Consumer noticed a chirping noise coming from the front wheels that disappeared when the brakes were applied. The dealer was unable to correct the problem the consumer was referring to. The consumer had a list of problems that needed to be corrected on the vehicle and they were: Rotors and pads front and rear, emergency brake shoes, wiper blades, muffler and tail pipe, oil dip dip stick, right axle boot, emergency brake pivot, the back glass needed to be adjusted, the fuel pump module was replaced, the rear differential bearings were replaced. The consumer was told by customer service there were 2 outstanding recalls on the vehicle and the problem she was describing sounded as though it was related to one of the recalls.
Problems with front brakes grinding. Nar 1/22/2003 the consumer had problems stopping. The problem was diagnosed as 2 bad front brake disc rotors and 2 bad front brake calipers. When the consumer did some research, he discovered daimler Chrysler had issued a recall and now the consumer is seeking reimbursement.
The rotors warped. As a result the brakes wore out prematurely. A recall was issued for this male/model, and year. However, the vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. The ABS light had come on due to the ABS pump assembly, there was a vibration when braking, and the rear brake pad were metal to metal.
The rotors on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee consistently warp after 6,000 to 10,000 miles. I have owned many cars and have also worked on many and have never witnessed such short living rotors.
Vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall 00V136000 repairs concerning front brake rotors in 2001. Dealer replaced front rotors. Also found that rear rotors were bad and replaced them. At 18,000 miles later, front and rear rotors had to be replaced due to vehicle pulsating when applying the brakes.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee defective brake rotors are defective. The consumer had a problem with the brake rotors in which they were replaced, then six months later received a letter of the potential problem, so the consumer forwarded the bill to Chrysler and hasn't been reimbursed. The consumer has requested compensation for repair cost.
Before consumer purchased the vehicle, the rotors and pads had been replaced. Consuemr received a recall notice regarding the rotors and pads and had them replaced again per recall standards. In June of 2001, consumer noticed a pulsing in the brakes. The brakes were worn, the rotors were replaced and the pads changed. In September of 2002, there was a heavy pulsing and a grinding noise during braking. Consumer was told the pads were completely worn away and metal was grinding against metal.
Consumer had rotors and brake pads replaced prior to receiving recall 00V136 due to corrosion, consumer feels that if the front brakes are experiencing problems due to road salt, then the back brakes would too.
Consumer has had recall, 00V136, work done, however rotors continue to warp, ABS module needed repaired, brakes are noisy, brakes pulsate, and ABS light illuminates, because of brake problems, tires had to be replaced and have to be rotated often, dealer stated there may be a hazardous condition in the future with the ABS.
consumer states transmission does not shift the way it should, there is a delay when going into gear and it makes a noise, rear seal, pan gasket, and cooler lines leaking, humming in engine at 59-62 mph, the wiper blades failed, while using remote there is a grinding noise coming from door area, the right front rotor is worn, the deqler replaced the front brake pads, and headlights need to be adjusted.
01 V 119 000/front brake rotor: Front brake rotors need to be replaced within 12,000 miles of wear. Dealer notified. There is a recall campaign #00V13600 for this condition. Consumer adds that the fuel injector had to be replaced due to carbon deposits.
The front rotors routinely warp. Chrysler replaced them at 18,000 miles, turned them at 30,000 miles and by 40,000 miles they were warped again. No mechanical problems causing the warping. Service tech at dealership said this is known design defect.

While traveling heard noise coming from left rear wheel. Dealer was contacted, and stated that rotors were warped and needed to be replaced. Consumer stated that due to the rotors being warped from the factory/ worn down brakes which also caused the axle bearing, seals, pinion bearings to go bad, consumer had to have all of the above replaced including all rotors.
Both rear brake rotors are rusted to an extreme, Jeep has a previous recall on the front rotors in the northeast region for rust to rotors and hubs due to salt errosion. This recall should be extended to cover the rear rotors as well.
The front pads have worn and the rotors warped on several occasion causing extended stopping distance and vibration when applied, these failures occured prior to recall notice 00V-136, the consumer is requesting reimbursent. Nlm
