When you are stopped at a light and it changes to green you step on the gas and the car bucks like it is going to stall.this also happens when you start the car up and put it in drive give it gas and it bucks.U have to give it more gas to make it drive hopefully it will not just stall.I think this is the dual transmission problem. Thank you shelly

My 2017 Hyundai Tucson is one of the many vehicles that Hyundai has finally acknowledged as having dangerous issues relating to the dual clutch transmission. I have been complaining to my Hyundai dealer for two years that my Tucson stutters, stammers and loses power while accelerating from a stop. I brought the vehicle to rosen Hyundai for the third time to have them check this issue on November 8, 2019, and I finally received a response other than "we can't duplicate the problem." The service technician told me that they are well aware of the dct problems and that they will take corrective measures to rectify it. He added that the clutch parts required to fix the problems are on backorder until mid-December. (note: As of 12/29/2019, parts are still not in) he took prompt action to obtain a rental car for me, so as far as I'm concerned, rosen Hyundai has (now) taken appropriate action. The two issues that I have are 1) I have been without my vehicle for almost nearly two months with no updates from Hyundai on when issues will be resolved, and 2) my vehicle is an all-wheel drive SUV with nearly all of the available bells and whistles, but Hyundai has only authorized payment to enterprise for the "standard" rental car. I insisted on having an all wheel drive SUV for which enterprise is directly charging me $7/day, and this vehicle drives like a big noisy truck has no gps routing and not even a compass. I strongly feel that Hyundai should have provided a loaner vehicle of like type to me or at least pay for a rental vehicle that is equal or better than my vehicle at no charge to me! I have owned 10 new Hyundai vehicles since the early 2000's. my current Tucson is the first time that I have not felt like an appreciated customer. I want reimbursement for all charges from enterprise (currently over $350).

When accelerating from a stop or slow motion, the car sounds like it is accelerating but it does not move. You feel like you are in neutral. I had pulled out from a stop sign, with plenty of time to make the right turn, as traffic was back a distance. I pulled out onto the main street and did not continue moving although I was pressing on the accelerator, but the car RPM's were going up, no speed from my vehicle. By the time I let off the accelerator and let the car RPM's recover, the motorcycle was coming right up behind me. He was assuming I would be moving, but he had to swerve to miss hitting my car. This is very dangerous and it is very unpredictable. Both my grown kids have driven the car and have experienced the same thing. I have been to a dealership 3 times regarding this and they just stated it is the dct.

Taking off from a stop the transmission will not engage and causes the motor to shutter. Then it will go into hit at a high RPM causing you to jump forward at a high rate of speed.

Filed a complaint on 8/12/19. NHTSA id number 11243384 did not hear anything from NHTSA and I cannot figure out on the NHTSA website how to track or follow up on this complaint. We are bringing the vehicle to the dealer again to look at the same issue.

I have taken my 2017 Hyundai Tucson sport fwd into southwest Hyundai, 8800 lomas ne, albuqueque, nm for: Turbo lulls before accelerating; vehicle hesitates when slowing, stopping then accelerating. This problem has gotten worse with vehicle jerking, chugging, stalling delayed acceleration when slowing down; turning corners; stopping; turning into intersection then accelerating. I have taken this vehicle in for this problem on: 5/28/2019; 8/01/2019;11/11/2019; and 11/15/19. On 11/15/19 Hyundai's service department said that there was a problem with the dual-clutch transmission ("dct") and it cannot be fixed or replaced. All these problems occur intermittently. You don't know when it will occur. The dealership service did experience it as well. On 11/15/2019 I was then handed a copy of United States district court for the central district of California - attention current and former owners and lessees of Hyundai 2015-2017 sonato eco, 2016-2017 Tucson, and 2016-2017 veloster vehicles equipped with dual-clutch transmissions ("class vehicles"). I also received in the mail a couple days later; a notice from Hyundai motor America, po box 2704, huntington beach, ca 926647: Wylie V. Hyundai motor America, no. 8:16-cv-02102-doc-jcg. I was only able to upload one document. For informaion go to dctsettlement.hyundaiusa.com this vehicle is dangerous and unsafe to drive.

