My problem started about a week ago when I went to put my car into reverse from park after having just started it and it drove forward instead of backwards. I had to put it back into park then back into reverse before it would go backwards (no I was not on a hill I was flat, the car was acting as though it was in drive instead of reverse). Then it progressed to I went to change from park to drive and the engine just reved when the gas was pressed (acting as though it was in neutral) and I yet again had to put it back into park and turn it off to get it to go into the right gear. Then it progressed to my battery not working properly and my car not wanting to start up right away. And it got even worse to the point my car now says I need service on the shifter. I have had this car for 9 months and I drive it 10 miles a day (to and from work combined) 5 days a week and hardly ever anymore than that. I had never had any problems with it before this week and now all these problems are popping up at once

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted gears abruptly. The contact also stated that the gear felt as if it shifted into neutral, which caused the engine to rev high. The contact was unable to move the vehicle out of traffic. The contact had to disengage the accelerator pedal to stop the vehicle from revving high. On one occasion, while driving 20 mph, the engine revved high and the speed would not exceed 30 mph. The contact had to decelerate to move the vehicle onto the road shoulder. The failure was experienced numerous times. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer regarding an unknown manufacturer recall for the transmission module replacement. The transmission module replacement did not correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufcturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.

19V-447. We began having this issue last year where we had no idea what the cause of it was. Initially the vehicle would begin jerking while accelerating and continue even at high speeds. This was intermittent and whenever we took the vehicle in for service on this they could not replicate it happening. It began getting worse within a few months and one day last month when my wife was stopped at an intersection when the light turned green she accelerated and lost all power to the transmission causing the vehicle to become disabled in the middle of the intersection. We filed a claim and had our vehicle towed to the Jeep dealership.. the vehicle will suddenly lose all power to the gas and cause the vehicle transmission light to come on. The vehicle blinks that in order to get the Jeep to start up again it must be shifted into park and then it continues to blink the transmission warning. We've been lucky to not have been in an accident yet but this vehicle is unsafe to drive. We were told roughly a month ago when we brought it in for servicing at our local dealership it was flashed and fixed. After researching and finding there was no fix, we were clearly mislead by the repair shop. This happened again 3 days ago where it stopped in the middle of another intersection when my wife was accelerating from a stop and again was disabled in the middle of the intersection. If left for a period of time the Jeep will start with the transmission light on and drive for a short period of time before doing it again.

Vehicle has been a constant headache. Purchased Aug 21, 2018. December something broke, ended up being a transfer case shattered. Damaging our radiator. A week after picking up I still felt the vehicle was off and tried to return to dealer, they didn't have another trailhawk and said they would call me when they did. A few months gone by of hearing nothing. We did a tire rotation and noticed a huge difference in wear. Obviously the front end hasnt been right for months as ai originally complained about. Scheduled the vehicle in for service again to find it needs a wheel bearing replacement. Received the vehicle back and the notice the passenger rear is still making a lot of noise, enough you can hear over the radio, and the steering feels tight and pulls to the left.

Takata recall fill car with gas it will shut off and loose all soeed control and the serbice parking break comes on windshield wipers go you loose power steering lights flash, also car wont go again after you slow down to incomplete stop, also looses acceleration as youre driving with no warning will say to put in park and when you do you eventually loose power steering and you have to try to restart multiple times transmission jumps and jolts when shifting gears at any random time. This all happens very randomly and gets worse any time you put gas in especially filled up all the way have taken to dealer multiple times and they say there is nothing wrong with transmission they cant get it to duplicate issue this has been happening since ive had the car 4 years now and the other issues were supposedly electrical caused by a water bottle under my seat but yet the bottle was removed and im still having problems

Transmission jumps going into 3 gear, cant completely fill the car with gas because my transmission light comes and states to "service transmission". slow take off, took to dealership with the check engine light on and found no problems. Took to auto zone and they found a code stating that it was a throttle body position sensor. Please lets find a solution to resolve the issue.

My Jeep will jump forward uncontrollably while moving between 9-13 mph. When it happens, it sounds like a bomb going off in the transmission slamming gears down. This happens regularly and can not be controlled. Often times this will happen with the shift lights are all red and you can not tell what gear you are in. I've had this shift module replaced multiple times and on the way home from the dealer will jump again.

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee has been having transmission issues since September, 2018. The service transmission light comes on as well as a message displaying "service transmission" in the dashboard message center. Although the vehicle doesn't "act up" while driving, once you come to a stop it chugs and chugs and takes about 5 minutes to get up to speed again. The only way to reset it is to stop completely, turn it off and wait about 15 minutes and start it back up again. When you start it back up it seems to run fine but the service transmission idiot light is still on. This has happened a total of 3 times since September, 2018. When I take it to the dealership they claim the computer shows no evidence of an error code and that when it happens again to bring it in. The problem is that when it happens I'm too far away from the dealership to bring it in and every time I stop at a stop light/stop sign I hold up traffic because it takes so long to get up to speed. How do they expect me to be able to "bring it in"? they refuse to do nothing about it.

