Sometime in January of 2019, while living in Florida my Jeep had recall work done to make repairs related to the -??death wobble-?? prevalent in 2018-2020 Jeeps. In 2020, after purchasing the vehicle, I experienced the death wobble. I then took my vehicle in to Orlando Chrysler, and was informed that when the recall repair was done, the part involved was installed backwards. The completed the necessary repair. I had not experienced the situation again until yesterday, when I picked up my Jeep from the Dodge dealership in Greenville, South Carolina, where Another recall was being dealt with. I returned to the dealership and was told in no uncertain terms they did nothing, and because there are no outstanding recalls on the vehicle related to the death wobble, they are under no obligation to do anything about it, including checking to see if the previously recalled parts that were replaced need replacing again. However, as it is occurring again my Jeep is once again unsafe to drive.

While driving at interstate speed and passing over an irregular surface the jeep started to shimmy and I later found out it was called "Death Wobble". The jeep started to wonder across the lanes of the highway and I had to slow to 45 mph to stop the shimmy and get control of the vehicle, I assume the the problem is in the steering or the front suspension. After talking to a mechanic I found out that a recall has already been performed to replace the steering vibration damper. The mechanic could not find any loose or damaged front end parts upon inspection. Since the initial incident the shimmy has happened multiple times at slower and slower speeds. There was no prior warning by the jeep instrument panel.

The front suspension steering damper on my vehicle not effectively damp oscillation of the steering system, resulting in a sustained shake or shimmy in the steering wheel. This can be more noticeable when driving at speeds exceeding 55 Miles Per Hour (MPH) 88 Kilometers Per hour (KPH) after contacting a bumpy road surface and in temperatures below 40? Fahrenheit (5? Celsius).

Had damper replaced due to death wobble at 39k miles under extended warranty related to FCA lawsuit. At 59k miles experienced same death wobble and nearly crashed at highway speeds. Took it in and they said the cause was the tie rods were bad, damper was within threshold, but would replace it too as a courtesy and abundance of caution. Wouldn-??t do damper replacement without tie rod fix though. Didn-??t have damper and would take 5 days to get in (1 day for tie rod part), but when I stated I wanted to repair it they miraculously came up with all the parts and had it finished before tie rod part even showed up. My complaint is that the original FCA lawsuit where they replaced damper was a bandaid for the real problem which is the tie rods. I paid the $2500 but will be pushing this up the chain of command. I know the lawsuit alluded to the damper not being the root of the problem but a cheaper fix for Jeep. The entire experience has been shady at best. Stew Hansen-??s in Des Moines, Iowa was the service department.

I bought this 2019 jeep wrangler and it is still under manufacturer warranty on the transmission and the steering damper. The transmission in my car was leaking bad and I took it to the jeep dealership and they did not know what was wrong or how to fix it. They are all incompetent and stupid and unprofessional and know nothing about cars also the recall on the steering damper was done 2 years ago and now I had to replace it because the car was dangerously shaking very bad. The transmission is still under manufacturer warranty and I took it to another shop and he fixed the leak in the transmission and he said it-??s it-??s the cooler line connector in the transmission so this repair that cost me 478 dollars should be refunded to me from Jeep manufacturer since it-??s still under warranty

When driving at speeds of approximately 45+ the front end for no apparent reason begins to violently shake back & forth making the vehicle impossible to control. You must immediately put on the brakes to slow the vehicle until the wobbling stops. This has progressively gotten worse. It-??s what is referred to as the Jeep death wobble. It is in the shop now waiting to be looked at.

Driving 60+ miles you hit a bump and the truck starts shaking real bad the whole truck That the only way to make the vehicle stop from shaking is slowing down the speed to 30 mph or complete stop until it goes away the terrible shaking. I already reemplace many suspension parts like the track bar, tie rod and the drag link and still having that issue

This issue has been going on for over a year now. Vehicle shakes violently when leaving uneven surfaces such as coming off of a bridge on the highway. You have to come to a complete stop to get it to stop shaking. This is very dangerous when on a highway. Vehicle has been inspected by local dealership and parts have been ordered but continue to be on backorder. The dealership states that they have seen other jeeps with this issue. I personally know people who have also experienced this, and not all have the same year as my jeep.

