With the internet is easy to see this is a common problem and there will be many more complaints, it is a poor design, the front passenger door will not stay locked , I think this a safety feature and my wife is very nervous and upset using this CRV and can not lock the drivers door, there is no way. There is a not a manual over ride for this problem? The door will not stay locked. The door lock solenoid will activate but then unlock right away. All the other doors lock. We went on a vacation shopping with friends and had a car full of purchases only to find the doors will not lock. It was also very embarrassing our friends were not impressed. A couple of days ago I was unable to lock our Honda CRV 2007 door by using the remote key. Next day, remote key started to lock and unlock doors, But once I left my remote key inside the car and lock the car manually, I was unable to unlock the doors by the use of mechanical keys and the car was opened only with a help of CAA/AAA serviceman.

Honda dealer (Sisley Canada) had diagnosed the problem. They found out that the lock latch assembly have to be replaced for $95 part, $180 in total, including taxes.

After the repair was done our trusted reliable mechanic observed the defective part and told me that, according to his opinion, the electronic chip inside was damaged by water.

I think the culprit is the black insulation ring as can be seeing at the attached picture. It seems that it was already defective in the time of assembly in 2006.

I had the Left rear door lock replaced at 38,000 miles and had to pay for part only. Honda covered the rest of the cost only because I complained. Now the right rear passenger and right front passenger door locks will not open and stay in the locked position at all times. The only way I can open them is to use the unlock door button on the driver's side and the person has to be quick on the door to get in.

Estimated cost to repair is about $250 a door, which is ridiculous. Honda needs to use an higher quality part or a better vendor. Driven over 50 years and never heard of door lock problems. I won't be purchasing another honda.

Picked up CRV today after having part changed on front passenger door. This door previously would constantly lock and unlock while driving. It would not lock manually. Found a stranger sitting in my car when I returned to my car before I had this fixed. Noticed today that the trunk now does not open. Also the rear drivers side door does not unlock but can be unlocked manually. Honda is sending me back again to Ziebart since they installed an automatic starter. They had me see them before I had the front passenger door fixed because they believed the problem stemmed from the automatic starter. I did this as instructed by Honda. No longer have the automatic starter connected. It truly was a problem with the door and had nothing to do with the automatic starter. Honda is again sending me back to Ziebart since they believe the problem with the trunk not unlocking stems from the way Ziebart removed the automatic starter. I had no problem with the trunk after Ziebart removed the automatic starter. The problem with the trunk and the rear passenger door started after honda had my car for repair and fixed the front passenger door, Honda is blaming ziebart for cutting wires under the dash board. Honda gave me incorrect information the first time. It is hard to believe them this time. This is my second Honda vehicle. I didn't have problems with the first one. This is why I bought another one. With problems beginning on a vehicle that I only have 30,000 miles on It makes me wonder if other problems will pop up soon? I probably will not buy another Honda vehicle in this life time.

My locks kept locking and unlocking while driving down the road. It became so bad that eventually it would not open when taking the key out of the ignition. I had to hurry and open the car by pressing the lock manually. Then when I would open the door, it would lock again, so if I accidentally had my keys in the car or something I would be locked out.

I have taken it in on two separate occasions now to fix it. The first time they replaced the sensors in the front two door which cost around $500. That worked for a couple of days but then it started making the same noise again. I took it back. They said now the sensor in one of the back doors is bad and I had to replace. They did feel bad and only charged me for the part which was $90. However, that price was only if I got my 90,000 mile stuff done. So, again, that visit cost me another $500 total. Now I have had my car back just over the weekend and it is making the clicking noise again. I have one more door to replace now. Why is this such a problem.

I feel like this car is too new to be having so many problems. I had a Nissan that had 225,000 miles on it and had less problems even with the mileage. I will be calling today to let them know that it still isn't fixed. They have been very nice to me but I'm not sure that I will purchase another Honda. I had the same problem as others with having to replace the tires after around 25,000 miles. Now the locks, and my tires are near needing replacing again.
