Just had the steering damper recall performed - never had any wobble issues before completing the recall. I completed the recall as I thought that was what good car owners do. Now, just 3 days later I am experiencing the wobble at highway speeds. Very scary! had the entire family in the car coming home from dinner - did not hit any irregular bumps or anything out of the norm. Was driving on the highway on a stretch we drive almost daily and out of nowhere, just hitting some "normal" Michigan road bumps the steering wheel and front end started shaking. It eventually stopped itself - but then happened 5 more times. We did not know what was going on as we were not aware of the issue or even why there was a recall repair. After getting home and searching the internet I found all sorts of complaints and the reasoning behind the recall. Ironically again, I did not have the issue before I had the recall work completed. After reading the article I immediately left a message for my service manager at the dealership and then looked under the Jeep to confirm that in-fact the part was replaced and had the correct part number. I do want to mention that even before the wobble I did mention to my wife and notice that I thought that the steering was a bit more "loose" after getting the car back. Not sure if that is relevant, but thought I would note that here as well.

Wandering and loose steering issue persist. 1. steering wandering first wheel alignment was off and it had to be redone. Problem still occurred than was informed that Wrangler aren't meant to go highway speeds. 2. ac blows out warm air and was told that's normal. Today I brought in for the first oil change and 3. steering damper recall. Well good thing I double checked their work. They installed the replacement recalled part the wrong way. Now the Jeep wandering is worse and the vehicle shakes at highway speed. We can't keep the Jeep straight.

On Friday, September 20, 2019, we were towing our Jeep Wrangler behind our 25 foot coachman prism rv on highway 95 in Maryland. We hit a bump in the highway going about 70 mph and our rv was shaking so bad and sounded like we had a flat tire. The shaking wouldn't stop so within a half mile we managed to pull over to the breakdown lane and stop. We got out and checked all the tires because we thought we had a flat tire. Nothing was wrong. We continued on a trip about 5 miles further up the road it happened a second time. This time we couldn't pull over but we slow down and the shaking went away. We reached our destination and met up with family and before we could tell them what happened my sister who had just bought a Jeep Wrangler two weeks earlier asked if we had heard about the death wobble. I went online and learned about the death wobble and I'm certain this is what was occurring to our Jeep while being towed. We had already replaced the damper as a recall and this still occurred. Went to the dealership today and over the weekend they're replacing some bars underneath the front of the Jeep. The reason for my reporting this is I learned that the damper being replaced is supposed to be a fix and since we already had it replaced but didn't understand why they were replacing it months ago it's still occurred to our Jeep.

I purchased my 'new' 2018 jl Jeep Wrangler/rubicon less than one month ago. It has under 1400 miles on it and I have had to get out and check my tires numerous times thinking one was flat because it was pulling to one side. It is very hard to control and it looks like I am intoxicated while driving this vehicle. It looks like one recall on the steering damper was replaced before the purchase, but not even sure if it was really replaced. The left rear shock was leaking and supposably replaced too. Under warranty of course. I will be contacting a Chrysler dealership tomorrow and calling Jeep. I want them to check the alignment, steering and make sure the recall was completed properly. I will be taking it to a different dealership than the one that I purchased it from. I am devastated and worried about my safety, my family's safety and the safety of others on the rode. Chrysler needs to address this issue. I will also be having a specialist checking the welds as well after reading through these complaints. With winter on its way, I will have no choice but to drive it. It will be scary on treacherous winter roads. I also was driving an avg of 68 on a two lane highway and went over a small smooth bump in the road... the kind that makes your stomach tickle.... I about lost control. It is so hard to keep in your driving lane. I have drove a Jeep since 2010 and always said I wouldn't buy anything else. I really hope Chrysler will take care of their Jeep family and fix this problem. Makes me sick to think I just spent $43000 on a vehicle I shouldn't drive. The premium audio is also 'not premium'.... awful. Various speeds, various mileage at time of events- notice right away after purchase, however thought I just needed to get use to driving a new vehicle.

I have had nothing but issues with this vehicle. From incorrect welds (which the dealership deemed as okay until I had a third-party look at them) to steering issues (wobble, drift, etc.), it's been a complete nightmare. I'm stuck paying for a vehicle that will not hold its value over time and am so afraid to drive it that I've only put 1,600 miles on the vehicle since I purchased it in August of 2018. If I could have one wish, it would be to pull this vehicle from the market and request that fca does a full buyback for vehicles with recalled issues. They are lying to the NHTSA, their customers, and shareholders. I don't know what to do.

The car randomly does not start. After driving around town for errands over the course of 3-7 days, it suddenly won't start. It will eventually start after waiting for about 25-40 minutes. This began a few days after I purchased the car in April 2019 and has continued since. It is at the dealer now, (after finally negotiating a paid rental from them) but they are not driving it enough to recreate the trigger in order to investigate and fix it. Here is a link to a video I made of a recent occurrence: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=agx72yj0_ew&T=3S. Here are links to blog posts from other Jeep jk 2018 unlimited customers experiencing the same thing: Https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-T75977_ds983916 https://www.wranglerforum.com/F202/help-new-2018-jk-won-T-always-start-2228306.html... I googled my VIN number and a search result came up implying that my "new" car might actually be used. See the attached screenshot.

Issue with the uconnect operating system. System continually freezes and fails to respond while driving. Backup camera freezes and at times does not turn on when backing. Apple car play and android auto malfunctions. The calls stay connected but drop from the in-car audio back to the phone forcing you to unplug and then plug back in the phone while driving. System operates most of the cars electrical functions. Been in for service 3 times and have shown proof of malfunction and Chrysler and dealer refuse to replace unit. Chrysler says the phones and carriers are the issue. System fails with both iphone 7 on verizon and samsung note 8 on T-mobile. It is illegal to operate a motor vehicle in Georgia and use your cell phone at the same time and the system failure puts you at risk when you are required to unconnect and reconnect phone while driving.

I purchased vehicle in Feb 2018. Within the first week or two started having problems. A coworker purchased a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. She returned it in two months because it would not start. Another coworker's girlfriend purchased a 2018 rubicon with engine light problems, starting issues, and radio not working. My vehicle history: Rear defroster sensor on back window does not stay secured. 4th return to dealer. Second window to be replaced. Panel light for rear window defroster continues to light, but sensor is not connected. Have been on wait list since March 2019 for new window to arrive. It appears the sensor cord is too short to reach window when raising. Death wobble has happened 3X while in motion on highway and has been at the dealership 3X for this issue. Vehicle does not correct itself while driving and it feels like the vehicle is coming apart. Had to continue driving on the highway, slowing down did not correct the problem, until I reached a safe place to pull over. Once coming to a complete stop, it corrected itself. The Jeep looses total control and I am afraid something may come apart causing injury or death. Freedom tops had rattle inside of them with huge wind noise when in motion. Problem corrected when dealership switched out freedom tops. Now the freedom top is too big for freedom bag. The bag appears to be coming apart when zipped. Drove to store and got out of the vehicle. Tried to remote lock the vehicle, which failed. Tried to start Jeep, it would not start. Followed instructions on panel to use key by placing close to remote start button. After a second try it started. Radio playing two stations at one time. Back camera would not work. Key fob replaced as it was falling apart. Armrest replaced, would not connect when enclosed in holder. All began in 2/2018. Date I am about to enter below is for the wobble.
