So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Sliding door failures: 8/2005 passenger door failing to open. Took to the dealer who replaced door closer motor assembly. This corrected the problem, however, I was told the car has "old type" door switches and these most likely will fail and then have to be replaced with "new" switches. Cost $361.37 1/2006: Driver sliding door failing to open. Dealer had to replace sliding roller and junction switches and stopper. Cost$ $631.35 have had to spend almost $1000 in 5 months just to get in and out of the sliding doors!
The spark plug blew out of the rear cylinder while driving on the highway. It sounded like a loud shot gun. This happened on July 10, 2005. Had not changed anything under hood. Contacted Honda, they would not pay to tow vehicle to dealer. The consumer fixed it himself. It massed up the ignition coil, shorted out the system, and shut the engine off.
The vehicle has a burn smell coming from the engine area. Also the vehicle shut down and there is no power. Please provide additional information. Dealer is aware of the problem.
Regardless of humidity level, I get a horrible static/electrical shock every time I exit the vehicle. The local dealer gave me a Honda fact sheet with suggestions I.e. use static guard, ground with key in ignition, spray with scotch guard, however, nothing reduces the shock! I hate driving this van. Honda needs to address this. After speaking to several other owners, they all have the same problem, but just live with it. It is horrible!
