The factory paint job is delaminating and chipping. Its chipping in different parts. This is a problem because Kia didn-??t let the primer sit well or because they didn-??t even put primer. You can tell by the way the paint is delaminating.
Peeling paint and rapid delamination occurring on my vehicle around the windshield area and columns. What started as small chips in 2014 has continued and accelerated and is now peeling in larger sheets down to the metal. Kia dealership will not fix it. Three quotes obtained for repair.
2013 KIA Optima Pearl White Paint peeling and chipping off all around the windshield. May now cause rust and future instability to vehicle frame which could make it dangerous.
The hybrid vehicle was being driven on a 3-lane state highway and came to rest in the middle lane behind 4 vehicles when the dtc P1B25/P1B77 ' 125 amp hv fuse was blown. This caused a safety hazard to many oncoming vehicles and the vehicle locked up. Other reports found online seem consistent with PS515 (rev 2, 02/28/2019) and have reported to stop and become unresponsive while driving.
2013 Kia Optima sx turbo. While driving approx. 65 mph on a hwy, the vehicle suddenly decelerated hard enough to make me lunge forward toward the steering wheel. I saw multiple warning lights come on the dash and when the gas pedal was pressed the car would not accelerate at all. I was able to get the car pulled off to the side of the road where I turned the vehicle off. I pressed the Kia's start button, and the car would not start. The lights on the dash would all come on and there was a very strong odor of burnt electrical wires coming from the engine compartment. I had the car towed back to the dealership where they are currently diagnosing the problem. This is a very dangerous safety issue. Scary, to say the least.

Snow white pearl paint rapidly chipping off of my 2013 Kia Optima, no accidents have occurred to make this paint problem occur. I'm not quite sure why the paint is chipping off so easily. A lot of the paint is chipping around the front windshield and hood of the car.
On February 19, 2021 at around 12:50 a.M., a friend and I were driving home in my 2013 Kia Optima hybrid ex on a city street and we were a little more than half-way home when the check engine light on came on. I started looking for an open gas station so I could stop and check if there was anything visibly wrong with my car. Before I could reach a gas station, I heard a ticking noise in the engine compartment and upon looking in the rearview mirror I saw smoke billowing out of the back of the car and saw and smelled smoke inside the cabin also. I immediately pulled over and shut the car off. The car then completely filled with smoke, so my friend and I got out of the car quickly. The engine area burst into flames. I called 911 and reported it to the police and waited for them to come. The car exploded a couple of times before they got to me and the fire quickly engulfed the car reaching into the cabin of the vehicle. The street had to be completely blocked off from all traffic. It was a very scary experience as we barely made it out of the car before it burst into flames and how risky it was being in the car before it caught fire. As fast as everything happened we feel lucky to be alive. It took the fire crew about an hour to put the car out. Everything inside the cabin was completely destroyed. After getting a ride home from the police I started researching online the issue I had just gone through and found that there was manufacturer recall #sc200te, NHTSA recall #20V750 for my vehicle which seemed to fit the experience I had with my car.
Loss of power upon accelerating. Turbo seems to be affected. Problem stops/resets sometimes after I turn off the car and turn it back on again. When trying to accelerate up to 40mph, the engine doesn't respond appropriately. I can have my pedal pushed to the ground and it will still take at least 1-2 minutes to get up to 40 mph. After it gets to around 40-45 mph it seems to respond better to acceleration, but it still lags. Computer threw code P2562.
During a commute to worksite the car was driving normally for the first 10 miles. No sounds, no dash lights illuminated. No signal that anything was wrong. As I drove normally through the route, I entered the highway and accelerated to nearly 65 mph. After a moment or so of driving the car suddenly felt as if the engine had no power. I pulled my foot off the gas, then I checked the dash lights, I made sure the vehicle was in the proper automatics mode and not manual (it felt like it was thrown into neutral or a lower gear), I also verified cruise control was off. Everything seemed fine. I pressed the gas to accelerate back up to speed and the car began shaking very vigorously. Then the engine light came on. Because I was not in a safe area to stop, I tried to coast to the nearest exit. I imagine I was coasting and accelerating intermittently (for only a few seconds at a time) for anywhere from one-half to two miles before the next exit. It is hard to guess the distance because it was dark during the incident. Once I made it to the exit, the engine was no longer providing power at all - meaning I would press the gas and nothing would happen. The car would not move, the engine would not even rev. I called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership. The dealer said that because the car did not have a code of P1326 that the issue was not covered under Kia's extended engine warranty. I am trying to fight for them to honor the warranty. No luck so far. They quoted a $7500 repair. Car is perfectly maintained. I just put new spark plus and a new serpentine belt on 9 weeks ago (at the Kia dealership of course- only place I do maintenance at).
