"takata recall" I had this vehicle for over a year. About two months in it started shutting off, all the lights on the dashboard lights up for no reason. Sometime when I drive the headlights shut of and the vehicle starts shaking tremendously. The vehicle occasionally stops when I am driving on the interstate or wherever. I have taken it in on numerous occasions but the dealer cannot seem to find the problem.

After filling my gas tank and grocery shopping, I came out to my car and it wouldn't start, I then had it towed to my local Jeep dealership, they diagnosed it as a faulty tipm sensor, after researching online, turns out I am one of hundreds of thousands dealing with the same issue, Chrysler should have to be held responsible for knowingly continuing to install faulty sensors and then not assisting with repairs. Outrageous!!! what is the point of investing in an american brand when they are not held accountable?? losing all my faith...

I own a 2011 Jeep Liberty sport 4X4. The tipm is failing. When the car warms up, all of the dash warning lights illuminate, the speedometer fails and the accelerator fails. On some occasions the Jeep fails to idle and dies, on other occasions the car idles too high on it's own like someone is revving the engine all on its own. I have taken it to the dealership and they have diagnosed a faulty tipm module, which will cost $1200 to replace. However, they are unable to obtain a tipm module due to none being available. I was told it could be months before they can get one in, due to the massive demand. I noticed there is a recall on this module for 2011 Jeep Liberty's manufactured after June 2011. My vehicle was manufactured before that date. I see that Chrysler recently settled a class action law suit for this same problem in other vehicles. I work for a prestigious product liability law firm and plan to look into another class action. This problem needs to be recalled for all affected vehicles.

I was driving in town 30 miles per hour, and the lift gate light came on. I opened and shut the gate and the indicator light went off. I started to drive again and the light came on agin which causes the interior lights to come on and shine right in my eyes. I am going to get it fixed, they said there is corrosion in the switch and it causes the problem. The other thing is when it gets cold out, I can't lock the doors. If I do in 5 to 15 minutes the lights start flashing and the horn starts honking, until I unlock the doors. This happened last year when it got cold also. When I took it in to have it looked at, it was not doing this, so they said just see what happens. Now it is cold and it is acting up again. I work at a prison and need to lock my vehicle. I can't drive it to work at all right now.

Today and six days ago I parked my Jeep, turned off the ignition and removed my key. I went to start my car about one hour later and there were no display lights on my dashboard. The vehicle would not start and the shift lever could not be moved. I thought I might have a dead battery. A friend stopped by my car. He tried to start the car with my key. No electrical power or lights were present. He opened the hood and said everything looked fine. He closed the hood hard. He put the key in the ignition and moved it around. The display lights came on and the car started. I had the battery checked and it was fine. I put a new battery in the car less than one year ago. The same thing happened today while I was at the post office. Is this an electrical problem or a bad ignition? a neighbor said he heard something about an ignition problem with Chrysler.

Electrical icons continue to appear on dashboard like traction, ABS, service engine soon, gauge for RPM is 0 mp, engine gauge remain at engine speed. When taken to Jeep dealership for repair I was told there was nothing wrong with the Jeep it is running correctly. And yet the Jeep cut completely down for 10 mins on the expressway. When on the street all icons come on and I have to pull over because Jeep has shut down.

So yesterday after work I get in my car and start it, and I noticed my airbag light came on. I figured maybe the sensor was triggered by the hot weather but that still didn't make sense. So I look up what I should do in the manual and it says take it to the dealer (they were closed). The next day, I thought surely the code would clear and all would be well. To my surprise my light was still on. I take my car to the dealership to get checked out (mind you, I have 2 warranties on this car) and I just know it will be covered. Wrong! I was shocked and dismayed to find out that my airbag has 2 problems, the seat belt sensor has blown out and the the airbag module is blown out (meaning it will not deploy if I get in an accident). On top of all this, neither of these problems are covered by my $4,000 warranty and will cost me $910 before taxes. Seriously"?" I shouldn't have to pay a dime extra for what I was under the impression of already purchasing: A safe vehicle. This is absolutely unacceptable. Please do something about this soon. Someone could die.

While driving home from the grocery store, the dome lights and gate open warning light came on. Since it was after dark, the light from the dome light was blinding and made it very difficult to see. I immediately pulled over and checked the tailgate. The tailgate and window were both firmly latched. When starting to drive again, it went out but almost immediately came back on. Fortunately I was about a mile from home and made it home without incident. This should be reported to the NHTSA as a potential crash problem as the bright light suddenly coming on could cause an accident. I know there are some other electrical recalls for this model and year Jeep and this should be added to the list.

After stopping at a rest area on trip from lucas Ohio to cinccinnati upon leaving found head lights not working. After approx. 1/2 hour lights came on so placed on auto and they work now, but now noticed while driving and it starts raining wipers don't work all the time also when this happens there's no horn, turn signals, or wipers so we are starting to worry about being on highway and starts raining wipers wont work and have needed horn several times and it don't work. We have noticed that when the digital compass on dash is off that the following don't work, including headlight switch, wipers, horn, turnsignals, cruise control, steering wheel radio controls, seems all problems are centered around the compass on dash going off and all steering wheel electrical components!

I tried to start my car and, with the exception of the radio and lights coming on, nothing happened. After towing it to a couple locations, the dealership determined that the car--like so many other Jeep--had a faulty tipm. I found this website after a brief search on the internet landed me on this link: www.chryslerproblems.com/problems/defective-tipm.shtml I believe that this part should have been recalled and I should not be on the hook for the repair cost.

Well, upon buying the vehicle the defects that culminated are left blinker housing, had water condensation, coolant leakage onto engine, water pump replaced, tensioner, lifter replaced, these areas I noticed a chain like rattle and still to this day when vehicle is cold or sometimes started up, will make a chain like rattle.rear shocks were leaking and replaced. Sometimes engine stalls at idle at red lights, but quickly idles beyond 1000 rpms, upon acceleration. Exhaust pipe readjusted, this was noticed by mechanic. Several other problems are occuring, while vehicle has been turned off, myself and family notices a sound coming from the dash, as if C.D. is spining in disc changer while vehicle turned off. Actuator is in need of replacing for A/C, noise is noticed, when either A/C or heater is turned on/off.

Blower motor failed May 2012. The car was so new that the dealership had to order the part. It was replaced and the heat works but there are a couple weird noises. One, it sounds like it is taxing my alternator like you would normally hear if there was an amplifier installed in the car. And two, on the dash/feet low setting it sounds like there is paper blowing in the wind and heat does not actually come out on the driver side feet until the car is completely warmed up. The dealership kindly replaced a door run channel, no charge, which eliminated some noise and a slight draft coming from the door. The rest of the overall noise was yet to be determined at this point.

The rear window opens unexpectedly when the vehicle is off and unlocked. This has occurred numerous times, and it may be occurring when the vehicle is locked, as well, however, this has not been confirmed. Since the rear window sometimes opens during rain events, the vehicles interior has a musty, moldy odor as a result of the rear window opening.
