While driving the service shifter message displayed on the dash and the shifter had red light light up for park reverse neutral drive and manual. Upon more research many people have complained about this issue and having to have the entire shifter assembly and wiring harness replaced
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the service transmission message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to her residence. The contact took the vehicle to lafontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of lansing (6131 S Pennsylvania ave, lansing, mi 48911) where the vehicle was diagnosed with a software update issue. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 28,284.
Just after I started Jeep. I had a warning beep. Dash has service shifter on it. All the lights along the shifter were lit up as if shifter was in all the positions. Drove it a short distance. Stopped turned off ignition. Restarted vehicle and it was cleared up. Have 59036 miles on Jeep.
The car was parked at a gas station when the car was turn on there was a loud noise and it started shaking then the service engine light went on, also the D was flashing and the light for ice control was flashing as well
On a Sunday the 25th October my vehicle was parked at home getting ready to go to the shops didn't want to go forward but it was automatically reversing. It changed to low gear and didn't wanna increase speed above 40km/hr, it deactivated all sensors. It lost power and started jacking but was only reversing. I called Jeep sa sandton on Monday as it did the same thing they said it must be town must towed. On arrival I was told M vehicle has ptu problem, it is not transmitting power to the front wheels. And I need to pay for replacement of ptu. I asked what causes this ptu, the service girls said she doesn't know. I googled and discovered that my vehicle was recalled for this ptu software update because these cars experience this problem. But no one informed me despite that my car went for a service with Jeep in May. The dealer and fca johannesburg is refusing to fix the damage and to update the software, the car has been with them for 2 weeks, and I am told I need to pay, while the information is clear that the recall was worldwide, and irrespective if your car is still under warrant or not the ptu needs to be updated and replaced by dealer free of charge.

Driving down the road not even 2 miles from home the car just shuts off. Only warning was a the auto start/stop warning light on the instrument panel. Was able to coast to the a atop sign with no power steering or power brakes. Before coming to a complete stop the car started up again once I sat for a min or two. I didn't get 1 mile from that stop sign when the car died again. Same warning light. This is could have been deadly had I made it to the interstate and it stalled there. This has happened more times than I can count. It typically happens on the first start of the day. The car will run and then start running really rough for no reason and usually stalls out.
If I'm coming up on a red light and it turns green before I have to stop when I press the gas pedal it hesitates to go then it jumps forward very hard. Also if I'm pulling out sometimes from a complete stop it will do the samething by hesitating then jumping forward.
Service shifter light comes on and it effects the shifting of the vehicle. If you turn off the vehicle the light resets. Unable to diagnose at this time at the dealership. Happens when the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle has a hesitation/delay in acceleration.
No acceleration, RPM stuck at 5000 for an extended time before dropping, clunk noise, hard shift especially into park. Between 60,000 and 70,000 miles had 3 major repairs.
While driving down the road several times the past month my vehicle has shut down. All lights stay on in car and headlamps etc. But the engine shuts down you lose power steering and when you go to crank the engine over it will do nothing for maybe 5 to 10 seconds before you here the belts and fans start to crank. Had the starter, alternator and battery tested. Replaced the battery and it still does it just not as often.
Jeep shifter not working right. When driving the Jeep stops comes up on screen shifter not working then says to put in park and shift to desired gear.but I have to shut off car and restart before it will work.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
While the car was moving the service gear shift warming came on and all the gear lights where on.. transmission issue continue when putting the car in drive it jerks very hard or when you press the gas the car jerks violently
While driving all lights on the shifter came on and a message on the dash said service shifter. This happened before and the shifter was replaced at 43472 miles December 23, 2019
2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude. Consumer writes in regards to ptu inline spline safety recall. The consumer stated the vehicle would clunk upon acceleration. The dealer could duplicate the failure. The vehicle then experienced a loss of power. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted.
Service shifter warning shows while driving, sometimes while starting vehicle will not allow to change gears without turning off and then back on multiple times.
The car has trouble going when it's stopped and I press the gas. It is as if it's thinking and then once it starts moving, it shifts really hard. It's also shifts really hard when while just driving, feels like someone hit me from behind. Also the service shifter light would go on so I replaced the shifter bezel with wires twice and now the service shift light is back on again.
When road is wet, vehicle randomly fish tails on city streets and/or does complete 360 degree spin on the interstate. Tires are good. Rear differential was leaking. Suspected differential failed. We got the leak fixed but noise persisted. Jeep service department is now replacing entire differential. Warranty expired at 100,000 miles. Vehicle around 120,000 miles now. Suspect a defect in differential, based on other internet searches. Also had similar issue about a year ago, and thought that balding tires were to blame. Other symptoms include rubbing sound when turning slowly and sharply, such as backing out of driveway or turning sharply into a parking spot.
I was driving came to a stop a stop sign, I started to go and my Jeep just stopped in the middle of an intersection. It wouldnt move or roll. I gave it gas and it just rum the engine up. It wouldn't move and cars were coming at me. It scared me. I almost got hit by a cement truck. Lights on all the shifting lit up. Service 4 wheel drive light came on. Mileage started flashing. Some light with car and wavy roads light came on. It just stopped rolling while driving.2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude only 69,000 miles.
