Fuel is splashed all over the side of the vehicle and the person filling the vehicle, if standing too close. Aren't we warned about static electricity possibly causing a fire? What happens when a large quantity of fuel and highly flammable vapors enter the picture? HUGE possibility for fire and injuries!!!!!!!
I actually spoke with a direct employee of Chrysler, Mike, this morning at 10:39 A.M. Mountain time. During this conversation Mike told me that there has been a safety recall for this exact issue on 2007 and 2008 Jeep Liberties. However, apparently Chrysler is discriminating against the all other Jeep Liberties (including my 2006) for this issue. No matter how dangerous or life threatening. No matter how many lives are put at risk from their flat out discrimination against all other Jeeps with this issue.
If I had to input every single incident since I've owned this vehicle then I'd have to spend a lot of time here! This happens every single time I fill up. I am unable to fill up using the clip stopper thing on the gas pump at certain stations. I know these pumps have auto shut-off but it does not work on my vehicle. Very annoying when you reek of gasoline on the way to the office! This doesn't seem very safe...
THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED UP. GAS STATION PUMPS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY STOP WHEN FILLING THE TANK. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME AND AT EVERY GAS STATION. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR STARTING A FIRE. IT ALSO LEAKS FUEL INTO THE ENVIRONMENT. AS EXPENSIVE AS GAS IS NOW, I DON'T APPRECIATE DUMPING MONEY ON THE GROUND!
