We leased our jeep [XXX and started having Software (SW) issues in December 2023. We were informed in June 2024, after having multiple SW issues, from dealer senior mechanic that 90% of the first wave 2024 Jeep Wranglers had SW issues. Our jeep was a first wave unit, we were not informed of a possible SW during test drive. There's been two SW updates that I know of, one in late Jun 2024 and another in mid Sept 2024. Neither fixed all the SW issues and in fact added more additional issues. Dates listed or beginning dates. Issues include Control-D: going totally blank starting in Jan 2024 on startup or while driving or starting, in Oct 2024 having a half inch strip across the top and down left side, Dash navigation direction provides two dashes starting Jul 2024 on startup and for about 30sec, GPS freezing up in Aug 2024, all functions on screen froze up Nov 2024, to name a few. FCA US LLC has no idea when the next SW update will be released or what fix's will be included. Hardware (HW): Mar 2024 headlights with switch in Auto will come on in broad sunlight. While driving on [XXX], engine warning light came on and remained on for a total of 36hours during start up and driving time. Presently at Starr Motors Suffolk, VA since Dec 16, 2024. They have been directed to trouble shoot and fix HW. We've were informed Jan 14, 2025, that the Oil Control Valve is bad, and more testing will be performed once parts are replaced. Vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Would not restart. Had to be towed. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" Power Inverter Module How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Yes. Car stopped in the middle of the road. No warning light until after Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer confirmed power inverter module needs to be replaced Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle is at the dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" No warning lights until after the incident. No other symptoms
We have a 4xe jeep wrangler Rubicon X that we purchased for $70,000. We purchased this vehicle to take advantage of the hybrid features, only to later find out that these batteries that are installed in these vehicles have the potential to explode, and cause massive property damage. This is a total defect from the manufacturer and as a consumer I should not have to make financial sacrifices to trade in a vehicle that's 8 months old that's significantly decreased in value by over 30k in such a short time period. Jeep, Stellantis, and the dealerships need to stop selling these hazardous vehicles and make this right to their consumers. I would like to resolve this matter now before seeking legal counsel on my behalf.
On three occasions so far in this vehicle with fewer than 3,000 miles I have experienced the -??death wobble-?? after going over a bump on a highway at highway speeds. The intense shaking of the vehicle persists until I am able to slow down to below 50mph or so. The incidents have taken place on [XXX] (twice on [XXX] driving North from Cupertino) and on [XXX] driving in Napa on [XXX] towards Yountville. When traveling on the highway if you switch lanes or hit a bump, the jeep shakes violently and you have to hit your brakes to make it stop. A rented vehicle of the same make model and year had the same issue for family members in September of 2024. We have been taking video, took it to jeep and the tech took it for a 3 mile ride (non highway) and said nothing is wrong but they recommended a dampener or stabilizers, but this jeep is $1100/month and brand new. There are no warnings, and the shaking is absolutely hard to control. Less than 10,000 miles and it-??s a safety concern for any jeep on the highways. It-??s dangerous for all vehicles to be around the jeep when it begins shaking. All we can do for now, unless we wreck, is video it-??s issue. We have traveled from Kansas to Washington and are almost back to Kansas, but the issue has gotten more dangerous as we have traveled. It feels like the wheels will actually fall off the arms of the jeep. It-??s incredibly scary. Video not an option to upload below, but we can get info from jeep tech showing we told them the issue. The jeep is available for inspection and the issue will not stop, it-??s a constant and there-??s no way this is normal.
I had several safety concerns regarding the 2024 Jeep Wrangler that I purchased and subsequently traded in after only 31 days due to multiple issues that I believe may compromise vehicle safety. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I noticed that the front inner splash guards were loose. After the dealership, Tyson-??s Motors in Shorewood, IL, replaced both splash guards, I discovered that the front left splash guard had plugs that fell out, exposing critical hoses underneath. This issue raised immediate concerns about the potential for damage to these hoses and the vehicle's overall safety. In addition to the splash guard issue, I experienced further safety concerns, including screws from the inside speakers located between the front and rear seats falling off while driving, as well as a loose headlight pin. These problems not only posed a risk to my safety but also created an environment of uncertainty regarding the overall reliability of the vehicle. Due to these ongoing issues, I felt it necessary to trade in the Wrangler for an identical model, as I believed the original vehicle was possibly faulty. Unfortunately, the replacement vehicle caused me injury just two days later, which I have also reported to the NHTSA, dealership and Jeep. I believe these issues warrant serious attention and investigation to prevent potential safety hazards for other drivers, passengers, and those driving on the road.
