CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

I-??ve been to many auto shops including the Honda dealer and they all say my vehicle needs to have the fuel pump replaced. I-??ve replaced it more than 5 times. My car stalls and will not accelerate the way it should and is a safety hazard. I am unable to drive the vehicle but it-??s the only car I have. I-??ve heard similar stories from family members that have the same vehicle. Fortunately they were able to purchase a newer vehicle. Not my case though. There were no warning lights prior to this. My car wouldn-??t turn on one day so we changed the battery then it wouldn-??t drive and then it started to stall and if driven it won-??t accelerate the way it should. My car has been like this since 2022. I-??ve called the dealership and they won-??t look into it. There is an open recall for the coupe version of my car but they say my car isn-??t on the list.

My car is facing no starting issues several times a year even though I have done every single maintainance on time at the dealership. This time the dealer told me it is a bulletin 19-034 and need a software update. This could be very dangerous if it happened on the highway. Fortunately, it happened in a small park and I was driving very slow. There is always some starting issues of my Honda Accord since I bought it. I went to the dealership several times every year. Sometimes the dealer ask me to change battery and sometimes the dealer aksed me to change all kinds of fluids. I have changed every single fluids, PCV valve, brake pads and rollters in the car almost yearly and the no start issue is still happening. I feel it takes me too much time and cost me several thousand of dollars every year is too much. Also, if the turnoff happend on the highway it is very dangerous. I am hesitate to take my kids in the car since the problem. Very annoying. Also, the software problem should be solved by the manufacturer free but they are charging me every single time.

Vehicle stall, failed to accelerate. The stall is common and Honda needs to fix this issue before someone gets into an accident. I went to Honda and no issue was found, I am thinking this might be fuel pump recall.

The hose on the gas tank has a hairline crack in it. The only way to repaint is to change the whole gas tank which is $1200. The fuel tank is on backorder so obviously others have had issues with it.

I purchased my 2013 Honda in 2019. Already it is showing that it has a fuel rail pressure sensor problem that could potentially cause a fire. While driving on the freeway the car lost acceleration. Now it can only be driven 40mph or less. I received a printout that determined this diagnosis and stated that there was a recall for this problem. I notified Honda and they said that there was no recall. Could you please help me to confirm the truth?

While trying to diagnose the check engine light my mechanic noticed that the fuel tank has a crack at the top of the tank which leaks gasoline when filled up. This is the same issue that has been reported and recalled for some other 2013 Accord but not ours. Honda needs to issue a recall for any vehicle that this is happening to. But as it currently stands they are not.

Upon start up, all the lights on the dashboard lit up. Fcw failure noted on the digital display. Acceleration non existent in this state. Several restarts (34 was the max), no lights on the dash. Car ran fine. Dealer diagnosed it as a timing chain that had expanded. Seems to be fixed. (only been two days). I think it is a major safety issue because the lack of power could manifest itself at any time. Imagine getting on a highway with no power to accelerate.

Two nights ago I was driving on I-75 back home from work, I was going speed limit 70-75 mph and the car suddenly started "bogging down", didn't want to go above 30 mph and a number of dash lights were on: Service engine, power steering, tire pressure and maybe traction control. I turn off the car, turn it back on, and the lights still on. I drive short distance home at 25-30 mph. The following morning I looked at the car, didn't see anything wrong I felted very unsafe from car suddenly slow in the middle of hwy I-75 going from 70-75 mph to 25-30 mph, this happened with out any warning or enough time to pull over the shoulder, definitely a bad accident would happened here.

When I start my vehicle, the engine turns on, but only stays on for a second or two before loosing power. The battery seems to be working perfectly fine as the lights and indicators are properly lit. The starter also cranks properly. The engine however turns on but doesn't stay O. this has happened to me multiple times and I have changed my car battery 3 times now as the dealership isn't unable to identify what the issue is and my battery keeps getting drained. The car is particularly susceptible to this issue in the mornings in colder temperatures (50 degrees or so as I live in southern California) after not being used overnight

My 2013 is at 38,000 miles and I smell fuel when the vehicle is being started. I show a recall for this issue but when I enter my VIN# it says my vehicle isn't in the recall. Something is going on and I think it needs looked into. If this is the same issue that caused the recall for some models, it's odd that it's also happening to mine but my vehicle isn't in the recall.

I have Honda Accord white ex-L since 11/10/2012 with current mileage of 16,300. 1. recently, I went to my mechanic to have air pressure checked on my car, since I was going for a long trip. While, air pressure was being checked, I left the car on in accessory mode for about 3 minutes. When I went on to turn the car on, it wouldn't turn on. Dash board lights, flickered at every attempt, when I tried turning on the car. My mechanic checked the battery, he said, battery is dead. I had the battery replaced. Once battery was replaced, mechanic checked alternator. He stated, alternator is not working properly. I told him, I will take the car to Honda dealer. This reminded me, that same thing happened on 7/4/2014, where I had left the hazard lights on and radio on at the same time in power mode for about 5 minutes. I called Honda care, 1st driver, couldn't jump start my car. 2nd driver came, and he was able to jump start my car. He stated battery was fine at that time. However, I just realized, my driver side window was taking lot longer to open and close than it should. With new battery, I will bring car to dealer to have the car checked. Also, since above instances, I turn off my headlights from auto mode, and also interior lights from dimming or turning off automatically to save battery from draining. 2. since I bought the car in November 2013, I have noticed that, I can hear fuel moving in the fuel tank. In my old 2000 Honda Accord, I never heard such a thing. 3. since 2012, I have gotten alignment done 3 times, but I still feel the vibration through out my car, and car feels like wobbling in the front. 4. not happy with mpg. In city, I get 9 to 11 mpg. Highway, it is just about 32 to 35 mpg as advertised and tested. 5. sometimes, when putting on the driver side seat belt, it gets stuck. I have to retract it and than I am able to secure it in seat belt clip.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, a fuel odor was noticed. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that fuel was leaking. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank line was leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13V297000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was 35,829.
