We received the recall notice on 1/9/14 (N28) that our transmission oil cooler tube needed to be replaced. I called our dealer to make an appointment and be sure that the part was available. I heard back from the dealer that the replacement tube was on back order, that Chrysler was sending the parts to dealers in batches every three weeks, that I was now on a waiting list, and it could take months before I was able to have the recall repair completed, as Chrysler was not providing the part to its dealers fast enough. I was told to call back every three weeks to find out my wait list status. When I asked what would happen if my transmission went out before the repair, the gentleman on the phone said that I could sue Chrysler! if the NHTSA has required a recall by Chrysler, Chrysler needs to make these parts available quickly and, if I just received the recall notice, how can there be a waiting list for the part at my dealer?

I received a recall on the transmission oil cooler tube for the above vehicle. The parts are on restriction and as a result can only be ordered every 16 days. They typical waiting list is 10 to 15 people which means I will be waiting at least 160 days for this repair. The recall acknowledgement began in June 2013. The company has had 6 months to stockpile the parts necessary to make repair rather than send out the notice and then force customers to wait 6 months, possibly with a faulty vehicle, for the repair. This is unacceptable.

In August 2013 I received safety recall N28 / NHTSA / 13C-234 transmission oil cooler tub for my 2013 Jeep Wrangler rubicon, I received a second notification in October 2013. After receiving the second notification I contacted the dealership where I purchased my Jeep and was told I was third on their list to have the safety recall completed. My sales rep. Explained the reason for the delay was Chrysler requires the dealership send back the faulty transmission oil cooler tube they replaced before Chrysler would send out a new one. He informed me I was third on the list for Jeep effected by the recall and once they reached my name and receive a new transmission oil cooler tube they would contact me. In early December 2013, I contacted them again and I'm still third on the list for replacement. I asked why I was still third, he could not provide me an answer, but informed me he would look into it, over two weeks later still no answer or notification. I don't understand the procedure Chrysler is following, however waiting 4 months for the replacement of a faulty piece of equipment seems ridiculous, especially when the public's safety is in jeopardy.

I have been trying since 8/13 to have the transmission oil cooler tube replaced under safety recall N28/NHTSA 13V-234. Local dealership in manahawkin keeps telling me no parts are available. Chrysler group recall assistance center has been telling me the same. I understand my transmission is at risk which may increase my risk of a crash. I think 4 months wait time is extremely excessive, with no end in sight.

This pertains to NHTSA 13V-234. I was first notified of this by Chrysler in August/2013. Finally in November, I was allowed to bring my Jeep in to the dealer for inspection. They confirmed parts must be replaced and they were ordered. Now I am informed by the dealer and a phone call to Chrysler, that they will only allow their dealers to obtain replacement parts once every 14 days. I am further informed that there are many people in front of me on the dealer's list so with only being able to order 2 replacement parts per month, it could be months before my Jeep is repaired. My wife is afraid of driving the vehicle with this issue looming. Can this safety recall really be treated this way by Chrysler" is there something NHTSA can do"