I believe a serious malfunction occurred with a 2024 Jeep Wrangler on [XXX], the day after I purchased the vehicle. The incident took place while I was driving westbound on [XXX], at a speed of 65 mph. At the time of the incident, I had both front Targa Top Panels removed, both front windows down, and both rear windows up. Suddenly, I was struck in the face by what felt like a rock. This unexpected impact caused me to swerve dangerously close to the median. Almost immediately, I noticed I was bleeding and experienced excruciating pain. Upon exiting the highway at my home exit, I checked on my nonverbal child to ensure their safety. To my dismay, I discovered an adjustable turning loop cover on the rear back floor of the vehicle. After further investigation I noticed my rearview mirror had a crack also. I'm confident this piece flew from my passenger side of my vehicle, hit off my window shield or rearview mirror, and into my face. Concerned about the safety implications of this malfunction, I returned to the dealership, Tyson-??s Motor Shorewood in IL, where I purchased the Jeep. Although they offered to reattach the piece, I declined, as I believed this could pose a further risk of injury. I no longer own this Jeep after sustaining this injury I felt compelled to sell it for the safety of myself, and my children. I have reported this incident to Jeep, and my case number is #[XXX]. The malfunction resulted in a laceration and bruising to my face, and I strongly believe that this issue warrants investigation. All the warning lights came on while driving on the highway and the vehicle shutdown on its own. 3,000 miles on the vehicle. Seems like an electrical or software issue. Absolutely unacceptable. I am lucky I wasn-??t hit.
The day I got the vehicle, it shut down. I thought it was a fluke, but it keeps shutting down on the road. Completely. The whole car turns off in middle of the lane and I have to try and restart the car which can take a few minutes. No alerts would come up, the car would just suddenly stop. It is very stressful trying to get the car restarted with everyone honking and zooming around me. I have a baby and every time we get in car, I am fearful of an accident. It went to different dealerships multiple times, each time they claim there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. I've shown them many videos, and they say its insufficient proof. They drove it for over 200mi and told me they could not replicate the problem. I find this hard to believe as happens 10-20 A DAY!! And I don't drive a lot. It literally happens on the way home from the dealership. They wont give me a rental car, cuz they don't see a problem, yet keep the vehicle for weeks.
I picked up my new wrangler from the dealer on Friday [XXX]. On Saturday [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] on my way to Amherst, MA. Since I was on the highway, I was traveling between 65-75 mph. About 30 minutes into the trip the vehicle began to jerk and the engine was sputtering. When pushing on the gas pedal the car would jerk and lose any acceleration. I began to slow down as the car jerked and lost all acceleration. I had to pull over on the busy highway as the car could not maintain speed over 30 mph. I luckily was about two miles from a rest area and I drove in the shoulder and exited. The check engine light was on and the engine was making a very loud noise and seemed to be stuck in a high gear. Once we were safely in the parking area, I turned off the engine and the vehicle was towed to a dealer in Albany NY. The car remained at the dealer and I picked it up on Wednesday [XXX]. The tech at the dealer said they applied a bunch of software updates, road tested it and everything seemed good. I picked up the car on Wednesday [XXX]. On Thursday [XXX] after driving roughly 30 miles in total, the vehicle did the same thing while driving. This time I was in a residential area. I had to turn around and lump to park the car in my parents driveway. The car was subsequently towed back to the repair shop on Friday [XXX]. I am currently awaiting an update on status.
HVAC DEFOGGER RECALL HAS NEVER BEEN REPAIRED! air flow would not clear visibility when driving there is a recall on hvac defogger system and also an update within the vehicle itself computer system on my vehicle. I was researching this recall when I accidentally tapped onto this issue being completed while i was on credit karma, accidental tapping thst I-??d done this repair when I had not! I believe by me doing this it took my personal vehicle off the list -??I was trying to research everything about this recall and I hit that as repaired by accident when I never had this issue repaired! I was driving when I needed this hvac defogger to work, in south Texas. The HVAC DEFOGGER SYSTEM did not work at all! I was close to 3 accidents and I drove over a curb due to zero visibility at that time!