On numerous occasions this vehicle has failed to accelerate. The vehicle rpms rise but it takes roughly 2-3 seconds to engage. I feel this is very unsafe especially when making a left turn in traffic. I have take it to the dealer more than once with no help. The 2016 model was recalled for exactly what I have experienced and I believe the 2017 model should be as well.

Car engine/transmission stalls, lags, hesitates, jumps and chugs when gas is pressed from a stopped position or in slow stop and go traffic. When pressing on the gas pedal the engine/trans does not engage and move the car. After a few seconds the car will engage and jerk, and jump. The hesitation makes the car feel like it is going to stall out. Very dangerous situation. I am afraid every time I get in the car to drive. This has been going since the day bought the car

I am having issues with the vehicle not accelerating when the gas pedal is pressed. This usually happens from a stop or slow speed. This is an intermittent problem, however, it seems to be happening more frequently recently. I was afraid of taking it to the dealership since it didn't happen all the time, and I was afraid of a bill if they couldn't replicate the behavior. So now I've had my vehicle to the dealer. They say there's no codes showing. They've assured me that this is how the vehicle is supposed to work. I assure you, that my vehicle is not supposed to leave me lagging with no power in the middle of an intersection being honked at by other vehicles who narrowly miss hitting me. I even asked for a reprogramming, (since that seems to have temporarily corrected the problem for some), but they were unwilling since, to them, my vehicle is working as it should. I'm aware of the class action suit for this vehicle, but since I can't afford to trade my vehicle, (even with the class action money), I really just want my current vehicle to work properly.

The vehicle will stall out. You can hit the gas and hit the gas and nothing will happen for almost 30 seconds then it will jerk really hard and go. This has happened several times and I have almost been T boned because of it stalling out when pulling out of a parking lot. This has happened several times and have had it at the Hyundai dealership and of course they can't find anything.

Vehicle has a dual-clutch transmission and hesitates or almost stalls when accelerating from a standing stop. It doesn't happen all the time. Dealer resets sensors in transmission for us periodically which helps for a while; is this a flaw in manufacture or just the nature of a dual-clutch transmission?

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. While in traffic, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to lawley Hyundai (28000 East fry boulevard, Sierra vista, AZ 85635, (520)-226-0656) to be repaired per tsb number: 16-GI001 (transmission dual clutch); however, the repair did not correct the failure. The vehicle failed to accelerate after a stop. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 8,004.

2nd time this has happened to me. 2017 Hyundai Tucson decided it was not going to shift out of park even though the shift was allowing me to shift via the shifter and showing it was shifting on the dash. It was parked. Even when towed, the wheels locked and wouldn't move from the parked spot.. it worked in the am, shifting funny of course, then come after noon, wouldn't go. Finally the check engine light came on this time whereas the first time (95500K) it didn't. currently has 100754 miles and I'm out of state. Already contacted corporate again.

On multiple occasions, when accelerating from a stopped position, my car hesitates to move when pressing the gas pedal. In addition, the transmission struggles to find a gear resulting in a lack of power, engine revving and jerky movement of the vehicle when traveling at low and slow speeds. This is extremely dangerous as I've had to slam on the brakes to prevent my car entering cross traffic because the car failed to move when pressing on the gas pedal.

I have been complaining about the transmission since I purchased this vehicle and every 3 months they 'adjust' it to fit my driving habits. It's a dangerous vehicle and does not accelerate when it should. I can never trust it to pull into traffic because I don't know if it's going to move. It has slipped into what I would call neutral and had no power at all, just rolled into oncoming traffic. I filed a complaint with NHTSA shortly after I purchased it but do not see the original complaint filed. This is a dangerous vehicle and not trustworthy. I purchased the extended warranty, if not, I'm sure I would have additional costs associated with this vehicle. I want to get rid of it but know it's not worth near what I paid for it because if this transmission. Hesitation happens all the time. There's no way to pinpoint one date but the first time was just after I purchased it.
