I was driving in the middle lane on I96 west when the dashboard lite up fully every light alerting me of every possible thing that needs attention known to man. This isn-??t the first time this has happened but it is was the first time on the highway. I attempted to move the steering wheel which wasn-??t working-I-??m guessing the power steering wasn-??t working, I slowly moved to the far right lane and managed to exit the freeway actually -??-??manhandling-?? the steering wheel to make the vehicle turn in either direction. Needless to say I was beyond scared of what was gonna happen next. I made it to a grocery store parking lot and called for towing back to the dealer. This vehicle was just at the dealer the previous week for the dashboard lighting up in the same way but I didn-??t drive it anywhere since I couldn-??t turn the wheel that time either. The dealer told me it was a fluke and sent me on my way. This vehicle is two yrs old and has only been serviced by the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. After doing some research, I-??ve read that other owners of Jeep wranglers have had similar problems going as far back as 2018! I can-??t possibly be the only to report this issue. If I lost control of the vehicle due to power steering issues and sensor/computer failures what would happen to me" Would I be dead? Would I kill other people on the road? How would I ever be able to prove this is the vehicle and not me" This is an issue that needs to be looked at deeper. My vehicle is still at the dealership. It-??s only two yrs old and has 40,000 miles. I need someone to look into this problem before something horrible happens to someone. Unfortunately my daughter also has a jeep wrangler and I hope she can stay calm if something like this happens to her on the freeway.
I had the 95B battery recall performed at my Jeep Dealer and 2 days later I had a sudden loss of power and and sudden breakdown of the vehicle requiring towing to the Jeep dealer (Orlando Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Orlando, FL 4101 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32808 Phone: (407) 299-1120) on [XXX]. They have not been able to give us any answers other than the hybrid battery needs replacement and over 2 weeks later they are giving us no answers or solutions. On [XXX] I bought a 2022 Jeep wrangler 392 from Ron Tonkin Jeep in Milwaukie, OR. It was certified pre owned and still under full manufacturer warranty. I drove the car for one day then parked it at Portland airport before flying to Chicago. A week later while still out of town, I received a call from the parking lot manager that my car spontaneously caught on fire last night and violently burned also damaging 3 cars near it. The fire department came and put out the fire and said the fire was caused by -??mechanical failure, malfunction-??. Jeep has refused to cover this claim because they said the cause of the fire cannot be determined. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000) for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle has experienced stalling and a significant loss of engine power while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. These issues were first noticed in October 2024 and the vehicle has become unsafe to drive as a result. I previously submitted a complaint to the NHTSA in October 2024, but the issue remains unresolved. Following the recall advisory, I brought my vehicle to an authorized dealership on November 26, 2024, where I was informed that no available fix exists for this recall issue, and the dealership could not provide a timeline for when a remedy would be available. The malfunction involves the high-voltage battery pack software, which is part of the recall remedy. However, this update has not been applied to my vehicle, and the ongoing performance degradation continues to put my safety at risk. The recall explicitly mentions the potential for fire and injury, which heightens my concern regarding the unresolved issue. Safety Risk: The stalling and loss of power while driving creates an immediate danger to my safety and that of others on the road. The vehicle is no longer reliable or safe to drive under these conditions. Dealer Confirmation: The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, but no remedy has been provided, and no repair timeline has been given. Symptoms: Prior to the failure, no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were present, and the issue emerged suddenly while driving. Resolution Requested: I request an investigation into Chrysler-??s failure to resolve this recall in a timely manner. I urge the NHTSA to take corrective action to ensure that the necessary repairs are made promptly to avoid further risk to my safety and the safety of others.
On Nov 16, 2024 I was driving and turned a corner as soon as I did the engine light and another light came on with a message saying do not shift or turn off. I had it towed to Capital Jeep and they said it was my main and aux battery, a week later which was yesterday 11-29-24 the same lights and message came on, I pulled into the dealership and they said it was the green bus connecter behind the glove box, then today 11-30-24 I was driving same lights and message again, however this time I could not go passed 5 miles an hour. So now it-??s towed again and sitting at the dealership

My 2022 Jeep has an open recall and Not enough is being done to remedy the situation. I bought a -??hybrid jeep-?? to save on gas money and now I-??m spending more money on gas than ever. I want compensation!
