The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. While operating the vehicle, the front driver side control arm disengaged from the balls joints and caused the suspension to fail. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the failure was due to faulty ball joints. The vehicle was repaired. Prior to the failure, while driving over bumps in the road, a loud banging noise was present coming from the front driver's side of the vehicle. The contact heard a bumping noise coming from the passenger side. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 75,000.

While backing out of a parking spot, (literally moved maybe 2 inches) the lower front control arm and ball joint on the passenger side broke suddenly. From what I have found during my research there have been a number of issues with this same part failing within the last year. More so, there was a recall of the rear control arm/ball joint and the front was recalled on the 2005 models in 2006. There is clearly an issue with the control arms in 2005-2007 Liberty models. It is my belief that the front control arms should be recalled. The failing part appears to have caused damage to the tire as well as the tire appears to have been leaning inward and rubbing along something along the interior, underside of the wheel well. It is a good thing that the vehicle was not traveling at any significant rate of speed or there could have been significant damage or death.

Rear upper control arm is all rusted creating safety hazard. Jeep has recalled lower control arm on this model but will do nothing for upper arm rust factor. Recall valid only for cars in areas where roads heavily salted in winter. We are in North East. Service looked at it 1/6/16.

I've been aware of an issue with my front lower ball joints for several months now but today, I made a right turn today and the ball joint broke altogether. I've been doing some research when it comes recalls of this nature and I know 2006 Jeep Liberty's have/had a recall in place for this very issue. I'm wondering if the recall should be expanded to include the 2007 model year as well?

Right front of 2007 Jeep Liberty fell to the ground just after moving forward in a parking lot. Wheel bent out and all fluids released to the ground. If this had happened a few minutes later would have been driving on the interstate at approximately 65 mph. The vehicle would not move when pushed, so most likely at that speed it would have flipped over carrying a mother and child. Jeep had recalls for this problem through 2005. There are many complaints on this exact issue on the 2007. Jeep refused to assist in any way. The manager stated that it was not under warranty. Parts needed for repair: Control arm, ball joint and wheel which was cracked when the incident occurred. $1231. Jeep needs to step up and cover/reimburse for safety issues that are known issues on their vehicles. No good faith for safety from Jeep. Recall these parts before people get killed.

I manage an emissions testing business a woman came in with a 2007 Jeep Liberty for a smog check. During the asm test, where I have to drive the car on the dynamometer, it hops off the dyno, going through the precautions I take for a rear-wheel drive vehicle(placing a shock in front of the front wheels), and crashes into the wall, damaging myself and $5,000 worth of equipment. Also, the car kept on accelerating into the wall, even when pushing on the brakes as hard I could so that's when I shifted it into park and engaged the handbrake. Obviously, this car has some major problems with it. At first, I looked online and the year and model had numerous recalls on it, including the rear suspension, and brakes locking up, which I believed had happened in my case. (www.motortrend.com/cars/2007/Jeep/Liberty/recalls/), but after contacting the dealership, they told me that there wasn't any major recalls issued on it, which is why im filing this complaint after smogging hundreds of cars, this has never happened to me until that day.

My 2007 Jeep Liberty was parked over night and when I started to drive away I felt the car resisting. After an inspection I realized that my front passenger tire was tipped inward.had a wrecker take it to my auto dealer where it was determined to be the upper control arms. Had to replace these and have an alignment. I only have 52658 miles on the vehicle. I am the only owner and have maintained it very well. I do not do off road driving. The only thing is that it is exposed to a lot of salt. I feel the recall on the rear suspension #91164 should also cover the front. Had I been driving on the highway when this happened I could have been seriously injured or killed.I have reported this incident to daimler Chrysler.

While driving to my daughter's school on 08/08, I heard a loud pop while turning onto a major secondary road. The front end on passenger side dropped on the tire and I lost control of the vehicle (the steering wheel got shaky and wobbly) and I was fighting to maintain control of the vehicle which almost cost me to flip over. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop in the medium. In accessing the damage, my front tire is partially flat, my front end bumper is laying heavily on the wheel on the right side which is causing the truck to lean. The vehicle was towed to my home where the tow truck driver assess the ball joint on the right side had dismantled. I'm aware there is no recall for this year but from the previous years, there has been recalls for the same problem experienced by other Jeep drivers. I implore you to investigate this problem because I almost lost my life on yesterday and could had possibly hurt others in the process. I quite sure Chrysler Inc has been receiving complaints about this but has failed to help consumers. Because of this, I'm without a vehicle and have to find other means of transportation. Please investigate this before some one loses his or her life behind this defect.

I had the 2012 lower control arm recall repair done, now I had corroded upper arm repair needed but Chrysler will not assist with the cost of repair even though its the same type of problem in the same area as the recall. Also, I now have to get the entire rear end suspension replaced. Jeep clearly needs to recall these vehicles or assist us somehow in states that use road salt, as they have sold us subpar vehicles with huge safety issues.
