Vehicle experienced failure of the recall component prior to recall notification, damage to other brake components due to defect, owner request reimbursement. (99V-340)
Consumer received recall (99V-340) for brake rotors. Vehicle was taken to durocher Jeep Eagle dealership. Consumer received invoice saying work was done. Took vehicle to mechanic to have new pads put on, and they pointed out that there was cracking around the hub. Consumer called Jeep manufacturer to complain, and was told to talk to the service manager & if that didn't work, to call the owner of the durocher dealership.

Front brake rotors found to be corroded but not worn, imho not safe to reuse. Minnesota not considered in the rust belt to be covered under current recall, you've got to be kidding! the problem is that people in Minnesota are driving around on corroded front rotors like I found on my Jeep and are not being notified of the danger.
I have been having numerous problems with front end, tried numerous cures, and am still having same problem. While driving, the front end will begin to shake, when I slow down to 30-35mph, it will go away. It is not a constant problem, but will happen at least once a day. I have replaced front rotors due to excessive vibration while driving. The dealer has replaced several times, had an independent change this time. Now am experiencing a constant noise from front end.
When traveling 35 mph & upon depressing the brake pedal right front rotors broke, causing vehicle to pull to either left or right. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer has replaced brake rotors.
While driving disc brakes separated from the hub on the rotor, causing a loss of the brakes. This happen edon both of the front wheels, but at separate times. Dealer has not been contacted.
Front rotor separated from the drum, causing the brakes to malfunction. The pedal went straight to the floor while travleing at 30mph the vehicle stopped after sliding about 20ft. After applying brakes, they pulled to the left but still worked.
While pulling out of parking lot vehicle's left front wheel rotor cracked, split in two. Dealer notified and was informed that the 1994 & 1989 vehicle was recalled for rotors.
