The problem I've been having with my Jeep is that the brakes shake violently when slowing from speeds in excess of 40 mph. The rotors have been replaced once before, and will probably have to be replaced again (when I can get the car to the dealer to get it done). After reading through the list of complaints and seeing this one on there 20+ times, I kind of feel like there should be some sort of recall on the vehicle.

The rotors and pads were damaged from over heating. This sounds like a problem that a lot of others has had. I feel this is a very big safety problem and should be looked into. I do not feel brakes should fail in this short of time. Thank you for your help.

I have had the vehicle in to the shop once at 12,000 miles because every time I put on the brakes above 45 mph the truck would shudder drastically. They turned the rotors and it was fine for 3ooo or 4ooo more but it has continued again. I actually got a note left on my windshield giving me you web address from another Jeep owner regarding their same complaint. It seems to be a defect in the metal used for the braking system if I have to take it in every 4K miles. God forbid that they should ever completely fail.

When braking at any speed, the steering wheel vibrates and the whole truck shimmies. My rotors and brake pads have been replaced 4 times with only 20,000+ miles on the truck and it is occuring for the 5th time now. I am very concerned that this is going to cause a serious accident. It is very disturbing to be driving around in an unsafe vehicle that has a major problem with its braking system. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed asap.

High pulsating in brakes, only warr. 12,000 miles, should have recall, very unsafe, had rotors turned and new pads, same problem starting again, I have not found a 2000 grand chreokee owner that has over 12,000 miles on it that has not had the same problem.

While driving at any speed and applying brakes vehicle will experience a "bounce" in front wheels, and stopping distance increased due to poor performance of the braking system. Dealership has examined the vehicle three times for this problem, and replaced the brake pads and rotors. These repairs have failed to remedy the problem. Please provide any additional information/attachments.

Car with about 10K miles has braking problem. At over 50 mph, steering shimmies and shakes. Difficult to brake. Dealer says rotors need to be replaced. Rotors are not available, on backorder. Other Jeep having same problem? dealer expects me to pick up cost of over $400. Seems like a mfg. Defect on a relatively new car. Must drive in current condition until brake rotors are deliver. Dangerous situation.
