Contacted dealer about N46/NHTSA.13V-252 gas tank recall on 3/10/14 and dealer said they have no information on when parts are coming or how to handle recall. When will this take place. No action by Chrysler. I received the recall notice around the end of last year. It should not be taking this long. Are we waiting for more injuries for court cases or for Chrysler to hope most of the vehicles to be out of service? I can't believe I am the only one in this town of 55000 people with a Jeep.

Every time I fill my Jeep Liberty (2005) gas tank, the gasoline splashes out the fuel spout onto the vehicle, the ground and me (the person filling the tank). The amount of fuel that splashes out onto the car and ground when the tank reaches "full" is very significant enough to cause serious injury. This happens each time I fill the tank to the point where I can't fill the gas tank to capacity due to gas fume inhalation and spill on me and vehicle. I feel this is a serious problem that affects my health and safety and would like it fixed. Now I only fill the gas tank just below capacity so it doesn't leak fuel.

When slowing down in bumper to bumper traffic the vehicle will accelerate at a high speed. Vehicle must be placed in neutral until engine decelerates. This has occurred approx. 5 times. It always is unexpected, and always occurs when moving slowly in bumper to bumper traffic. If the brake is depressed during the acceleration the rear wheels will spin. The car must be placed in neutral. The acceleration lasts for about 5 seconds. The dealer cannot find the problem. The car is maintained and operates perfectly, except for this problem. It is an accident waiting to happen. Please help!

Hard start and then engine light came on. Obdii code P302, changed spark plug and coil. Engine knocks and runs rough. Possible valve issue. The consumer stated too much time has gone by, since he received the recall notice regarding the installation of the trailer hitch. Chrysler informed the consumer the parts were not available. However, the consumer had talked to a couple of mechanics who dealer with trailers and hitches and they have the parts either in stock or readily available. Updated 06/19/14

On Jan. 25, 2014, the first notice for a recall was received. According to information on safercar.gov, this recall was started in June 2013 and the recall was expected to begin in July 2013. The notice starts 'parts are not currently available' to correct the problem and no date is provided for the start of repairs. Seven + months seems like an excessively long time to receive any notice of a safety problem. Is seems unreasonable that no date for the expected repair of my vehicle can be provided at this late date.

I am writing regarding the recent recall of all Jeep Liberty's. despite what it says here, Chrysler has told me they will not inspect nor install a trailer hitch on my 2005 Liberty which is clearly part of the recall. Did they just lie and say they would do this to avoid legal action" please investigate this.: NHTSA statement on Chrysler announcement regarding action on 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty's based on NHTSA"S preliminary analysis, as outlined in its recall request letter, Chrysler has voluntarily agreed to conduct a safety recall of model year 2002-2007 Liberty and 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. On vehicles in the recall that are not equipped with a tow hitch, Chrysler will install a Chrysler designed tow hitch free of charge, provided the condition of the vehicle can support proper installation. On vehicles in the recall that are equipped with an after market tow hitch, Chrysler will assess whether the hitch and surrounding areas show evidence of sharp edges or other puncture risks. If so, Chrysler will replace the tow hitch with a Chrysler designed tow hitch free of charge, provided the condition of the vehicle can support proper installation. On vehicles already equipped with a Chrysler designed tow hitch, Chrysler will inspect the area around the tow hitch installation, and if any installation issues are identified, they will be repaired free of charge.

While refueling the vehicle for the first time after just purchasing it, fuel gushed out of the tank after the pumped had clicked off. The pump did not overfill the tank. Fuel splashed out onto the side of the vehicle and on the ground. Luckily, I was not directly beside the vehicle or fuel would have splashed on me. I thought this was a fault of the pump until I happened to see a video on utube of other people experiencing the exact problem. This is a design issue with this vehicle and needs to be corrected by the manufacturer.