Recall #95B one of many since I purchased my vehicle. Cannot use it for what it was purchased for which was to use electric and save gas money. Now recall states not to plug in vehicle and that it can catch fire and explode at any time running or not. I am scared to death to drive this vehicle and have my child anywhere near it. And it is our only vehicle which costs me over $1000 a month payment I can barely afford. Its causing us extreme stress and anxiety. I have been trying for months to get rid of this vehicle which has dropped over 50% in the value.
History since I leased this vehicle: 1. Charging cord froze to vehicle when parked at a charging station outside and would not detach until it thawed. 2. Car was recalled for a battery issue and was allegedly fixed. 3. Car later died. The battery was completely dead for no apparent reason. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealer for the battery to be replaced. They were not able to explain why the battery died. 4. Just received another recall for a High Voltage Battery fire risk issue that they have no remedy for as of yet. We are advised not to charge the vehicle or park it near any structures or other vehicles! 5. While driving home from work, the Jeep suddenly stopped moving. The console where the shift gear is began to flash and I had to put my foot on the brake, put the car into park and then put it back into drive to get it to move again. When it went back into drive it lurched forward. Luckily no one was behind me at the time or they likely would have smashed into me or I could have caused an accident. According to online research it is another on-going problem, one article reads there are hundreds of complaints on the Jeep forums with no fix saying: When customers take their Jeeps in, the service advisors have trouble diagnosing the issue. And while Jeep has issued some recalls, the problems remain and the electric Jeeps continue to fail.
I am writing to file a complaint regarding the recent safety recall (NHTSA Recall Numbers: 24V-720 and 24E-080) affecting my Chrysler vehicle. The recall pertains to a potential fire risk associated with the high-voltage battery pack. While I appreciate Chrysler-??s efforts to address this safety concern, I have serious reservations about the effectiveness of the proposed remedy. 1.Safety Concerns: I am worried about the safety of my vehicle-??s battery. The recall notice indicated that a battery pack may contain cells with separator damage that could lead to a vehicle fire. I find it concerning that the proposed remedy primarily involves a software update and inspection, rather than an immediate battery replacement, especially given the potential risks involved. 2.Request for Action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter further and consider whether the proposed remedy adequately addresses the safety risks posed by the high-voltage battery. I believe that consumers deserve clear information and effective solutions when it comes to potential safety defects in their vehicles. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response regarding the steps being taken to address this safety concern.
We recently got the Jeep back from being serviced for a problem (P0E15-00) that seems to be a common issue with a part (hybrid/EV battery pack coolant heater) that breaks every 15-30k miles. Yay! Ours was at just over 17k miles. Now, on top of all of this, I receive a notice for our fourth recall in 2 years, for a battery that could randomly catch fire and there is no fix known yet. The charger for the Jeep is literally right outside my children's bedrooms. If I want to charge my vehicle, I am potentially risking a fire right next to where my kids sleep. If I don't plug in, the whole point of us picking the plug-in hybrid is a total waste of our money. I also have to park next to an apartment building, let alone my other coworkers' vehicles when I go to work. I now feel like my vehicle is a ticking time bomb. I would love to be able to end my lease early to get out of this nightmare. At the very least is there an option for a loaner vehicle or rental reimbursement until this potentially extremely dangerous issue is repaired?
On February 14, 2023, as I was driving home from work at 4:30 pm, and luckily stopped at a traffic light, my Jeep shut down and showed a charging fault while I was nowhere near a charger. I was eventually able to restart the vehicle and make it the rest of the way home. We had the software updated, so hopefully that does not happen again. I was about halfway between my place of work and my home, which are about 8 mailes apart. My vehicle had 5373 miles on it at the time of the incident. Now my car is yet again under recall at risk of fire due to the battery and I am scared to drive it and have it near my home.
I am having an issue with the fire risk in the recall. There is no remedy and therefore I am unable to charge my vehicle or park it under a structure. I have reached out to Jeep in multiple departments and have gotten nowhere. This is unacceptable.
