on 1994 model.
I had the transmission replaced on my 1995 used Mazda a few months after I purchased the car. Even after the repairs, the O/D indicator light still flashes continuously, and the engine light comes on during/ after acceleration. My decision not to replace the transmission a second time was cemented after reading all the consumer complaints. I like the car, but I am almost certain the transmission is on its way to burning up again. It sure would be nice if Mazda would remit to me the $2300 I sunk in transmission repairs. I could use the money as a downpayment on a non-Mazda car.
O/D light began to flash and transmission is shifting very hard. I am in the military, and stationed overseas. I have contacted dealerships and have received no help at all.
The car is flashing the check engine light intermittedly for the last 2 months and today the O/D light flashed once. Last week the car would not go on reverse or in drive and then did it very "hard". today, when idle it would not shift to first gear for about 3 seconds and then shift hard and drive normally.
While driving transmission went out on vehicle. Vehicle would not shift gears, nor would it accelerate. Transmission was replaced on 3-27-98, and currently vehicle was having same problem. Contacted dealer. Dealer stated unless parts were on recall, there was nothing that could be done.
Transmission is slipping. Attempted to have original dealer pay off balance of loan in support of purchase of new car. Value is now only $2000 (paid $12995 12/98) because of transmission failure. Balise Mazda operation recognized that there is a failure with 1995 4 cylinder transmissions. Internet research suggests longstanding problems with mid 1990 4 cylinder Mazda 626. Am now stuck with a lemon and $2500 bill on car with only 58,000 miles.
Automatic transmission does not have power while in drive. In order to make vehicle accelerate, she has to shift into drive-2. dealership has examined vehicle, and determined that transmission needed to be replaced. Consumer ended up paying 1391 dollars for a remanufactured transmission.
My O/D light blinks constantly. There are quirks in the speedometer when set, when I put the car in gear it will not move. The Mazda dealer told me off hand that there is a problem with the transmission because he did a road test and found that it was shifting harshsly. I also understand that basically the problem I'm having with the transmission is what I found on the website stating that this is a problem Mazda and Ford basically knew was going to happen. The transmission that I have in my car from the years after 1994 is a cd4E by Ford. Now this version, is known to have terrible repair record, and some of it is the transmission's fault and Mazda. Now when I first obtained this car I needed a work order done on this car and the problem generated from the transmission. The version I have is prone to blowing out the pump gasket, failure rate of the original forward-clutch assembly is high, and line pressure occassionally goes off the scale. I feel that these compaines should not get away with not paying the bill, because now my car is not working and I don't have the money to pay for it. I am going to have to get touch with the 300 people I found on the internet a protest this matter. Becasuse I checked your record and found that there are a lot of other people complaining about the same thing and you are not doing anything about. Why do you exist.
Transmission failed in just over 80K miles even though maintenance was kept exactly inline with manufacturer's recommended service guidelines ever since the car was purchased new in 1995.
Failure of cd4E transmission on Mazda 626. Dealer standard procedure is to replace entire transmission costing $2500 - $3000. I understand that this transmission has frequent failures and would like to have a recall issued or something to hold manufacturer liable for replacement costs.
Consumer feels as if thee was a manufacturing defect with Mazda's transmission because she has replaced transmission twice. Consumer states transmissioin was rebuilt again on June 14th and failed again while driving on June 25th.
The transmission originally failed in April 2000 at 89000 miles. I purchased another transmission from Mazda and when the transmission was put in I was advised the transmission that was in there was not the original. I now have 12000 miles nd am H19aving to once again replace the transmission. I also have 4 friends that own or have owned the 1994,19 95, or 96 Mazda 626 and had the same problems.
I was driving home and when I got to a stop sign and was getting ready to turn right, the car jerked forward and felt as if it were in neutral for a second. About 2 weeks later I was on my way home and the same thing happened, only while I was driving in the middle of the road, the car began to rev and jerk around, and all the while, I was slowing down on the busy street. I took it to aamco and they told me the transmission was broken and I would need a new one if I wanted the car to work properly again. I was a bit frustrated at the fact that the model of the car is a '95 and is in need of a new transmission, thank you for your time.
In August, 1997 at 49,560 miles the O/D light was flashing. The car was covered under warranty and I was told by les marks Chevrolet that they had to replace the transmission. Well in November, 2000 at 101,702 miles the O/D light was flashing and I have been told (by transmission magician) that the transmission needs to be replaced again. I am spending $1,774 to get the transmission rebuilt. I contacted Mazda corporation and I was told that this problem is not abnormally.
I purchased this vehicle 5 weeks ago from a small car dealer and two weeks after the purchase the transmission began slipping. I took the car to tim marburger Mazda in concord, nc to have them place it on the computer to be certain the problem was with the transmission, which it was. They said that the transmission had overheated and that I would need a new transmission at a cost of $2835. In doing research through telephone and the internet, I discovered that the transmission has been a problem for this make and model of car. In fact, while I was at the Mazda dealership, a customer who was waiting told me she had to have a new transmission in the same make and model of vehicle. I pulled up the website, www.dustbury.com/626/trans.html and discovered that Mazda had an informal recall on the '94 626's due to transmission problems. I have a car that I haven't even made the first payment on that needs major repair and I feel that with the multiple problems with this transmission, Mazda should bear some of the responsibility.
