I was in traffic going about 25-30 mph when I lightly touched my gas pedal and my car wouldn't accelerate at all. Since I was going too slow I wasn't able to get to the left lane and the shoulder on the right lane was narrow so I sat half in the right lane half on the shoulder with a dead car for about five minutes before I could get it to turn back on. I was on a highway 495N in Maryland during rush hour.
My transfer case needs to be replaced, it jerks when I break and hit my gas, I can barley turn my vehicle without the whole car shaking. The dealership told me it would cost $4K to fix, the part is back ordered, there's 4 cars before me getting the same problem fixed. There's over 150K people who have complained about the same thing. They told me if I drive my car it would cause it to shut down and then it wouldn't be fixable. But Jeep refuses to fix the problem when they know this is their fault. On top of that, my fuel relay is recalled with no solution and my Jeep could turn off on me at any moment. They told the transfer case is not recalled because not enough people have complained about it. They are aware of the issue and refuse to fix it.
Ac stopped working and was making noise. Ended up to be the compresser. I only have 21,000 miles on my 2013 Grand Cherokee. Dealer is charging me $ 1,000.. Chrysler should cover this. My understanding is this part is on back order. This tells me there is a problem with the compresser for the ac. Took it to the dealer on 06/10/2020 charged me $250 had take it back 07/07/2020 air still wasn't working. This is when they told me it was a leak in the compresser. Now it's another $1,000.. I need a phone # to be able to contact Chrysler about this problem. Fluid leaks from the transmission and ac condenser unit, driver side edge. Several small points leaks. Mechanic said it's a common transmission fluid leak problem due to poor manufacture and have to replace the combined unit at Jeep dear. Search the internet, see quite a few complain.

My car stalled out on a turn and I could not move the steering wheel. I almost hit a car due to this. Jeep has an open but unfixable recall on the vehicle. I have spoken to numerous people at Chrysler, mopar, and dealerships. They will not help. Basically, told me the fix may or may not help, but it's a temporary one. There is no real fix to it. I am too scared to drive my car now. I cannot drive my car knowing that it can stall out (as it already has), what if I hit someone and hurt my family or someone else. So pretty much, they have an open recall but will not help and there is no fix to it.
The problem started with the key fob, after locking the car the doors would unlock and lock again with out my control. Then more electrical issues occurred, the lights flickered, the rear camera stopped working, and then driving the car eventually the power steering went out and it was dangerous as I was driving on the 405 free way and I was unable to pull over with out power steering.
Leather on dashboard has separated and bubbled due to manufacturers defect. Jeep will not fix the issue stating it is "normal wear and tear" this is unacceptable on the overland trim that is supposed to be a high end trim model
My 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland started to smoking from the alternator and burned up almost catching fire. There was a recall that they only looked at the alternator never replacing it. I want to know more about this recall, I want to be contacted in regards to this faulty part that almost caught my Jeep on fire. I feel this part should have been replaced. The Jeep was running stationary when it started whistling and making a bad noice. Once I started to drive it to auto zone it got worse and started smoking, making a loud whistling sound and choking like it was going to die. When I pulled into auto zone it was smoking bad, smelt electric burning and it was all coming from the alternator. I had to have it towed 60 miles back home and another 12 miles to the dealership that next Monday morning because this happened on a Sunday when everything was closed. If it's a recall I want it replaced, tow paid for and the time it's been out of commission.
The vehicle has stopped dead on at least 8 occasions over the last year. The car is running and moving but suddenly stops. No lights no motor noise no ability to steer off the road. It seems to occur at city speeds and streets never on a highway nothing has showed up on diagnostics and no one seems to be able to fix it. I am afraid to drive it. The Jeep dealership says there is nothing wrong on diagnostics so there is nothing to fix. The dealerships head mechanic is not returning calls. I was researching and found that there may have been a recall on this issue with the same make and model including 2011 to 2014. Mine is 2013. The dealership will not speak to this issue. I do not know what a takayuki recall is, I gave the last date this happend.
While driving forward my backup camera came on and would not shut off. When it did shut off, I heard this sizzling noise and the entire system went out and the check engine light came on then it went off and came back on and has been on ever since.
I've been told that in the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee's are known to have computer problems! my computer was just replaced 2 years ago and when I went to get my car serviced (oil change), I was told that the check engine light is reading codes that would suggest my computer is going out again.
Push start failed to turn on and off. Car stalled when going from remote start to start. Windshield wipers would not turn off even with car off and key removed from vehicle. Display of mph and menu disappeared.
While driving to work one night my Jeep started making a whining sound. I thought it was the heater since it was 12 degrees outside that night. I leave for work, get about 6 miles down the road and my Jeep starts failing. Warning lights, battery, traction control, wipers slowly go across the windshield, lights dimming. I got to a safe spot to pull over but in the process of stopping my vehicle lost all functionaloty (no breaks, power steering, lights, all electronics gone) and couldnt stop. It finally stops and I'm left with a completely dead vehicle. 12am in freezing weather while 5 months pregnant. When my boyfriend arrived to get me, he noticed a strong burning smell coming from under the hood. At this time the vehicle had sat barely out of the road in the dead of night with no hazards possible to allow other drivers to see me. We find out that there is an alternator recall on my Jeep and take it into the dealership as soon as scheduling allowed. Before alternator blew my Jeep had zero issues. They had my vehicle for 4 days and called to say my Jeep was fixed (no loaner car offered). I go up the next day, they replaced the PCM and alternator, they say nothing else. I go to start my Jeep and it cranks for about 30 seconds and starts. Never happened before. I go back inside to the dealer who has said nothing the last 2 days about my vehicle not running properly and they tell me it is my crank shaft position sensor and was not covered under the recall. And they said they couldnt promise the car would make it home and it was my problem. Unhappy with results we call Chrysler and they tell the dealership to fix that. It does not fix the problem. The problems continue and Chrysler is no longer willing to fix obvious damage from their alternator failure frying the electrical system. The dealership also told me to file a "fake" fire claim on my insurance. Still unresolved.
When in park... pressing the start button the engine does not turn over... it clicks and stops on its own. I await minutes and then press the start button.. the engine starts... it happens every time I park for a couple of hours, and start up. I replaced a battery, but it still does it. I find myself stuck often, I done the research and have other colleagues whom have grand Jeep Cherokee but year 2014. They were entitled to a recall for the same issues with their Jeep as mine. This happened November 17 2018 and November 22nd..once each afternoon.
Recently, car started giving me a hard time to start. When it finally turns on it would sputter and turn off after a few seconds. Some lights flicker at times. Battery is fine. The ignition is sparking but doesn't turn the car on. Sometimes car turns on with no problem and I drive it for hours and sometimes it doesn't start at all or starts and turns off right away or after 10 seconds.
Front windshield wipers would not turn off, one speed only, rear wiper not working, brights not working, had to replace a faulty total integrated power module (tipm).
