'service shifter' intermittently comes on. All lights are lit up at shifter P, R, N, D and stay on. When vehicle is turned off and on again, it seems to be fine. Comes on at least once within 10 starts. Reading forums and dealership does not seem to know what the problem is. Of course they want to see is when issue is occurring, not an easy task. Even when issue is occurring I was able to drive. Concerned as to what and why this problem is occurring. Could it become a safety issue?
Bought the car about 6 months ago started having issues with transmission shifting and took it in and they told me all it needed was a software update and still to this day I have even more issues car don't start at time and then when it does check engine light turns on and when I try to put it on drive I big a big club I noise and you can really feel the car shake from the shift and and says service transmission and then all of a sudden all the service light come of by far the worse car I have ever bought!! and tell this day I still have those issues
Emergency parking brake (epb) will not release. Enough complaints that Jeep issued a tsb on it. Although it happened to us when vehicle was parked, it could have been applied when vehicle was moving. Noticed after we went to move vehicle after parked. Display shows "service emergency brake". lots of other complaints on same issue in your database and in Jeep user groups.. please do the right thing and get a recall issued, car towed on a flat bed to daytona Jeep. Left skid marks left in parking lot at embry riddle university. - rear wheels locked and would not budge one inch. Bad tsb mentions water infiltration around epb module near rear tire in rear hatch area. Complaint also filed with Jeep. Case 64649523. Not safe and expensive to repair if no recall. Serious issue.
Had dealer perform Chrysler recall V69 reprogram transmission control module on 9/19/19. Went to start vehicle next morning for work and the shifter lights are all lit and dash shows service shifter. Dealer service is adamant that the two are unrelated. Dropped off on Monday morning, with no call until 30 min before service closes. Had to return call next day to find out the part needs to be ordered and may take 3-4 days. Extended warranty will not cover. Dealer is charging me full price on parts and labor. This is my third questionable repair on this vehicle under 80,000 miles.
Emergency parking brake (epb) locks up. Can not release. Jeep tsb mentions water infiltration around epb module by spare tire causes this issue. This could have happened when driving (it did not). Cant release brake. Cant move car. Brake is electric and releases upon gear shift movement tsb reported that connector and module gets corroded from water that enters from a bad seal. The shorted out module / connector could have cause brake lockup at high mph

I went to start my car this morning and it would not start. I asked a neighbor for a jump and when I got the car on I shifted into reverse and it shut off. I again jumped it and lights on my dash kept saying service transmission. And all the dash lights went out. I then tried to again put it in gear and the parking break light came on although on the actual light switch it was not illuminated. I tried to take my child to school and was unable to due to the car would drive and then shut off again. I've had this car for less than 2 months from the dealership and seems that my type of vehicle has a recall just not for my specific VIN
This is my 2nd complaint since the transmission issue on 8/6/19 (tracking #11242090). I have not received an update regarding that issue. I followed up with the manufacturer who informed me that my VIN was not associated with the recall. On 8/7/19, I had the dealer perform a diagnostic test and they found that my SUV required a software update on the transmission and powertrain. The same recall affecting the 3.2L but not issued to my VIN. On 9/8/19, my SUV began surging multiple times when I was in idle at city stoplights and died when in shifted into park three times within an hour. The only indication of an issue on my dashboard was the battery light that came on once the car died. The dash and radio continued to perform fine but the engine shut off with the key still in the ignition. I had the battery tested on 8/06/19 along with the alternator and terminals and they were at 100%. the battery was new when purchased 11/2018. I'd like to resolve this issue in order to feel safe driving this vehicle. Service shifter light consistently comes on. Spoke with dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep and they indicated they have had numerous complaints about the same problem and Jeep has redesigned the part as there was a flaw in the original design. Numerous forums detail the problem as well.
My vehicle was taken to a Jeep dealer to take care of two other recall issues. I parked it at the dealership the evening before the service was to be done. Other than the two recalls nothing was wrong with my vehicle. The next day the dealership called to tell me that the recalls were done but when they drove it in to be repaired, the 'service shifter' light was on. It was not the evening before. Out of no where this light came on and now it will not go out and I have no lights indicating if I am in park, reverse, neutral or drive or (+\-). the vehicle was stationary when this occurred. I also can not view the exact speed I am traveling at, or any of the computer options that were available on the vehicle, that area just reads 'service shifter.'
My Jeep is popping out of gear, tells me to shut off the vehicle and restart it. I went to Dodge to ind out if it could be fixed and they said since its not apart of the recall that we will have to pay out of pocket. There is a recall on this Jeep for the 6 cylinder 2014, its for the same thing my Jeep is doing. This is now happening almost everyday, im afraid my vehicle won't turn on one day and im gonna get hit by another car or worse.
I started my car early in the morning to go to work and after a couple of feet of driving the vehicle, the engine turned off and battery light came on. Battery is sufficiently charged. Turned the car back on, drove a couple more blocks and it did it again, then again while trying to get on the freeway.
Several gear shifter indicator lights are on at the same time. With no indication if the vehicle is in reverse or drive. Talk to the dealership and they said there are wires broken and the wire harness needs to be replaced. I believe this is a manufacturing defect, how can anything I did create this malfunction but I'm being charged for the repairs.
Starting at the beginning of this month my car will randomly shut off and state to 'shift gear into park' the gear shift lights on all letters light up red and the car takes about 20 minutes to start back up. Today it happened three times in a row while in the car with my daughter and it has me petrified. We went up the hill by our home and it happens and the car started going backwards.

Then it progressed to I went to change from park to drive and the engine just reved when the gas was pressed (acting as though it was in neutral) and I yet again had to put it back into park and turn it off to get it to go into the right gear. Then it progressed to my battery not working properly and my car not wanting to start up right away. And it got even worse to the point my car now says I need service on the shifter. I have had this car for 9 months and I drive it 10 miles a day (to and from work combined) 5 days a week and hardly ever anymore than that. I had never had any problems with it before this week and now all these problems are popping up at once.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle lost motive power while driving the contact was almost left stranded the mechanic was unable to pinpoint the failure. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, without warning the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to gengras Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 460 Connecticut blvd, East hartford, ct 06108, (860) 289-0246, to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 19V447000 (power train). The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,300.

Takata recall fill car with gas it will shut off and loose all soeed control and the serbice parking break comes on windshield wipers go you loose power steering lights flash, also car wont go again after you slow down to incomplete stop, also looses acceleration as youre driving with no warning will say to put in park and when you do you eventually loose power steering and you have to try to restart multiple times transmission jumps and jolts when shifting gears at any random time. This all happens very randomly and gets worse any time you put gas in especially filled up all the way have taken to dealer multiple times and they say there is nothing wrong with transmission they cant get it to duplicate issue this has been happening since ive had the car 4 years now and the other issues were supposedly electrical caused by a water bottle under my seat but yet the bottle was removed and im still having problems
I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee sport and my service shifter came on and my car wouldn't start unless I jump started it, called the dealership they said they never of heard of anything like that, I think this needs to be investigated or someone is going to end up kill because of there car messing up.
