Consumer states power sliding door is inoperative. The sliding door had gotten stuck, and trapped the kids in the vehicle. Ph the seat belts had unbolted from the interior. The sliding doors have been repaired on four occasions and remain inoperative. When the power is off, the doors cannot be opened manually and the transmission failed. Scc
Consumer called complaining about having problems with the side doors. Also stated that the doors get stuck not allowing him to open the door neither from the inside or outside. Dealer was contacted and latches were change and still did not work.
The consumer believes that the automatic sliding doors are not sensitive enough to objects in it's path and is concerned that a child may be injured by the doors.
While traveling on the highway in inclement the door will come open and close intermittenley. And get stuck she went to open the door and the handle came off. The dealership is aware of the problem.
Consumer states that the doors have a high tolerance for something blocking them and only the full pressure of an adult's upper body stops the door and gets it to go backwards. Consumer is concerned about the safety of the children. And feels this is a safety problem.
The sliding power doors do not stop when they hit resistance. I was trapped between frame and door for a good 5 minutes in a large parking lot and could not get free until I finally wrestled the key remote out of a pocket and hit door open, otherwise, I was stuck. I could not move to free myself. I could not move the door. Thank goodness it wasn't my child that got stuck (I had my 1 year old with me, and it was pretty scary for her to see me trapped). This is a reaccuring problem. The dealer says it's just the way the system works, it's not defective. Evidently, the door won't reverse for an obstruction until it is 2" from closing (much smaller than a child's head or torso). This is a major safety issue. I had a bruised side. My brother-in-law (same make, model and year) - who's a big guy - got his arm trapped and bruised. We told yet another brother-in-law interested in same make, model, year - not to get the power door option... "it's too dangerous for the kids"... and he didn't!! this is all very alarming for adults. I worry about the first child who will be seriously injured. Something needs to be done. Thank you.
Intermittently both sliding doors fail to open. Both doors have continuously been repaired. The dealer hasn't been able to diagnose the problem. The dealer indicated Honda is aware. The problem has been ongoing for a year. Nlmboth rear sliding door seals have been replaced, also the rear sliding door latch has been replaced.
Seatbelts will not retract. Driver's side seat belt does not retract correctly. Instead of door opening it presses forward. Seat belt replaced three times because belt continued to come out until maximum length and would not retract. Automatic sliding door was broke. The consumer is asking for replacement or refund for the vehicle.
Automatic sliding door does not have a sensor or indicator or any type of reverse mechanism to stop door from moving forward while passengers are entering vehicle, which could cause passenger to become injured.
The child was playing with key ring with remote control for door latches when child hit remote. This caused door to start closing with parent in door frame. Door handle was grabbed to prevent door from closing. But door kept closing until stopping. Consumer's arm and wrist was pulled. Consumer contacted dealership & informed by mechanic, nothing can be done about remote control locks on door.
There has been no injury to report as of yet. I feel that the power closing doors are very dangerous. They exert a great deal of pressure before the pressure sensor kicks in and reverses the door. A child could reach up getting in the van, pull the handle and initiate the door to close. If he faltered, it would be very easy for a body part (ie neck) to get lodged in the door and the force mechanism would not be enough to reverse the door before injury or death to occur.
Power doors do not stop properly when an obstruction is met. This almost injured my child. I believe that these doors should at least meet the standard of a garage door for reversing/stopping. I am told by the service staff that the sensitivity cannot be adjusted. I believe that this is an unacceptable hazard for a vehicle that is marketed for families with smallchildren.
