The air bag light on the dashboard just randomly alerts off and on and this was at the same time all the left side panels of the steering wheel stopped working including the horn. If someone is sitting in the passenger side front seat and their distribution of weight shifts the air bag passenger alert system let's you know it's not functioning properly. I was told the problem has something to do with a clockspring and it's air bag wiring under the passenger side front seat to the alert system. I saw on this site where it mentioned a clockspring problem.it does this whether stopped or going. This is continuously an issue now. Please advise how I need to proceed with the recall.

The heater on my Jeep, which only has 41,000 miles on it, slowly stopped working. I took it to the dealer to have them check it out. The called later that day and said I need a new heater core which costs $1200. The next day the called back and said that I actually need a new heater core, radiator, thermostat, etc. Basically the whole heating/cooling system for the engine and the estimate is up to $2200. I looked online and found that this is not a new problem which is frustrating. It seems like it is a radiator problem that sends particles through the system and clogs the heater core. I'm hoping that there will be a recall so that I can recoup some of this $2200 that I'm about to have to pay to fix my Jeep. Especially since this is a manufacturing defect apparently!

My Jeep Wrangler jku has the same engine as the Chrysler 200, the 3.6 pentastar. The heat doesn't work. It doesn't matter if it reaches operating temp. The fluids are at optimum level, new thermostat. Performed a radiator flush and other heat trouble shooting checked out. I have about 88,000 miles. The dealer ship did some work on a cylinder head and discounted. At first I thought it was a favor but after I looked into the fix, I found others with same fixes.

The heat just stopped working. I see this is a known issue and presented lawsuit against Jeep. It was working fine, stopped at store then nothing but cold air on the way home. Once finally home, turned car off then back on a few minutes later. Still cold air. Turned on high then all the way cold then all the way back to hot and finally warm air again. Please correct this issue. This is suppose to be the "most american car". that's why I bought this tank. Time to do the american thing and back your product and do the right thing.

There are many of these vehicles that were manufactured in Mexico and they had issues leaving residue in heater coil making the heat not work properly. If the heat does not work properly it can cause issues with person not being able to see due to heat not being effective enough to defrost a frosty or icy windshield. Jeep has been aware of this problem but will not issue a recall and the burden is pushed off onto the consumer. These are costly repairs and I am sure many people can not afford the repair the vehicle properly. I have also contacted Chrysler. If you google "no heat in 2012 Jeep" all the complaints are the exact same. This is major safety issue to anyone owning a vehicle that may not having warm air to keep windows clear of debris.

When driving my Jeep it has shut off on its own. Today I when from drive to reverse and was trying to park on a busy street and the vehicle just shut off on its own. I had to put the vehicle in park turn the key to the off position and then start the vehicle again before I could drive again. This is very dangerous and could possibly kill someone if this happens on the interstate. Ive read many reports on line of people having the same problem.

I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with 26000 miles. It has never been off road or damaged. It recently started stalling. It has been to the dealership 3 times for this problem. Initially none of the diagnostics found anything and they gave it back. It continued to stall while stopped and stalled, temporarily, on the metro train tracks. I took it back to the dealership and they again could not find anything wrong-based on my reading I suggested it might be the tipm. The dealership drove it again and said it did stall on the mechanic. So they fixed something ($700) dealing with the power. I picked it up and it stalled on me again on the next day. I called the dealership (river oaks Jeep in houston) and they did not return my call. I have also submitted an online report. 2 days ago, the Jeep again stalled while I was reversing out of a driveway. I put it back into park from reverse and restarted it. It restarted but would not go into gear. I then turned it off again, restarted again and it then went into gear and allowed me to get out of the way of oncoming cars. This pattern of stalling, being unable to go back into gear, requiring turning it off and restarting has been recurrent and has occurred exactly like that about 8 total times now. It additionally will be full of gas, going at a consistent speed down the road and the engine just "gives" and almost feels like it pauses. When it's in motion, it hasn't actually stalled, only when idling or in reverse.. I feel like at this point this is a major safety concern. The vehicle is no longer under warranty just due to the years since purchase but is under the required mileage. I see online that Jeep/Chrysler has had multiple issues with the tipm in other models and believe that this may bee the cause of these electrical problems

I was involved in a single vehicle accident on 10/5/15, traveling approximately 30mph, when my Jeep suddenly jerked to the right without warning, causing it to swerve off the road and into a ditch. The Jeep hit the front end of the ditch at an angle that launched it airborne, then landed on the cement wall of a culvert approximately two feet away. The Jeep bounced twice on the cement wall, cracking the frame in two places, then landed in the culvert, hit the front end of the culvert, then hit a small pole where it finally stopped. Despite slamming on the brakes the entire time, nothing in the vehicle seemed to be working. My airbags did not deploy and my seatbelts did not engage, causing me to slam my forehead on the steering wheel with each impact (3-4 times, I honestly don't recall) and hitting my chest once on the steering wheel. I called Chrysler to report the incident after the insurance adjuster raised concerns about the airbags not deploying, and was given a case number and told I would be contacted. After a number of further attempts to contact them, they have refused to return my calls or acknowledge my complaints. I am now aware of a number of recalls regarding the orc module in many Chrysler vehicles, and wonder if this could have been a contributing factor in my accident. I suffered a severe concussion and was out of work for three months. I had to quit my second job, causing significant financial strain on my family. I have since had chronic neck pain and migraines, an mri showed traumatic disc herniations at C2-6, for which I have to see a neurosurgeon. I have had multiple injections and other procedures on my neck since the accident, but continue to have pain daily. At my request, my insurance company has kept the totaled Jeep, untouched, in a secured lot, until I can find someone to help me determine why the seatbelts failed to protect me.

