The headlights on my 2015 Sierra are horrible and do not illuminate well enough to provide for safe driving at night. Also, there is virtually no side illumination which makes turning corners dangerous.

On the night of 11/04/2016 we almost hit a person that was not visible to us because of inadequate factory headlights on all GMC 1500 trucks. We have had our truck in for warranty complaint on these light, and after 3 dealers in 3 different state the fix they use does not correct the problem. And now GM customer relations E- mail me and state they have done all they can do and closes our claim. NHTSA needs to look in to this asap before some one is killed, I am now afraid to drive this truck after dark

Headlights: You can not drive this truck after dark because the headlights are unsafe. When on low beam there is a black spot from about 3 feet up and there is no side light. This makes it imposable to see curbs, street signs, stop signs, humans and animals on the side of the road street or highway

I am in receipt of the paperwork concerning the above claimed for my vehicle. The paperwork in my possession clearly states that farmers insurance has made me aware that my vehicle 'has been determined to be a total loss'. I am concerned about these findings since it seemed my vehicle only suffered minor damages to the exterior only. Airbags where not deployed nor any windows shattered. I am also in receipt of the paperwork concerning my claim and determining I am 51% at fault towards the accident. I clearly gave my side of the story to the police office that my steering wheel had locked and I was unable to maneuver the vehicle. I was not under the influence of any drugs so I feel mechanical failure should be assessed. Supplemental information was also sent to me where it clearly states recall notices for my vehicle. Recall notice NHTSA campaign id # 14V719000, dated by the manufacturer November 10, 2014 states a recall notice naming the steering as the component needing to be replaced. I never received any information from the manufacturer GMC/Chevrolet concerning this matter. Upon review of this letter, please also take into consideration the recalls that you have provided me and reconsider pursuing of subrogation from a third party, I.e. GMC/Chevrolet manufacturer.

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck, purchased new in February 2015. As soon as I drove the vehicle at night, I noticed that the headlights were very dim on both low beam and high beam. After researching the problem on the internet, I found a GM technical service bulletin (#pit5374), which instructs the tech to replace both headlight bulbs, and to increase voltage to the headlights via the body control module. I had the dealer perform this tsb in June of 2015, but since the upgrade, the performance of the headlights is only slightly better. The truck is uncomfortable to drive at night, and especially dangerous to drive at night in the rain. In addition, one of the new headlight bulbs blew last week, but the GMC dealer replaced it under warranty once he located a bulb at another dealership in town.

The headlights on the vehicle fail to provide an adequate lateral view of the highway at night making it nearly impossible to see anything that might be moving in to the driver's path from the left or night sides. Lateral view of the highway is not improved when changing from low beam to high beam or vice versa. The only way to cast any lateral light to the sides of the highway is to utilize the fog lamps which can only be activated while using the low beam. The lack of adequate lateral lighting makes night driving extremely unsafe and nearly impossible to look for animals or humans that might be stepping in front of the driver. The issue has been ongoing since the time the vehicle was leased.

I purchased this vehicle in June of 2015. The headlights in this vehicle are absolutely terrible and extremely unsafe. Night time driving is very difficult and unnerving because the headlight performance is so poor. If driving at night and it starts raining, forget it. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer a half dozen times and they performed 1tsb which made almost no noticeable difference.

Headlights on new 2015 GMC Sierra denali 1500 truck inadequate - poor lighting pattern in dark driving conditions - unacceptable and dangerous. Dealership denied issue, then stated manufacturer recommends redirecting lights down toward road. This adjustment didn't resolve the dim lighting issue. I suggested paying out of pocket to replace headlights - dealership laughed and said that would void the warranty. These dim headlights are dangerous.

