When it happened we were in the right turn lane and I stopped. Then went to go and there was no power at the engine. No warning signs no alerts, all power was on except the engine was dead. The parking lite was on and the message board said park. It said put on brake and put in drive, this didnt help. After trying to start it started and ran fine. This all happended at a busy area and I didnt realiy stop and think and see everything with the traffic blowing their horns. Thanks for being there for the consumer

Severe transmission issues. Purchased from mtn. View Jeep in ringgold. Transmission is making loud popping, shifting extremely hard, hesitates at times when accelerating. Been on machine multiple times but nothing shows up on computer. Started acting up around 20,000 miles. I am now at 31,000 miles and they are finally going to replace value body in transmission. Issue started back in January 2016. Only because I finally got a video of transmission issues. Dealer is repairing Jeep, but I have to pay for a loaner car. Not good service from Jeep.

When towing with four wheels down behind motorhome, on two different occasions the Jeep will warble uncontrollably. This occurred on trips we made in June and September 2016. Understand fca has a remedy but according to dealer I have to pay for the wire harness as well as installation cost"? also reading forums appears fix only allows battery to last for three hours?" this is unacceptable as well as why consumer needs to pay for this remedy. The reason I bought this Jeep was for the capability to be towed behind a motorhome (safely driving it off dealerships lot).

While driving down the road at 50mph with my trailhawk edition Jeep, the roof rail bar ripped out of the roof of the car sending my kayak rack and 35 pound kayak down the center of the road. Chrysler/Jeep states they are not led to believe the incident was a manufacturing responsibility. Lives could have been lost. The Jeep dealership tried to tell me they found documentation that the rails are not to be used unless they have a manufactured crossbar with a maximum weight of 150 pounds. My kayak rack has a crossbar and the weight of the rack was maybe 15 pounds and the kayak itself was 35 pounds. There was no where in my owners manual that states I cannot use my roof rails. Only a safety statement saying nothing should be screwed into my roof for airbag and safety purposes. Even with manufactured crossbars they wouldn't be able to screw into my roof so they would not have held my roof rail into the roof. The roof is very thin and there are clear holes where the bar completely ripped out of the roof. If there was a vehicle behind me people could have been very hurt. Chrysler sent an investigator to do a report on the vehicle they sent me a one paragraph letter stating they decline any assistance associated with this incident. Safety concerns for other people on the road and other Jeep owners was not addressed. At the time of the incident I was on a back road going 50 miles an hour with no wind gusts or any reason for this to occur. This incident occurred on August 7 and even though it was reported to the dealership on the eighth I have received no help. I am attaching photos of the kayak safely mounted on the kayak rack the day before the incident and the damages to my car.

We own the 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport that self accelerates with great force and also has horrible lagging issues taking off from a stop. The lack of acceleration which happens randomly is very scary! I have taken my Jeep in several times which in most cases it is rarely driven and given back to me with barely any miles driven on it to have the problems present themselves. Our Jeep has been in for weeks at a time. Started lemon law but because the Jeep dealership hasn't recreated the problem (due to car sitting parked in their parking lot), Jeep will not acknowledge the very frightening problems. These alarming issues have not been resolved even with extended amounts of time at dealership in service department (5 days, 10 days, etc). Very scary!!!

2015 Jeep Cherokee sport - 12K miles - car accelerates after taking foot off of gas pedal. Contacted dealership - service manager and was told that this is a known "characteristic" of this vehicle. What? you mean a problem !!! dealership will not do anything. I contacted Chrysler and opened a case record with them. This is clearly a safety issue and needs to be address.

Driving on the highway at approx. 70 mph when Jeep developed severe hesitation and jerking motion. Evasive action taken to avoid an accident to pull off to exit the highway. Light indicator on dash board. Turned vehicle off then restarted. Light remained on dash (not flashing), however, proceeded to see if car is driveable. Two more occurrences of same symptom. Again, pulled over and did same stop/start and then proceeded. Managed to get home. Immediately contacted dealership where car was purchased new. Currently has 12K on vehicle. Following day took car in for inspection and problem determination. Was informed that (5) software flashes would be updated on vehicle, one of which was a transmission control module (tcm) flash. Drove car home same day. I will need some time driving Jeep to see if these software flashes has fixed the problem. After a few hours I decided to get on the internet to investigate if anyone else has experienced this problem. To my surprise, it is clearly a problem with others. Question? why was I not informed of this problem by dealership or any other notifications of recall, etc. Really, this is how it works, you have to wait until there is a fatality to do something. I am very disappointed with Chrysler. History: I have owned 1998 Jeep Wrangler, 2001 Dodge Dakota, 2005 Dodge magnum, now 2015 Jeep Cherokee and the list goes on for other members of the family. Come on Chrysler you can do better than this. There is a problem related to these (9 gear) transmissions that need to be fixed. Don't wait to recall these vehicles. If transmission is the culprit, then replace these transmissions. Driving habits require frequent travel through atlanta, ga traffic. Under normal driving conditions you are taking a risk driving through atlanta let alone with know vehicle problems.