Transmission feels like it is slipping while in motion and it randomly goes into neutral which had to be put into park and then back to drive in order to move. Sometimes it requires a complete engine restart. This has happened randomly and always when I'm driving and on the road or highway but luckily was always able to pull over to the side avoiding a major accident.

Approx a year ago-purchased 2014 Jeep lattitude from dealer. On test drive felt hesitation in shifting. 1-2-3- gear- seller made note to check problem.took following day. In a day or so again noticed problem. Made appointment. Needed software update-now ok. Test drive 3-5 miles. Next day-same problem. Mechanic noticed problem. Needed trans replaced. Trans for 2014 & 2015 Jeep is a 9-nine speed trans. Week later replaced with same type of 9 speed trans. Picked up after serviced--within 10 minutes same prob.back to dealer-mechanic checked--could not duplicate problem--said runs like a 9 speed should. Driiver is problem. Not used to the operation/feel of a 9 speed. Jeep slips gears, hesitation-safety concern-no pickup when from a stop or changing lanes on the roadway. Did some research on google--500 plus documented cases -video of this problem by well known reporter/investigator. I paid a large sum of money for a unsafe vehicle--Jeep is aware of well documented issues-also problem does not show up on scanner-so its not happening. Dealer not giving me a fair deal on another vehicle. Black hole with no light at the end. Note: Difficult to continue-recently out of hospital-and shake with parkinsons

Ok I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee limited with front wheel drive. Only has under 54000 miles on it I am experiencing transmission problems especially in reverse it's extremely loud and rumbles constant while in reverse. Also while in drive once moveing it bucks but eventually starts to go away after a lil while. But I also loose power I'll have to put the pedal to the floor the accelerator and I move extremely slowly then it will eventually kick in and have a very hard time going up large hills all hills really and it struggles to get up it like has a lot of lack of power I've put my Jeep in the shop numerous times and have had major work done to it. One of them that was costly was the car would not read that it was in park so I couldn't shut the car off I love the Jeep product but I hate this one it needs to be recalled. Thanks

My horn will not work at all nor the cruise control is not working at all as well. So is all of the controls on the steering wheel. Also a low headlight went out and I may have a stuck clutch problem as well. I need all of this for my safety, my passengers, and my vehicle safely as well. I am requesting a recall so these matters can be straighten out as soon as possible. I don't know what's going to happen the next day, but I need these situations fixed as much as I can.

Jeep will not fully shift to drive. When shifting gears from park to drive the gear will slip into neutral. Then when I am able to get into drive, switching from drive to park once I make it to a destination the 'park' gear isn't recognized so I have to keep shifting back and forth until it locks. Also, I have a sloped drive way. I've had a near extreme accident when I parked and my wife was coming around the back but park wasn't recognized and the Jeep started to roll backwards. Luckily I was able to mash on the brake before anything happened.

This is the second time it's happened. After I fill up a tank load of gas, the car wants to lunge forward after coming to a stop. It does a few jolts before it picks up speed. Today, when I cranked it, it stalled. I turned it off then cranked it again and it was fine. Then I pulled out the driveway and proceeded to drive down the street (35 mph). When I approached the stop sign, the car said 'shift to park to shift gears.' I shifted from drive to park, waited a minute, then back to drive. The car would not go. I turned it off and then back on, shifted to drive then proceeded to drive. I got up to 45 mph and approached a stop sign. The car said 'shift to park to shift gears.' At the stop sign, I shifted from drive to park, waited then shifted to drive. The car would not go. I turned it off then tried to turn it back on and it stalled. I turned it off then waited a few minutes before turning it back on.

My car stopped without warning in the middle of a busy road while the car was in drive. I was on a city street going straight. Then the screen said service transmission. Told me to put car in park and then drive again. I was able to get out of harms way, after several attempts to engage the transmission while I was on the road. I put the car into neutral to get it to roll into a parking lot. Parked in parking lot. Put into drive again, and care would not move. Screen prompted me to shut off vehicle and restart. Did this, and same issue. Car would not move. Did this two more times and then gave up and called a tow truck. My first incident with issues with this car started over the last few weeks. I purchased it used in February 2019, with a clean carfax. It is now June 2019, and I'm starting to see the issues with transmission. While parked on day for 3 hours, I hopped in the car to start it and it wouldn't start after several attempts, but no error messages. I didn't think much of it because the screen said the fob wasn't detected, so I thought maybe the battery on fob was low. This problem has not occurred since. The other problems I noticed are extreme jerking while driving the vehicle, when accelerating at a stop or while driving. One time it jerked so hard going from a stop to drive, that I thought I had been hit in the back of the car. My car is currently with the purchasing dealership getting looked at.

The transmission has extremely rough shifts and then gas pedal won't work and you have to pull to a shoulder or parking lot and turn the car off and back on again to get the transmission to work. It's happened both on turnpike and city streets. Once I was coasting down a hill without my foot on either the gas or break.