Vehicle sold 11/17/2023 by dealership with know issue with information screen. Screen goes black while backing up, using map, have been attempting to have issue fixed since purchase of vehicle, told it is a computer software issue, both Jeep and dealership are are of issue.
The vehicle is supposed to have an off board power inverter (MOPAR PART 68522775AD or 68522775AB), and is supposed to work with all models of the 4XE wrangler. My Power port does not work and JEEP has been unhelpful in getting it replaced. My case number with FCA is 89963711.
After hitting a minor bump in the road on the highway traveling approx. 60 MPH, my Jeep began to shake unusually longer than one might expect going over a bump. It stopped after just a few seconds, and I continued driving. About five miles later, traveling approx. 65 MPH it happened again, after hitting a bump or expansion joints on the highway. This time the shaking laster longer, maybe six or seven seconds until I was able to migrate to the slow lane, and once I reduced my speed it stopped. I continued driving slowly, and called the dealership immediately after arriving at my destination. I learned the problem is known to JEEP as the Death Wobble. I am going on record to report that this happened to me in my 2024 4XE Jeep Wrangler with 2,300 miles.
I leased a 2024 Jeep Wrangler since day 1 I have been having problems with the stereo system where it shuts off and on the whole drive. The screen goes black when I'm backing up the car and I find this dangerous because I almost hit a person while backing. I don't have control on the temperature because the screen is black so my windows would get foggy and the during the summer the Aircon doesn't work and during the winter the heat doesn't work. When my phone is connected to the car play and I'm using the navigation sysmtem it would shut of again and again to the point where im lost and almost ended up the the wrong way on the road, and also while driving the screen would turn on and show my backup camera while I'm on the highway. I have taken this car multiple times to the dealer service department and was told that its a software issues. it is now almost a year and nothing has been done about it. the car is a lease for 3 years and i'm paying $720 dollars per month for a car that I feel is not safe for me to drive. Please help me get a solution, I don't know who else I can contact in regards to this. I have a lot of videos that can attest to this problem.
I recently purchased a NEW 2024 jeep wrangler 4xe. Within the first week of ownership, the car broke down twice and was unable to be driven during a trip. The car started fine and was able to be driven at first, but twice, while stopped at a traffic light, it was unable to start again. The car needed to be towed to the local dealership on both occasions. This caused significant traffic hazards on both occasions. During the first service trip to the dealer, I was told that software needed to be updated, but on the second visit, I was told that the entire transmission needed to be replaced. I see online that others have complained of the same exact issue that I experienced [XXX] ) There were no warning lights or lamps on prior to the vehicle breaking down but after the incident on both occasions there was a "service transmission" message. While driving on a busy road a red turtle error code popped up and my car went from 50mph to 5 mph very quickly almost causing an accident I am afraid to drive my 67000 car help
I bought a new jeep wrangler 4xe 2024. I drove the wrangler first day to city, and the dashboard suddenly popped up red little turtle warning light, vehicle started lost power in the middle of the street, it was crawling no more than 5 MPH. I randomly pressed the cruise control ACC couple minute the warning light went off, and I continued to drive on the road, the wrangler dashboard popped up the red turtle warning light again after I got off the bridge, vehicle no power again, I have to double park on the street, I turn off the engine and turned it back on the red turtle warning light still there, I heard there is a fan on top of the dashboard blew with loud noise, fast speed and then it gradually slowing down, then the warning light went off, so I could continually drove back to office, I luckily I can make it back to office. I don't think it is safe to drive this vehicle, it could be happen if driving on the highway with 55 mph, it could lost power while driving on the highway, it is serious danger.
The vehicle starts flashing the -??D-?? the vehicle then completely stops. All the lights in the dashboard turn on and it asks to shift to park then the shaft can-??t be move. The vehicle turns on, but the shaft can-??t be shifted. This has happened to us twice in the middle of a Texas highway and we unfortunately can-??t even put it on park to push it out of harms way
