This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The lcd screen is basically coming apart and there should be a recall as this is a known issue yet it-??s going to cost me hundreds of dollars to fix since the car is not under warranty. It-??s been messed up since the month after I bought it from carmax in Wichita, ks and they refused to cover it since there was no recall. The buttons go crazy and click random stuff and it looks as if there is liquid in between the screen.
Display screen has been bubbling since I purchased in 2021. Now recently while driving display presses buttons on screen while driving without any physical contact. Calls random people from phone without touching it. Impacting ability to use navigation safely, constantly having to switch screens back. Also, at times blue screen appears, and sometimes rear camera view stays on screen while driving.
While driving the vehicle it shut off and would not start unless the vehicle was jumped. This happened twice in the middle of the highway, extremely dangerous my children were in the vehicle and other vehicles had to swerve to avoid contact with my vehicle. I took the vehicle back to the dealer that i purchased the vehicle from and they could not figure out the issue. My vehicle is currently with another independent dealer, i changed both batteries, i changed the alternator, checked all of the fuses and checked the relay switches and the vehicle still will not start without a jump and it will only run for a day without needing a jump. No warnings, it just happened.

The maker of my vehicle cannot solve an open recall on a timely manner. An existing open safety recall is registered to my vehicle for about 1 year and due to this recall I am currently exposed to a safety issue as well as lost of income as this vehicle is used for Business Purpose.
8.4-?? unconnect touch screen radio is bubbling. This bubbling causes the touch screen to select randomly. It will change climate control setting, screen settings, turn the radio on, turn seat heaters on, manipulate the navigation system. This becomes a large distraction while on the road and is extremely dangerous. This is a known issue with these radios in several Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler/Ram models. We have taken the vehicle to the dealer and asked for this safety issue to be addressed. They have responded that we are responsible to fix at our own cost.
The radio had delaminated causing my radio to start switching stations randomly, rendering my dashboard useless- no phone, no navigation, unable to adjust heat, indoor cabin temperature, or hear radio.
The worse thing that has happened is I started my car with my grandbaby in her carseat, I hopped out to lock my house door and the car went into reverse and ran into barbwire fence, this has happened twice. A total of 3 times my car has slammed on the bracks while backing out of the drive way barley moving it almost gave me whiplash. My radio jumps around channels, I have reported in the past but has gotten worse and started turning on the heater on high and I cant stop it.
The LG Screen in the dashboard is delaminating and causing the radio and various bluetooth functions to go haywire. The radio stations change and dance across the screen, the temperature in the car changes without my touching it, and phone calls are initiated totally on their own without my involvement. This is highly distracting while driving. I'm told by the dealership who services my vehicle that the screen plus the electronic components all have to be replaced to the cost of over $1,000 and that it is not covered under the 100,000 mile warranty I have on the vehicle. I've researched this problem online and have discovered that many cars/SUVs have this issue and apparently it is due to a faulty LG screen. I found this in chat groups and have not independently verified it. I am writing to your administration to request you look into this issue and if it is as widespread as it appears to be, I think you should consider the safety aspects of the distraction this causes and recall the LG screen and associated components.
The uconnect screen started to delaminate, causing the screen to push buttons and make selections all on its own. While driving on the highway the screen start beeping loudly and wouldn-??t stop as it was -??ghost-?? pressing buttons on the screen and I could not get it under control. You can-??t use any of the features of the screen because of the -??ghost-?? pressing. I have no more access to the backup camera, no access to navigation and will need to rely on a mobile device. This is a common issue for many uconnect vehicles and should require a recall for replacement. I was never given a warning, it just started beeping and flashing screens while driving which was distracting and unsafe. The vehicle is no longer under warranty, so I would have to pay for this clearly a recall issue.
Glue from radio screen melts off in hot weather causing delamination which then causing the radio screen to do whatever it wants. Will have gps on then will go to radio screen or any other screen will even turn on heated seats or steering will on it-??s one because the screen is messed
Digital Touch screen has begun to delaminate. It started in one corner and has progressed to the full top portion of the screen. Since this started, screen has become very glitchy, jumping from one radio station to another constantly or when using maps, screen is jumping all over the place. This started several months ago and has progressively gotten worse. Only way to make it stop is just turning it off completely.
The UConnect in the vehicle delaminated, which caused a crack on the screen. Due to that, the back up cameras do not work & the controls for most things in the vehicle are unable to be used now because they are all connected via the UConnect.
Stereo screen is delaminating, sometimes I am completely unable to use radio, temperature controls, hands free calling etc. Screen presses buttons and goes crazy and I am unable to do anything. That is definitely a safety hazard. From what I have researched this is a very common problem with Jeeps.
My touch screen that controls the radio- heated seats-climate-maps and phone is delaminating and ghost pressing everything. It changes my maps causing a huge safety issue my heated seats the radio etc. I have no control over what is being pressed at this point.
Uconnect System Malfunction/Delamination: EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE: 1. Screen freezes and fails to project image onscreen while backing up. 2. Independent of operator touching screen: --system turns on/off. --increases/decreases volume. --changes stations, and media modes. --navigation frequently freezes during critical intersections. --climate control inaccessible. --randomly dials 911 and other random phone numbers. 3. UConnect fails to turn off even after leaving vehicle. Vehicle is primarily driven by inexperienced 17-yr-old driver. He gets disoriented when back-up camera freezes causing him to stop/park/restart vehicle very possibly in harms way. He has consistently complained about how distracting it is to try to control the system malfunctions while driving. Very often needing to pull over in areas that may not be safe. I have called Jeep Cares, FCA Recall Assistance Center, and visited Dealer Parts Dept and Service Dept. They are aware of but refuse to address the problem in spite of NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE until I pay them non-refundable $195 for them to officially diagnose a known problem and activate my case. I have a video taken in early 2021 (before end of warranty) thats illustrates some of the issues, but could only upload a still image below.
Radio screen is delaminating causing it to randomly turn things on and off, from small things like changing radio stations to "larger things" like changing other settings like seats, climate control etc. Delamination has been evident for the last year however it has just started to cause other issues.
