I pulled into my son's drive-way to pick him up. I put the car in park and put the emergency brake on while I waited for him to come out. He was saying something to me so I opened the door and stood so I could hear him. He was asking for me to come inside. Standing beside the Jeep with the door open, I reached in to shut shut the car off. I shut the car off and then it started going backwards. The car hit me and knocked me down. I hit my head on the cement. My son ran after the car and stopped it from going across the street. Then he took me to the emergency room. I had a ct scan and suffered head and tissue injuries, including black eye (wear glasses), head lump, neck, forehead and temple bruising, bruised shoulder, bruised behind, bruised arm and bruised leg.
From park, vehicle shifted freely and lost reverse function. Total repair cost was $2,714.43. Dealer was contacted prior to repair since transmission shop claimed the see a lot of these and they thought transmissions where defective. Dealer refused to take any responsibility.
Car was in park, running, when I got my mail. I was behind the vehicle and heard a click, when I looked up the vehicle was headed toward me. I tried to jump in and stop the vehicle but could not. It rolled backwards across a 55mph road into the park across the street and slammed into a tree cause $2,094 in damage. I paid my $500 deductible and my insurance paid the balance. When daimler checked out the vehicle they said they found no problem. The day we were to take the vehicle in for this inspection, my husband warmed up the car with the emergency brake on, when he came out the car was once again in reverse.

While engine was running and shift lever was in park position vehicle jumped out of park and went into reverse. Vehicle rolled out of a service station parking lot and across several lanes on a highway. Another individual was able to stop vehicle without a crash or any injuries. Please provide any additional information / documentation.
Vehicle was parked with engine running, park brake not engaged, and was pulling trailer when vehicle suddenly went backward, knocked over a person, consumer was able to jump in and stop vehicle. No injuries, damage to vehicle unknown at this time. Consumer stated that while brake was hit to stop the vehicle, the boat fell off the trailer, damaging trailer and putting hole in boat.
Consumer placed vehicle in park, got out with the engine running, when all of a sudden it started to move backwards, consumer tried to get in the vehicle to apply the brakes, but the door hit her and was knocked down, vehicle was damaged, consumer reported incident to manufacturer but was denied any assistance because they are stating that the emergency brake should have been engaged.
Insured thought she had vehicle in park, instead it was in reverse. She ran to try and to stop vehicle stop, but was knocked down and hit her head. The adjuster stated vehicle jumped from park to reverse.
State farm insurance stated, owner had left the Jeep parked out front of the store for a few minutes running, went in to ring out and lockup and when she came out the vehicle had coasted backward and hit a.35-W2800-618
Consumer put key in ignition, gave a little gas, and vehicle lurched into reverse crashing into a building causing damage to the rear of the vehicle, consumer states vehicle was still in park at time of accident, luckily there were no injuries.
Vehicle was in park, slipped out of gear while the owner was in the gas station store, and it rolled into a gas pump, knocked it over causing fire and also car caught on fire. 38-J600-008
While vehicle was parked in garage (new car) with engine running, transmission slipped out of park an into reverse. Drivers side door was open at time and was torn off by right side as it passed by. When car was stopped by insured, indicator still indicated car was in park auto dealer and mge do not accept responsibility, insured willing to go to court. ($6,000 damage) 55-G215-214
