I bought this car at 2016 4 months later I'm hearing metal to metal noise at driver side wheel Then I took it to the dealer they said is the seat belt making that noise. I ask, then are you sure not from the driver side wheel. They no it's from the seat belt. Then I. Said ok but the sound through the year it becomes loader Then I look online for most common problems on honda hrv. Then I found about 5 or 6 forum for honda hrv bad bearing on front driver side. 2020 I took it back to the dealer and they said no its not the bearing is the seatbelt that there finding again second tome around. Then I took it to a tire shop. They said my bearing was bad and it's been like that for a long time they said. They said the honda dealer should at list found this problem on the second time I complain. I said no, they still said is the seat belt. The tire shop said I have to change the bearing because is worn out so bad that they don't recommend me to drive it. So I have them change it. Do I have a reason to complain at honda company about my problem
Odometer display doesn't work. It comes on only after driving a long distance. Doesn't help to know how much fuel is remaining or when I take it for emission test where they need to see odometer reading. I have seen many user complaints on the same topic. I took it to two dealers - Honda of Chantilly and Tysons and they said it's not something they can fix and asked me to find a local mechanic.
Hi, the CVT fill plug keeps coming out which cause leaks and is a safety hazard. This has happened on numerous occasions. Apparently, it affects the 2016-2018 Honda HR-V and Civic 2015-2018. May you please recall these vehicles to fix this problem because it is a hazard.
I have had this car repaired and diagnosed by 5 different dealerships, I have had leak test done The check engine and parking brake light keep coming on with the word -??park-?? flashing when I drive. The codes say purge valve which has been replaced 3 times!!! it also says fuel leak and they did a smoke test for a leak but nothing!! there is something faulty with this and it-??s only a matter of time before it reacts poorly while driving and kills someone. There are SEVERAL other people online dealing with the same issues for the 2016 Honda HRV there needs to be an investigation before someone dies from whatever is faulty in this system I have been complaining about this since 2021!!! it keeps coming back

Paint recall expired. I have owned my vehicle since new, production date is 12/2015 with about 82,000 miles. It has been serviced regularly at the Honda dealership since new, my information has never changed. I have never been notified personally, phone call, text, email or regular mail that my vehicle had a recall for paint. The pictures on the NHTSA web site matches mine exactly. Honda America says that the recall covers my vehicle but it has expired. Is this fair when I have never been notified?
I had the push start button replaced approximately 2 years ago due to the part failing and the car being extremely hard to start. This was covered by Honda (not sure if it was an actual recall). Now I am having the exact same issue again. This is extremely dangerous as I leave work late at night and alone. I am tired of constantly being stranded and it taking several minutes to get my car started. Their replacement part has failed just like the original part did.
Incident happened one time. Starting car in cold weather (around 25 degrees) after it hadn't been driven in 2 days. The odometer/gas display was black at start up. After a few minutes the gauge lights came on but the digital display was gibberish. I started to drive and once the car warmed up after several minutes the digital display was working as it should and recording milage and acceleration/deceleration speed. My mechanic hooked up the car and no codes were showing a malfunction. Many other folks in the Honda forums have this exact issue. I'm driving this car on a road trip and am concerned something dangerous could occur. For now I will manually/mentally record mileage to ensure I dont run out of gas and praying this isnt a large electrical short issue
The parking brake engages on and off when the car is turned off. There are 3 lights flashing -check engine light -the word -??park-?? - the parking brake light I have had the code read and it says it is the evap canister purge valve which has already been replaced, the light went off temporarily and it-??s back on again. The transmission is noisy when accelerating. The purge valve keeps going bad for no apparent reason and the parking brake randomly engaging and disengaging when the car is turned off leads me to believe there is an issue overall with the build of the car. I am worried the emergency brake will engage when driving.
There is a short circuit of some type in the dash gauge that houses the odometer and gas gauge. It slowly started several years ago, mainly when the weather is cold/humid. The gauge will sometimes flash garbage codes Or sometimes not work at all. This can interfere with knowing how much fuel is in the car or mileage for annual inspections. My personal mechanic is aware of this problem but hasn-??t inspected this particular issue. I have reported it to Honda America, and through a specific forum, I-??m aware that there-??s many people who are also having this same issue. This problem can be reproduced only in cooler/humid weather. Sometimes it can be triggered by pushing/knocking lightly on the face of the gauge.
The white pearl paint is coming off the hRV 2016 car. It is past 7 yrs warranty so Honda of America is telling me they are not responsible. I spoke to a supervisor named Leonard, who was at extension 7042 at the 1-800-999-1009 number. They repainted the car at the five year point which was the roof in the hood where the paint was bubbling, but would only paint the part of the car that had issues at that point they would not repaint the whole car. They tell me that the warranty ended in June even though I did not take ownership of the car until July due to delivery, the car had to be ordered and it had to be shipped to me which meant I received the car in July. They are telling me now they-??re sorry, but there-??s nothing they can do about the paint. This is going to rust. Sheets of the paint and underneath coating is coming off in big pieces on the door on the driver side and passenger side. My family has owned 8 cars with Honda Of America and I have been so happy until this point. Also when I had to take the car due to roof paint before due to recalls, they never give you loaners, or even transportation home from any recalls.
The open trunk lid hasn't stayed up recently, and while I'm accessing items, it crashes down in my head. I didn't see it and it hit me hard. This has begun happening more than once now, as recently as today. Because I didn't expect it or see it, it's dangerous and hurt my head. Perhaps a mild concussion.
My sunroof on my Honda spontaneously exploded while I was driving. My car had been parked in my driveway for months due to covid19 until Saturday when I decided to drive on the highway. I was on 69N to 435 E on the overpass no trucks, cars or anything in front on me and I hear and explosion then air, when I looked around I say nothing but heard air like my windows were down but I was running my air, I opened the sunroof cover and a big hole was in the middle with glass shatter but in tact like a meteor hit it from above but it has been in the 90's lowe 100's here in ks clear weather. There was no glass on the cover and the glass seems to have exploded upwards.
Faulty start/stop switch had to replace at 48000 miles actually less the vehicle wouldn't start after several attempts and sometimes the vehicle would not shut off
Vehicle smart entry indicator light is on. This light has been very intermittent, lighting <1 time per week for about the last year, and goes away with vehicle restart. Today the dealership replaced my battery, and gave the car back to me with the light on, and it will not go away. They want to charge me $150 to scan the car and discover what the problem is. There wasn't actually a problem until now that they light won't shut off.
I noticed one day leaving from work that the car was pulling as if trying to switch gears when I would accelerate. As I began to accelerate on a city street the car began to shake/rock anytime I would try to accelerate. I pulled off into a parking lot to check my tires because I thought maybe it was a flat; all of the tires looked good so I proceeded to start my car and take off. As I did this, they car began shaking when accelerated and would barely accelerate past 20 mph. Again, I pulled off to check the engine this time to see if there was smoke. When I got back into the car I turned it on however it would no longer drive. I had my car towed to my local Honda dealership. There, I was informed by the service team that what was being presented was something they had never seen. They had removed pieces of transmission (metal shards) from the transmission oil. They also stated that the plug for the transmission was completed deformed with metal shards protruding from it. Due to my tremendous upkeep with my car, as I am constantly mindful of when to have it serviced, I do not understand how this could have happened and neither could the mechanics at Honda dealership.
