2013 Kia Soul+ 2.0L engine. Merging into 50mph zone from one major roadway to another, my vehicle stalled during acceleration, and began making a thumping noise as I pulled over. As I stopped the car on the shoulder, the check oil light began flashing. I drove to a parking lot for a safe area, and called the company that recently changed the oil 4 days prior. They had it towed back to them for another look. They found that the oil pump was working correctly, but one of the pistons was not getting any oil and the rod had broken. I've owned this vehicle for approx. 7 months. I've never had a check engine light or any other indicators that an issue was pending.

My exhaust pipe broke on a weld behind the resonator and started dragging the ground while I was driving. Luckly I was close to home. I went to the auto parts store and got some clamps to hold it together but it is very loud now. Not sure if it could have been a fire hazard from sparks on the pavement.
I 2013 Kia Souls recently went out, it won't start. There was no light that indicated a problem. I took it to my machine who believed it was the starter or battery but when he looked at the engine he believed it had blow up. A recent recall was done on my veh, so I got it tolled to Kia. They didn't issue me a rental, and the service man didn't want to take the veh because they havent received any information on it. I had to go home and get the recall notice that was going to be sent out to customers. I've been calling for the past 2 week and the service person closed out my case. If you had no information on the recall how can you close out my case " what knowledge did you have that your were not informing me" on 4/22/2019 I received a call that stated my car was not part of the recall because the service codes and that I would have to pay for a new engine but they can;'t find one. Maybe because it was recalled
After a month of leasing my Kia my engine light and oil light kept reappearing. So I would check all the fluids. The engine and oil light turned off and didn't turn on for a couple of days than the oil light turned on and would not turn off. All the fluids were checked. On a 15 minute drive into town immediately the engine light came on after not appearing for a couple of days. Later on in the afternoon driving back to the residence the radiator cap flew off into the engine compartment making the car overheat. Immediately after seeing the temperature gauge go up I pulled over to the right hand side of the road where it was left until the next day when I replaced the cap. It was running a little rough so I took the car to autozone to have the codes read. Shortly after that the car just died and could not start it wouldn't even turn over. Took it to Kia after and was told spark plugs had melted to the engine and that the engine needed to be replaced. After a year of sitting I took it upon myself to try to do something with the car. So I did read watch and replaced the crankshaft sensor which allowed the car to start but now the car idles really rough and there is some weird noises in the engine compartment it also still has a problem starting.
2013 Kia Soul 1.6L gdi. 77650 miles. Problem 1.two days ago while driving on the freeway my check engine light started flashing and I could tell it was having a lot of hesitation, even before it flashed I could notice something wasn't right. I immediately went to my local Kia dealership and they ran a diagnostic on my car and could tell there is something wrong with cylinder 2. despite that no action was taken and I was told to keep driving the vehicle until I happened again. 2. I've been noticing my car is always low on oil. Last time I had my oil changed they told me they couldn't even measure any oil on the dipstick. Now yesterday when I was at the dealership same issue. It's only been 2K miles since my last service and it was almost 3/4of a qt low. I know it's normal for some oil to burn but that's way too much too quickly. 3. yesterday only 1 day after my check engine light flashed I noticed a really bad smell coming from my car when I got off the highway. I'd described it as a hot tin/sulfer smell. Now I'm worried to even drive this car and I don't know what to do.
This is the second complaint being filed reguarding this car. After we filed the first complaint we took our car back into the Kia dealership for the check engine light flashing. They scanned engine and didn't find anything. They topped off our oil because it was half full. I just recently got my oil change done there 2,000 miles ago. According to the owners manual it should be done every 7,500 miles. The following day we were driving down the freeway, pulled off at our exit and smelled a horrid leak burning/ rotten egg/ sulfur smell. We immediately pulled of the road and checked the car for flames. We didn't find any. I'm really starting to feel unsafe about being in this vechiel.
Kia Soul 2013 recall. We were driving home from work on the freeway going about 55mph and the check engine light started flashing. We rushed immediately to the kiadealership after hearing about the Kia engine fires. They scanned our vechiel and saidone of the engine coils may stop working. They said our car could just stop working on the road and then we would need to tow it in. This doesn't sound like a clear explaination of the problem to me. I'm concerned we'll keep driving the car and it will catch on fire.
In April of 2015 I drove a half hour of highway driving to an appointment. I parked my car (with the ignition off). Walked into the building and within 1 or 2 minutes my car was engulfed in flames. 911 was called. The fire department came and put out the fire but car was totaled. My insurance co. Hired a forensic specialist to determine the cause of fire for insurance purposes. The specialist was unable to determine the cause of this freak incident. I have pictures but don't know how to include them.
Engine looses oil out tail pipe. Doesn't leak a drop or smoke. Warm it up in garage and there is a spot of oil where exhaust exits. After fresh oil change, around 1000 miles after there is no oil on dip stick. Started happening around 80,000 miles. Told Kia dealer and they said warrenty is voided since I change the oil myself and have no documents to prove. I change every 3000 miles.
Engine shut down lost all oil. Kia took it to dealership where they say it's because I changed my own oil and had a kink in filter. I have changed my oil for years do most of my own work build trucks for a living no way this is possible I changed the oil about 4 months ago it would have leaked the 1st time I drove it. Kia corporate and dealer stand. Be there tech. Theres fixing to be a recall that describes my issue to the detail. The corporate lady I spoke to when it happend said it sounded just like the recall that's fixing to come out. Had it towed to dealer then they back track. There is no way this is possible a mechanic I know said he has had 3 or 4 in the last 2 years come in his garage for same thing. Anything yall can do to help me thanks. Wife was driving to work like normal engine just died no noise no lights nothing
My car broke down last week, after getting it towed to the destination, low and behold it is the catalytic converter. I had to replace the cat, and am now worried that my engine, which is burning oil caused by the cat damaging the engine will catch fire, and I will not have enough time to remedy the situation. I get brought all around when I call Kia, some say my car is being recalled, some say no, all I know is my car is showing every single symptom of the recall, and I feel they are taking an extreme risk not speeding up the process for the recall, and having more knowledge if I'm on the obviously similar symptoms of the recall or not. People have died from their negligence, and this wait game is giving me extreme anxiety and makes me scared to commute to work.
Fuel efficiency had declined greatly over past month. Car stopped working and had it towed. The Kia dealership replaced the started but said the engine had a knocking and needs replaced. Has only had Kia work on it and all regular maintenance has been done. Checked the recall and say my car is not covered, yet the engine failed out of the blue with no warning.

Paramount Kia of hickory (1205 S center St, hickory, nc 28602, (844) 921-2948) stated that there were no recalls and they could not assist. The manufacturer was not contacted. Takata recall : check engine light comes on, stays on for a few days, then turns off for a few hours. The error code reads P0420. My fuel efficiency has significantly dropped and I have a significant loss of power as my car now struggles to accelerate. A smell similar to spray paint has been present inside the car on occasion. The engine has grown loud. However, my VIN number is not pulling up any recalls. This does not make sense, given my specific issues with my vehicle.
I just read about the recall for the catalytic converter overheating and causing oil leakage. My VIN is not showing under the recall but my car is losing oil and the engine light came on. The mechanic says it is giving the code for the catalytic converter. My car is also losing power and I can hear a noise under the hood that sounds like metal hitting metal. The recall says it includes the 2013 Kia Soul with the 1.6 engine and I'm wondering if mine will be included in the recall.