I own a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe, I purchased the vehicle new on [XXX] (purchased in TN, registered in VA). Since owning the vehicle it has been in the shop 9 times, most recently in the shop because it was completely dead and they found out the battery was leaking acid, this is the same battery they had just replaced a year earlier. It has lost all power and shut off several times, Jeep continues to say there is no issue. The loss of power is concerning because it happens when driving on busy roadways. I filed 2 lemon claims with them, both times offered $2800 for inconveniences and $3600 the last time. I have also been instructed to park the vehicle outside of my garage and told it might be a good idea to not charge it daily due to a fire hazard, when buying a hybrid, I paid extra in hopes to get better gas mileage when traveling to and from work, now I put my children's lives in jeopardy everyday while driving it! And most recently when driving across a bridge or rough roads (I live in the south so rough roads are an everyday thing), it has started shaking so badly that I have pulled off the road due to fear of the vehicle flipping or causing an accident. It is frustrating to pay for a vehicle that is a hazard and does not work properly. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Jeep was parked. Charging. Neighbors ran over to tell us they saw it smoking. Electric battery ignited. Jeep caught on fire. Took 3 hours to get jeep cooled enough to tow it away. Electric battery was still at 180? when towed.
E-torque battery issue. My e-torque battery was having issues for 20k miles that caused a -??stored-?? code to appear saying the e-torque had a fault. I started bringing in the wrangler at 35,500 miles still under bumper to bumper warranty but because it was a stored code there was no repair order issued. This continued until around 50k miles when the jeep started shutting off at low speeds. The dealer took it in and Jeep Corporate stated that because it was still a stored code they would not release the battery pack needed for the repair. The dealer fought the warranty department for 3 weeks holding on to my vehicle. They eventually returned the car to me un-repaired per Jeep Corp instruction. The check engine light came on days after it was returned to me. No repair but documented at dealer. 12 days after the car was repaired it died again rolling to a stop light and then again in the same trip. The second time, it died in rush hour traffic, with a semi truck behind me. Thankfully I was traveling at about 20 miles an hour and the semi had several car lengths behind me because it shut off as though it was so dead it was sitting in my driveway. It did start back up when I placed it in park. I drove it to the dealer where they kept it for 2 more months fighting warranty to release the battery pack. I went through five jeep cares case managers and had multiple -??star cases-?? that were opened and closed without the dealership being made aware at times that they were closed. They finally approved the repair. I have had the vehicle returned to me and plan to sell it as soon as possible because I do not know when this next battery pack will fail.
UNKNOWN. This recall has been on my vehicle for approximately a year and a half, with no fix. I have not parked my vehicle in my garage due to fear of the pressure plate in the clutch catching on fire.
A vehicle cross my path required full application of braking, locking all 4 wheels. During this event, the automatic ignition shutoff (AIS) was enabled. As a result of AIS and the lack of ABS, and, hence a 4 wheel lock-up, the AIS shutoff the engine, causing loss of power steering and power brakes. The resulting vehicle behavior required immediate and severe steering wheel correction with substantial additional force to prevent a collision with the vehicle in my path. Had I not previously had driver safety training as well as significant high performace driving experience I likley would have collided with the other vehicle. My assertion is the combination of AIS and the lack of ABS resulting in 4 wheel lock may had led to a collision resulting in sever injury to the other driver.
I was stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake, and had been for at least 30 seconds. The jeep all the sudden revved and started moving forward. I continued to push on the brake but the jeep didn't stop. I attempted to turn the jeep to the right to avoid the car in front of me, but was unable and slammed into the back of the car. Despite my foot being on the brake the jeep continued to rev even after I hit the car. I put the jeep in park and it stopped revving. A police report was filed. There was damage caused to the car in front of me. The jeep has not been able to be taken to the dealership yet for inspection.
The car starts to shudder after driving over a gap in the road or bumpy pavement. Usually at around 50-60mph. Had two episodes that were minor and then a week later on the same drive two more episodes with much more intense vibrations. Had to quickly reduce speed to stop the resonance and vibration in each case. Will be checking for loose parts below the vehicle, which has about 8500 miles on it.