The headlights on my 2015 GMC Sierra slt are by far the worst headlights I have ever experienced in the many vehicles that I have driven over the last 30 years. How they passed whatever safety standards there are set in place is beyond me. They do not provide a wide enough beam to see around turns or wildlife that may be on the side of the roadway nor do they light up enough of the road in distance to see anything at all beyond approximately 50 feet while travelling in the dark. This vehicle is unsafe to be driven at any speed during the dark. Sadly the high beams are completely useless as well. There is more light output with the low beams on in conjunction with the fog lights (which isn't saying much) than there is with the high beams on. Driving is the rain is even worse. You cannot even tell that the headlights are on that's how bad they are. I have complained several times to two different dealers and GM directly and was told "that's just how they are and there is nothing that can be done about them". I was given a 2016 Sierra as a loaner vehicle while I had my vehicle in for this and several other issues and the headlights on the 2016 vehicle they loaned me are a big improvement over the 2014-15 lights. GM should be forced to recall all 2014-15 Sierra due to these severely hazardous headlights and forced to install the lights that come on the 2016-17 Sierra.

Headlights do not give off enough light. They don't light the road far enough ahead and are bad off to the sides. It's hard to see objects in the road and hard to see streets you are turning on. I have almost hit deer and have missed turns on rural roads.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving various speeds, the contact's visibility was diminished because the low and high beam headlights failed to fully illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on numerous occasions where the head lamps were readjusted and the light bulbs replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 0.

I previously sent in a compliant on this matter several months ago. The headlights are poor. This is a dangerous condition, they do not project out significantly and the side illumination is nonexistent. I found out on my own that their is a service bulletin on this matter. I took my vehicle back to the dealer, who changed the light bulbs, the improvement is marginal at best. I am extremely cautious if I need to drive the vehicle at night. This is a dangerous condition.

The headlights on these trucks are dim to the point of being dangerous. I've had the dealer update performed, and have even tried aftermarket bulbs, to no avail. I am going to have to trade it in I'm afraid as I do not feel safe driving it after dark. GM really dropped the ball on this design, and have left thousands of owners "in the dark".

Headlights are dangerous! they produce a very narrow straight ahead light pattern. We live where there are a lot of deer and you can't see them on the side of the road. Any curve in the road and you're blind till you get around it. On a aiming board they produce a narrow vertical band of light, if you mark the horizon you find that half the light is shing up in the air. (they light up the tops of trees real nice) because of the 1 bulb design if you adjust them down to get the high beams on the horizon the low beams will only illuminate about 20 feet out. It is just not safe driving this truck in the country at night. GM tried a brighter bulb but the improvement was very minor. The problem is the lense and shutter design.

The headlights on my 2015 GMC Sierra are dangerous. They do not produce a sufficient amount of light to cover the driving area. While driving at night the sides of the road are not visible nor are what lies ahead if any curvature is involved. It is to the point where I try to avoid driving it at night. The ones who do not complain either live in town where street lights are present to assist with lighting or they are not driving at night.

The headlights are dangerous! low beams with fog lights on are adequate for <45 mph. Anything faster and you can't see far enough ahead. Forget using the high beams. On dimly lit highways, you can't see in front on the vehicle. The high beams don't illuminate the road so it's safer to use the low beams and hope the 100ft visibility will allow you to slow slightly before killing whatever human/animal/obstacle presents itself. This truck is too dangerous for my family without a retrofit.

Bought a new 2015 Sierra in Jan 2016, after I bought it I drove from new brunswick to manitoba and it was the scariest night drive I have ever had (over 30 years of experience )the low beams were dim and had no useful light pattern, and high beam just lit up the tops of trees and signs, driving through Ontario's twisty hwy.I almost went off the road many times, due to the poor lights you will corner with out being able to see till your straight and the light hits the road again. When I arrived in manitoba I took the truck to a dealership, where they replaced my bulbs, flashed the BCM and a lined the lights the light is a little better but still not safe as they still don't project much light pattern. I can't see street signs only the bottom of the poles. And highs still point to the sky with no more road light. Returned to new brunswick and brought it to the dealership to have it looked at again, and the suggest the same fix as what the manitoba dealer just did. Still cannot drive safe at night.
