For the last 3 yrs the last piston has been misfiring causing a knocking sound. Every where I take it, including 2 Kia dealerships say it needs a new engine. I know other Kia Soul owners with the same issue. This problem started in 2015. It's a known issue. Canada made Kia replace engines with this issue. The car knocks whether stationary or driving.

My daughter was driving my 2013 Kia Soul, 2.0 engine, on the interstate when the car had a sudden lose of power. Within a minute or so there was a loud pop and smoke rolling out behind. After being towed and inspected we see that the oil mid pan failed. There is a large crack in the cast aluminum just behind the oil filter. I was told this much back pressure in the engine probably means a clogged or faulty catalytic converter. I have noticed a lot of similar complaints from other Kia owners. Called Kia and was told this in not covered by any warranty or recall.

I purchased my 2013 Kia Soul on May 8, 2019. Engine started knocking. When I checked for any recalls, my car had the catalytic converter recall. This was performed at Kia dealer in lake charles, la, on April 22, 2019. They did not repair or replace engine. I took to walker Kia in alexandria, la, and was told my engine was not one "with the lifetime warranty" and that it was not included in the engine recall. I have not seen anything regarding a "lifetime engine warranty". this car needs new engine. Please help!

I was driving my 2013 Kia Soul, and I was turning across a busy intersection. As I was in the middle of crossing the intersection my car stalled out and I was almost in a very serious accident. If the oncoming car had not swerved it would have been a serious collision. Since this incident, my car has been towed to a Kia service center and evaluated. The Kia technician stated that my car had metal shavings within the crankshaft oil passages, and the crankpins themselves may be too rough on the edges. As a result, oil may be blocked and cause the connecting rod bearings to wear, which would then cause them to fail and seize the whole engine. That, of course, would cause the car to stall during driving. This is the exact same problem that the other Kia engines were recalled for. In addition to stalling this could cause the rods to pierce the engine and cause a fire. More lives are at risk because the Kia recall is not complete. Engines like mine, are still out there possibly causing serious and or fatal incidents. Kia needs to expand the recall to the 2. engines as well. This is a manufacturing defect that needs immediate action. Please expand the recall as this problem is still continuing in other Kia Soul engines not listed in the recall. Consumer stated my 2013 Kia Soul has been towed to the dulles Kia dealership. They are saying that even though the issue my car is having is the same/ or similar to the other recalled Kia Soul engines, my engine is not listed on the recall. Since it is not on the recall, I need a new engine at the cost of $6,200 dollars. My Kia is a 2013, with 86,712 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2013 Kia Soul. While driving at an unknown speed, a piston rod disconnected and punctured the engine. The failure caused oil to leak and the engine to smoke due to oil leaking onto the hot exhaust component. The contact was concerned that the engine would catch on fire and she quickly pulled the vehicle over. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact stated that she previously visited vision Kia of canandaigua (2445 rochester rd rte 332, canandaigua, NY 14424, (585) 394-4542) where they checked the ECU logic improvement only and did not check the catalytic converter. The dealer stated that the catalytic converter was not damaged; however, the contact stated that this was not stated at all in the paperwork from the dealer. The contact stated that the damage to the contact's vehicle matched the failure listed in NHTSA campaign number: 19V120000 (engine and engine cooling). The dealer quoted a repair cost of over $4,000. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 117,000.

My vehicle suffered NHTSA recall 19V120. Kia dealership refused to inspect for any engine damage that may have occurred. They just replaced the catalytic converter and did not inspect for any engine damage. The vehicle suffered from catalytic converter issues for over 3 years and they refused to say anything was wrong with the vehicle. According to the recall, if the catalytic converter was damaged it may cause engine damage. Well the catalytic converter was damaged and they refuse to do a proper inspection on the vehicle. I need them to fully diagnose the vehicle and inspect the engine. Corporate has refused to work with me resolving this matter. The technician stated that it is impossible for the catalytic converter to cause any engine damage.