This is a known problem and yet still not recalled the tipm just failed in the Jeep (second one in a month) this time it did it while driving. The Jeep went all ape [xxx]. alarms going off, trying to restart, the speedometer wouldn't work. I thought I was going to crash and die. Happened on the highway and continued when I got on to the city streets the dealer mech said it probably went bad again(in less than a month) I see many people with the same issues(other SUVS from same company have recall on the part, just not the Wrangler) information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The heat shield baffle above the muffler becomes completely unattached because both the nuts holding it in place and baffle itself corrode away. The baffle then drops on to the muffler and rattles. The baffle is made of very thin metal. This Jeep is a 2012 with only 30000 miles.

From: Customer vehicle: 2012 Jeep Wrangler sport, purchased new in 2012. Reference: Problems in heating system to whom it may concern, I purchased a new 2012 Jeep Wrangler sport from hendrick Chrysler Jeep in fayetteville, nc. Fourteen months later, I moved to Florida, where there was no need to use the heater. Upon my return to North Carolina in the winter of 2014, I noticed that heater on the driver's side was not as warm as the passenger's side. The following winter, the heat on the driver's side faded to a point where it was barely working. After researching the issue and speaking with a representative at hendrick Jeep service center, I learned that the heater core was likely the problem and that I would need to flush the heater core. In January 2015, I took my Jeep to a private mechanic to have the heater core flushed, which fixed the problem for a short time. Research online among Jeep owners of my model and year revealed that the long-term solution is a new radiator and heater core (neither of which are under warranty or under recall). The poor cleaning at the time of manufacturing has caused the casting of sand in the heater core and radiator, resulting build up that blocks heat. Now, in winter of 2016, my heater does not work. I cannot find a recall or a rebate for the more than $2,400 dealer estimate I received to replace my heater core and radiator. I found a Chrysler star case (see attachment) that gives steps to fix the problem without acknowledging its origins in manufacturing. I have emailed Chrysler with a request for support, to no avail. Given that this problem is so widespread and consistant among Jeep owners of my model and year, I wanted to share the case with the recall Agency, although I know this is not a direct 'safety issue.'

I work for usps and it is a right hand Jeep I notice smoke coming from the vents of my Jeep.. I stopped looked under hood seen no fire. Scared to death and not knowing what was going on.. I sit there for a while and it stopped. Call dealership and took it to them and they returned to me with "no obvious problem". approximately 2 weeks later it happen again. Smoke coming from vents.. this time my Jeep caught fire and burned to the ground!! I later discovered, after the fire, that my vehicle was subject to a recall that I never received.. I took my 2012 Jeep into a dealer spirit Dodge in swedesboro NJ 08085 Saturday 2/27/16 my complaint was no heat. I was told it needs a heater core a radiator, and trans cooler. And that my easy care extended warranty did not cover it even though it says it covers heat. My easy care contract number is egtk886782. My Jeep has 52000 miles. They said it has sludge in the system. Now my system is not schuelded to be cleaned flushed till 60 month. So it failed before the time. I was told it's a know problem but they have not recalled them. I bought the Jeep at vann Dodge in vineland NJ. So I really feel cheated. I have had no heat for a while but I didn't report right away

2012 Jeep Wrangler was put in neutral and started with the ebrake up. I let up on the clutch as I exited the vehicle. As soon as my feet hit the ground, the vehicle accelerated at full speed and drove 60 ft, crashing completely through the garage door and ripping it off. Jeep claims that the vehicle is in properly functioning condition since they cannot repeat this independent acceleration.

The horn does not work. All controls on the steering wheel are not working. (cruise control, radio volume and tuning, reset buttons) the signal lights do not turn off automatically. The check engine light stays on, and the air bag light also stays on. A diagnostics was performed showing clock spring needs to be replaced. My complaint is that this is the second time I have had this happen. My Jeep is a right-hand drive which I use for mail delivery. Chrysler covered the cost with half a warranty the first time. This was August 2014 with 68000 miles. The second time was December 2015 with 86000 miles. Chrysler is saying they can not help. This has been a recall on other right hand drive Jeep in my post office. Mine is doing the same thing, therefore I feel that it should be covered fully to be replaced.

Faulty clockspring airbag light appears sporadically when vehicle is in motion and I have someone in the passenger seat, notifying me that their airbag is deactivated. Horns volume is weak. Possibly a coincidence, but the low tire pressure alert appears at start-up. All tires (Goodyear LT285/70R17) read 45-50 psi. This part is recalled in 2007 and 2008 Jeep Wrangler, but not for 2009-2016. It is the exact same part.