I have a 2019 Jeep wrangler. Within the first 3 months of having my jeep I experienced issues with the battery. I came to a stop at a stop sign, the auto on/of turned the vehicle off but then it wouldn't come back on when I tried to drive. It showed a battery light and the auto on/off sign with an exclamation mark first then all lights on the dashboard started flickering, windshield wipers came on, and then it started beeping. I had to get a tow truck to get my car out the street. When I took it to the dealership they said both batteries needed to be replaced. Since then I have had the same situation happen twice for a total of 3 times in my 1 year of having the car. Each time I have to tow the jeep to the dealership and replace the batteries. They check the fuse but can't figure out the cause. As for the steering, I cannot go over 80 mph without experiencing "death wobble".

The front axle steering stabilizer shock/damper failed at approximately 36 months after delivery, to the point where the the front end shakes violently when the vehicle goes over a bump at highway speeds and the front tires hit the bump at diffferent times, i.e., diagonal overpass joint. This is a known issue, commonly referred to as "death wobble." Stellantis has settled a class action lawsuit related to this phenomon, Reynolds, et. al. vs FCA US LLC, and extended the vehicle warranty for this issue to 8 years and 90,000 miles. That's all well and good. Here's the problem: There are no parts available. Jeep has sourced a FOX SHOX steering stabilizer but it has been on continual backorder since October 2022. My vehicle was diagnosed in November 2022. I can't get a part at least until the end of summer 2023. An extended warranty doesn't help if I can't get the unsafe condition fixed. There is another FOX SHOX product available that will solve this problem but it is a more expensive part. There are also other suppliers that can provide an acceptable part. Jeep has shown zero urgency to take care of their customers, and FOX SHOX is obviously overwhelmed with the demand. Stellantis and Jeep need to act with more urgency to find sufficient parts to fix the affected vehicles, even if it means sourcing a higher-priced part.

I purchased this vehicle used and out of warranty in February of this year 2023. I've had continuous issues with the steering. I have contacted my local dealerships explaining my issues. I've contacted FCA explaining my issues. By both I'm told I need to bring my vehicle in for a diagnostic test that will cost me $250 plus dollars and then ANY REPAIR will cost out of pocket. The vehicle wonders while driving at speeds any speed, but more so at highway speeds, I have almost 2" of slop in my steering wheel, a shimmy in the front and have experienced DEATH WOBBLE numerous times. My family will not ride in my wrangler and I personally feel it is UNSAFE as well. I have already personally replaced ball joints and an aftermarket steering stabilizer in hopes of correcting these issues. I learned that FCA is aware of an issue with the aluminum steering gear of which my wrangler still has. I also learned of a TSB for the steering stabilizer, track bar and software update for the power steering itself. As previously stated ALL MY SYMPTOMS ARE EXACTLY AS THESE TSB'S DESCRIBE, and I had no knowledge of them prior to purchasing and experiencing these issues.

Was driving interstate in San Diego, CA about 65 mph and on 4 different occasions when I hit a bump or rough patch of road the front end of the car and steering wheel started shaking violently. It was hard to control the vehicle and I had nowhere I could go because I was in traffic at high speeds. Was finally able to move over to a side lane and slow the vehicle down which caused the shaking to stop. No lights of any kind came on in the vehicle. Very dangerous for this to be happening on CA roads with such heavy traffic. Not only does it put me at risk, but others as I have to slow down to 40-45 mph for the shaking to stop. Will be taking it in to dealership for inspection. As I have researched...this appears to be another case of the "death wobble".

I experienced the Jeep Death Wobble on 5 occasions. All five happened at 60 mph or above. The car would suddenly shake violently and felt like it was falling apart. I feared i couldn't steer it, which I had a hard time doing, until i calmed down and started braking. When i got to a slower speed it went back to normal. The front track bar was replaced and an alignment was needed again at 12,000 miles. I first noticed the car going out of alignment before this all happened, then the wobble followed at higher speeds. It was a very scary experience all five times. I read about it and found that the last few times when i hit a small bump it would activate the wobble until i slowed down. This is very upsetting for me as my daughter also drives the car and I feel it is now unsafe since the car is out of alignment once again after 3 months. Jeep needs to address this ASAP. The car has 13,000 miles and is a 2019.
