Renegade Latitude 2.4L

When backing car out of garage, brakes make a high pitched noise. I cannot believe this is normal for a 3,000 mile car.

Renegade Latitude 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

My brakes began to squeak a few weeks after owning the brand new vehicle. I figured it would just take time to wear in the brakes, but boy I was wrong, The problem consistently became worse and I was at the point where I would do anything to have my Mustang back. I took the car to the dealership and they "fixed" the problem.. Two weeks later, I am now taking the car back to the dealership because the squeaking began again. I have read forums where 75% of Renegade owners are experiencing this same issue. When will it be fixed?

I am taking in a work order from another Renegade owner, explaining the problem and how that dealership fixed the brakes. The report states that the TSB 05-010-15 pertains to the squealing brakes and these are the parts they used to fix them:

1364 WLH 1 68299399AA Pad Kit- Front Disc Brake 4 68300566AA Bolt- Hex Flange Head

This report states the service action as such: 0570229P Pad, disc brake - Replace/Repair Pads, Disc Brake - Replace Front and Remove Sealant from caliper bracket mounting Surfaces.

I really wish Jeep would issue a recall for this issue and have everyone's brakes fixed.

I took my car in for oil change and another issue and got it back to find out that the brakes and rotors needed replacement because the wrong ones were put on (I guess from Jeep). Was advised this is not a safety issue, just annoying since it causes noise.

Renegade Limitied 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

I took multiple videos of it, had to replicate it driving with mechanic. Jeep dealership says the solution is cleaning excessive sealant from the front brake caliper adaptor brackets and replacing the adaptor bracket mounting bolts.

Renegade Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

I can't drive more than 5 minutes without my brakes squealing loud when I stop. It's terrible that you drive a brand new car and the bakes are as loud as they are and everyone stares.. Doesn't look good that I am driving a Jeep to on lookers and the brand new Renegade at that.

My dealership says its normal... no it's not normal. I have had a car that was 15 years old and no squeals what so ever. Jeep needs to get this fixed. It looks awful on them and its a pain in my ass because its so embarrassing.

Renegade

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,200 miles

In under 3000 miles the brakes have developed a loud squeal when backing up or moving forward after being parked for a couple hours. Had been repaired at 980 miles and started noise again in less than 2000 more miles.

Update from Aug 19, 2015: The dealer service department has worked on my brake system twice. The now tell me that they cannot do any more for me and that I will have to take my complaint on to the Jeep company.