When I was driving all the lights came on on the dashboard and I couldn't accelerate at all then it cut off and haven't been able to jump it off or anything! we've looked to see if we could find out why but it's just died and I think the motor locked up!
Car smelled like gas when air was on and even with air off. Fixed March 2019 and I believe I see a recall for it now. We paid a pretty penny to get fixed. My paint on my car is coming off everywhere like bad nail polish. It is peeling off and continues to happen in new parts of the car. I'm trying to get this fixed now with Kia. This started happening around windshield first about a year and half ago and then the trunk last fall and now my door and other areas in the last few months.
Was driving and my car turned off on me randomly ? always am consistent with oil changes every 3000 miles and always make sure my take is full with good gas I've also had to replace the gas line once already, , mechanic said I might have to replace my fuel tank because something with car not getting enough gas or so, I've also see leaks looks like gas
I noticed the problem while driving roughly 65 mph. My vehicle pretty much went into limp mode. I was only able to travel at a certain top speed. Over heating then became a very drastic issue. I looked on the nhsta website for any known recalls there were some for my year and model but mine wasn't listed? I called a family mechanic and described in more greater detail about my issue from start to finish, he advised me not to drive the vehicle that it was displaying the exact qualities as the listed recall and I should call Kia motor company to have the look into my class of vehicles further. Long story short I was basically left homeless in a city and state pretty much beat on the whole idea of every getting my car back at the time of the incident it dropped below 28 degrees outside. I was approximately 200 miles from home. Because of this corporations negligence. I lost more than a good night sleep I had to start back over again and I'm unfortunately an only child with no parents so it was very mind boggling.. I made repeated attempts to come to some sort of agreement with Kia to no avail. Some one went so far as to steal a safe out of my vehicle. Which I had professionally installed and vandalized the inside of my car beyond repair. Thanks Kia, for victimizing me to make your millions.
Sometimes upon starting my car it just sputters and sputters and sputters for several minutes like it's not gonna start then it kicks in and starts but I am concerned that one of these times it's not gonna end up starting and I will be stranded somewhere. It has been happening off and on periodically for the last five months
So from the start I bought the car $5000 cash from a dealership who promised a 3 month warranty 3 weeks into having the car I decided to take a road trip for my graduation party from high school I'm about 2 hours out from my city going down the highway car just stops accelerating and flashing a engine light while I'm on a one way highway tractor trailers and cars are going 80mph behind meanwhile my car can't accelerate luckily I was able to pull over without losing my life so I call the dealership and he hangs up and says there's nothing he can do there's no warranty at all and I'm just in shock I'm stranded on the highway with no one near me that I know so I end up paying the tow truck $600 to go back to my city take the car to mechanic he says it's the knock sensor he ' fixed' it on the way home from picking it up from the mechanic I was driving on the highway again the car does the same exact thing but this time it was worse because cars was right behind me almost hit me and swerved and almost took there own life and my car just won't accelerate anymore and sounds horrible knocking sound while cars are coming straight behind me I pulled over eventually got it towed back to the mechanic after paying him he says he's still trying to fix it I honestly just want to be safe in my car that was supposed to get me to college now im out of a car and college funds due to fixing the car and can't even go due to lack of safety on vehicle it was very traumatizing and impacting on my life.
Had oil changed and drove about 500 feet from dealership when car shut down in middle of street. Traffic was heavy and about to run over me. Cars sliding on brakes to avoid my stalled car in the street. Tried to turn into parking lot to get off street but it was extremely hard top steer. Had to sit there in 100 degree heat. Finally had to get out of car when it was safe and run across street.called staff member from dealership to come and help me. He assisted me in getting car back into parking lot and said ABS hydraulic unit needed to be replaced. Quoted me $2341.84 to repair. I agreed and they fixed it only to find out that was not the problem after all. Now I am told I need horness wiring is burned out! another $2000 for wiring. This need to be investigated asap. It's no way with only 54000 miles, this should be happening. I need someone to contact me or Kia in baton rouge, la located on seigen lane. I have the print out but I cannot upload it. The car has been in the Kia dealership for about a month now. I don't think they can fix it because they are not sure exactly what is wrong with it. This has to be something that is wrong that Kia has not discovered yet. This car should be good for more than 54000 miles. Please help asap. Thank you.
