2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude. Consumer writes in regards to ptu inline spline safety recall. The consumer stated the vehicle would clunk upon acceleration. The dealer could duplicate the failure. The vehicle then experienced a loss of power. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted.
Service shifter warning shows while driving, sometimes while starting vehicle will not allow to change gears without turning off and then back on multiple times.
The car has trouble going when it's stopped and I press the gas. It is as if it's thinking and then once it starts moving, it shifts really hard. It's also shifts really hard when while just driving, feels like someone hit me from behind. Also the service shifter light would go on so I replaced the shifter bezel with wires twice and now the service shift light is back on again.

When road is wet, vehicle randomly fish tails on city streets and/or does complete 360 degree spin on the interstate. Tires are good. Rear differential was leaking. Suspected differential failed. We got the leak fixed but noise persisted. Jeep service department is now replacing entire differential. Warranty expired at 100,000 miles. Vehicle around 120,000 miles now. Suspect a defect in differential, based on other internet searches. Also had similar issue about a year ago, and thought that balding tires were to blame. Other symptoms include rubbing sound when turning slowly and sharply, such as backing out of driveway or turning sharply into a parking spot.
I was driving came to a stop a stop sign, I started to go and my Jeep just stopped in the middle of an intersection. It wouldnt move or roll. I gave it gas and it just rum the engine up. It wouldn't move and cars were coming at me. It scared me. I almost got hit by a cement truck. Lights on all the shifting lit up. Service 4 wheel drive light came on. Mileage started flashing. Some light with car and wavy roads light came on. It just stopped rolling while driving.2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude only 69,000 miles.

The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to don K Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (6219 hwy 93 S, whitefish, mt 59937, (406) 862-2571) however, the mechanic was unable to identify the cause failure. The failure recurred and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.
When driving my vehicle jerks me extremely hard and engine makes loud thump noise. I've almost hit multiple vehicles in front of me from it julting me forward. I'm pregnant and it's extremely concerning.
When starting in motion the car hesitated then jerks into motion. It will jerk between shifting gears in the automatic transmission. Sometimes it jerks so hard like you were rear ended. We have reported several times to the Jeep dealership and they keep telling us nothing is wrong with it. It will hesitate and jerk in reverse and forward. At times it feels unsafe to drive. This has been occurring ever since we purchased this vehicle.
At around 40,000 miles, touch screen/radio would randomly shut off and on, and service shifter comes on intermittently. Sometimes stays on constantly, sometimes comes on and off. Very frustrating as numerous people have reported these issues all over the internet, but Jeep has done absolutely nothing about it. Some reports even mention injuries involved in the issue. No vehicle should have these issues this commonly at a very acceptable low mileage.
Service shifter and service 4WD lights come up on dash and the shifter prnd lights come on at shifter on start up and while driving and have to cut switch on and off in order to drive it at times
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the service shifter message was displayed on the instrument panel with several shift option warning lights illuminated. After restarting the vehicle, the failure was occasionally self corrected. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified however, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 28,000. Invalid VIN.
Transmission shifting is erratic. From a stop the vehicle may pause before the transmission engages. At highway speed shifting is also erratic. The transmission does not downshift properly, thus revving the engine and acceleration is difficult. Manufacturer tries to solve the issue with software updates.
I am getting repetitive "service shifter" notices on my dash. This can be a safety issue in more ways than just the issue with the vehicle. #1 - I cannot see how fast I'm going when that is being displayed on my instrument panel. #2, when I comes on, I have to turn the car off to get it to go off, sometimes in 75 + mph traffic. This is a danger and safety hazard. #3 - I have spoken to and taken to dealerships, which tell me they cannot do anything unless it is on, which I find ludicrious and hard to believe. I have been looking online and this is a common problem with Jeep vehicles. Why hasn't there been a recall on this? clearly, something is very wrong for there to be this many complaints. The issue happens with the vehicle is in motion, or stationary. There is no rhyme or reason to when it happens. I have not been able to drive to the dealership when it comes on, because I am either on the road where there are no dealerships, or early in the morning going to work when the dealership is not open, or otherwise not availble. This needs a recall on it immediately! I have read it can be faulty wiring, which has the possibility of causing a fire. I paid for an extended warranty through mopar and I need to get this fixed. My 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport has approx. 59,000 miles on it, but this has been happening over a period of time. The last time was 9/6 (Sunday) but it's been happening almost every week here recently. Turning the car off clears it, but that doesn't mean it's not dangerous or it's not causing damage to my vehicle.
I hereby inform you that my Jeep Cherokee has a care plus protection, this vehicle (given on trade-in by the original owner) was purchased from a Lexus dealer in ponce, pr. They cannot give me the information from the original owner [xxx], for privacy reasons, it has been unsuccessful to locate the original owner to be able to make the transfer, I need it to be done, since the Jeep still has its guarantee and therefore the owner original paid for this plan (info above), I have also been guided by lawyers regarding a "class settlement" based on the defective transmission of the manufacturer from the years 2014 to 2017, really this gonna be my last last option, finally I found the original owner and he sent me the transfer form already signed and I sent thru mail, if the care plus guarantee was paid, why they do not transfer it to me having the transfer form. My vehicle is currently at the dealer for transmission issues, and I have no car at this time. The transfer form was sent to troy Michigan and was received on August 5-2020. I called today, and they said that this plan that cover until November 2021 was cancelled without any notice from the owner or me, they claim that I have to do the transfer 60 days after purchased from the dealer. I'm the purchaser, how can I know this vehicle has the protection plan already paid, even the dealer Lexus didn't know that, because this was a trade-in. Now this 2015 transmissions is going to cost me about $5,000 dollars, with only 37,000 miles odometers. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Transmission does not downshift smoothly during moving turns at intersections. When approaching a turn and gas is off/brake is on, and still rolling at low speed (~5 mph) and then clear to proceed, brake is off/gas is back on, first shift is very violent, feels like I'm getting re-ended. Also at high speeds when in hill climb and situation where gas off to coast for a bit is required, violent upshift occurs. Feels like I'm being re-ended in both of these scenarios. I fear the transmission will fail on me during one of these slow speed situations in an intersection causing an accident or on the highway leaving me stranded. I have taken it too Jeep dealer here in scottsdale and they say nothing is wrong and that this zf 9 speed transmission is acting normally. I don't agree with that compared to many other cars I have driven over my lifetime. This transmission is not normal. This happens everyday. The only way to make it not do this is to stop for 1 second to allow the transmission to settle and then proceed which is not normal driving. I've owned vehicle for 1 year and behavior happens daily.
My 2015 Jeep Cherokee will go into neutral whilst driving and then traction control light comes on, check engine light, service shifter, then will not drive says to shift to park then put into gear. I do the following and still won't try. Have tried shutting it off turning it back on and nothing works.