We purchased our 2015 Jeep Cherokee new and within a few months of driving the Jeep we started to notice what I would call horrible lag issues. The car would drive jerky and when the car was at a stop and you applied the gas to go, it would seem like it wasn't getting the gas and will have a hard time accelerating. We took the car in and they detected the problem and said they did a computer update. Shortly after, the Jeep started a very scary self acceleration where the car would accelerate on its own and take off without applying gas or having foot on gas pedal. The Jeep would lunge so violently and it was hard to make it stop and tried to lunge thru the braking. I have taken the car back it several times as both of these issues happen and makes it very dangerous to drive. My daughter was almost in a horrible collision with a large truck and rear ended because the car was lagging so bad making a right hand turn from a red light. Thankfully the truck was able to swerve around us and we didn't get hit. We initiated the lemon law on this Jeep as it is too dangerous to drive. The Jeep has been in for servicing many times and the problem has still not been resolved. I have googled this online and found other Jeep owners with exact frightening concerns. Very upsetting and dangerous. I have the documentation for all the times the car has been to service for this and they understand the problem and said they have other Jeep with same concerns.

Takata recall, having issues with the computer stating that the vehicle four wheel drive is disabled and off, then was sitting at traffic light on 6/16/16 and its like the vehicle cut off ( to save energy) and then when it cut back on it had accelerated car to making me hit someone in the rear end. Unsure as to what is going on but dealer ship last did oil change at 17,000 miles and it came out with check engine on and they said nothing to worry about and cleared the code out. Then the four wheel drive message keeps coming up ( even when not in four wheel drive haven't even hit the button to switch it over) illuminates on message center. Seems like car has issues with something computer or electrical but most of all how safe is this vehicle if can rev up and accelerate without touching gas pedal. Have moderate damage to front end of car, tow hook was pushed back into the front of it and cant open hood having adjuster look at today and take to garage unsure as to what happened or why but doesn't seem very safe and it hit pretty hard but airbag on driver side didn't deploy makes it scary to think what if it decides to deploy while driving now...

Problem 1: parked car in garage - went to restart & put in reverse numerous error messages which said cannot engage 4WD, check engine, check transmission; restart and put in reverse again; each time I restarted as instructed and put in reverse transmission jerked hard. Started 3 times each time the same response. Called dealer who sent 2 mechanics - taken to dealership; car now needs new transmission. Problem 2: horn goes off for no apparent reason while driving. Does not stop when vehicle shuts off. Serviced three times by dealership (computer updates and part). Don't know if last fix worked since the car is now disabled due to transmission.

Accelerates with application of brake while in motion turning. Vehicle accelerates on its own Accord, while in motion. Stalled while moving forward in traffic. Forward lunging. Motor runs very rough. Transmission shifts roughly. Manual shift does not allow for manual shifting. Mileage 16/18 city 22/24 highway which is below ad limits of up to 30mpg. This was a major purchasing point for us. Motor whines on passenger side. Smell burning anti-freeze. A/C blows only hot air. Floor fan on passenger side and rear seat fan barely operate or are non-functional. Driver and passenger seats along with visors threads falling apart (seats to be replaced if they ever come in, it has been three (3) months waiting for parts). Seal above rear hatch falling off - replaced and fell off again. Radio has very poor reception. No cd or dvd player. Inside of Jeep trailhawk sounds like a city bus - everything sounds loose - this developed after the entire vehicle had been taken apart for numerous repairs. This vehicle is one lunge away from seriously injuring or worse, one or more parties.

The vehicle just froze up yesterday 15 Feb 2016. It would not start, the brakes were completely locked up on it. Tried and tried to get it to start and it would not. Took it in this morning on a flat bed hauler and took it to the dealership at I 77 Jeep in ripley wv. They first stated it was the emergency brake, then said it was the battery, but I guess it was me it her of those. So it's still there and no word what cause it. If it had locked up while my wife was driving it it would be a very bad results. The vehicle was stationedare and was in the garage.

On 2 occasions now I have accidentally left the engine running and in gear at a gas station to refuel when I thought I had turned the engine off. It seems if you do not make sure the car is in park, the engine will not turn off. While I appreciate the fact that the engine is very quite, it is very disturbing to me that I may cause an accident if this continues to happen. I would like to see the engine turn off if the key exits the driving compartment as this would keep that from happening.

Is the engine start/stop system dangerous? I think so. When I pull into parking spaces and begin to shut down the car (shift into park, go to push the engine stop button), the ess system activates. By "activates, " I mean that the car turns over. This does not happen every time, but it happens often enough. In one example, I pulled into a parking space and my passenger was moving faster than me, and as he was getting out of the car, the engine turned over as if to start (but it was already started). Some kind of signal is being sent from the ess system, which has no consistent behavior, so you have no idea if it is working or not. I believe NHTSA needs to look into how the ess system functions in normal daily car use. This behavior has occurred since I bought the car new. In another instance, the behavior was the same, except I did not have a passenger trying to get out of the car.

Back window broke. No idea where it came from or how it started as I was sitting in my home and the car was parked outside. The car is not even a year old. Two holes on the sides of the back window at first. The window was cracked across the window, could still hear it cracking when I saw. Then the next morning the top half of the window was cracked. Is this a defect?
