The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving approximately 65 mph, the service stabilitrac warning indicator illuminated, the door locks activated independently, and the power steering failed. Additionally, the vehicle independently turned off and on within a few seconds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 88,124.

I've always liked your GMC trucks but mostly been a Ford owner so this December I bought a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 with 98,000 miles... really love the truck but then start by having problems.. first my passenger window wouldn't roll down all the way..got that fixed..then my rear drivers door lock don't work..and the big one my ac condenser has a leak ($1500 fix)which supposedly is a common problem with this vehicle..which I'm just so dissatisfied..I would really appreciated to have these problems fix for free!!! for I am regretting going GMC.

Driving vehicle at a low speed into a parking lot, when suddenly and without warning, it completely shut off. No power whatsoever, unable to put on hazard lights. Disconnected battery neutral and hot for about 10-15 min. Reconnected and it started back up. There was a dashboard message to roll driving window up and down. This has happened in the past, but only when starting, never while in drive and in forward motion! in the past I had it diagnosed for the no crank no start and for $400 I updated the BCM. Typically, with no crank no start, I would disconnect battery neutral for 10 minutes, reconnect and start up slowly, ie: Turn ignition to on, wait 1 min then crank it to start. I have accepted the occasional no crank no start, but the idea that this happened in drive is unacceptable and incredibly dangerous!

All happened same day. Was 8 hours from home and pulling into parking spot and the brakes went to the floor 3 times. Has not occurred since. But when that happened the air started blowing warm and the service driver assist came on briefly. Still air is blowing warm and the service driver assist comes on. Have never had a check engine light come on. I am having it checked out this week.

I was driving on the interstate and a message stating "service stabilitrack" message appears simultaneously with the check engine light and service traction control, the car loses the ability to accelerate and maintain speed. I kept driving because there was no safe place to stop, and after a few miles the door locks unlocked then locked, the info screen flashed and then the engine revved and appeared to drive normally. Several miles later it happened again, over and over. When I reached my nieghborhood the car completely powered off.

I wait till truck is stooped and try wigging key and make sure gearshift is in right position. After a few min lights come on the dash and the truck will start back up. It says in the notification area in dash let driver side window down and up again. This has happen twice and both times I was on a interstate almost hit by cars behind me. I was driving about 65 mph going straight most time it would do this if I change lanes.

My 2014 GMC Sierra shuts off while driving on the interstate with my family. In some cases all electrical blinks and it continues to drive while temporarily losing power steering and other features and other times turning off completely until coming to a stop. The dealership wants ~$400 to do diagnostics on a G218 bolt that they were told by GMC that it is related to. This issue came from the factory this way. While not wanting to pay that for the diagnostic and researching myself, I found 100S of videos online similar to the one below which shows this issue happening to owners of the GMC trucks. When I spoke with GMC customer care about this, they told me that there were no recalls on the issue. There are going to be truck owners that lose their life along with any passengers if this issue is not taken care. I am very scare for our safety and the safety of countless others like the link below have posted about this known issue. The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the electronic power steering failed, which caused the steering wheel to jerk violently to the left when turning right. The dealer (wiers Chevrolet Cadillac GMC, 416 S halleck St, de motte, in 46310, (219) 987-5555) indicated that a software update would not provide a permanent remedy; therefore, the manufacturer approved the replacement of the electronic power steering assist. In addition, the vehicle failed to start and stalled several times without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

22014 Sierra 1500 4X4 has total loss of power at low speeds including power steering, brakes, dashboard and all other electrical items. 6th event of this nature. Most recent was on a downtown street in brighton mi. Trying to make a left turn and the power steering failed and the truck stalled. This is dangerous because it almost caused an accident. After being able to restart the truck we parked in a parking lot and once again a full power failure. It was restarted after 5-10 minutes but we need help with this issue. And so do a lot of other truck owners from the compaints we have read. We have had this truck in for the stability track recall. The day after they serviced the recall the truck started the electrical issues. We took it back to feldman Chevrolet but they just said to watch it. We are taking it back tomorrow. August 14, 2018.

While tapping the brakes, the vehicle's headlights will dim occasionally. 2 times now while tapping the brakes, the entire dashboard (including the touchscreen) turn off and restart. The first time was travelling on a highway and the second time was on my driveway, I applied the brakes and the entire car shut down, including the power steering, power brakes, and engine. That time I rolled out of my driveway and into the road. I was lucky no one was coming

While tapping the brakes, the vehicle's headlights will dim. Occasionally, while tapping the brakes, the entire dashboard (including the touchscreen) turn off and restart. On 6/18/18, while travelling on a highway at 40 miles an hour and approaching a red light, I applied the brakes and the entire car shut down, including the power steering, power brakes, and engine. I had to place the car into neutral and turn it back on in order to brake in time.

On making a turn at low speed, my engine has cut out completely. I had full loss of acceleration, power steering, ac, radio. I put the truck in neutral and restart the engine to get to safety. This has occurred 3 times in the last 20 days.twice in city traffic, once on the highway, turning off for gas. The "service steering assist" light appeared. I took the truck for a full diagnostic at a local electric repair shop, for $170. The tech found nothing after hooking my truck to his computer. The day I retrieved my truck from the electrical shop, I stopped in walmart for groceries. My key fob would not lock or unlock my doors. I manually unlocked the truck to determine that the truck would not start at all. No panel/ interior lights, no response in ignition, no automatic unlocking, the truck was completely dead. Roadside service came to tow it, and the truck was jumpstarted from his battery pack. The key fob began to work, unlocking, etc. I towed the truck home. I have VIN checked my truck and there are none but I believe my vehicular failure refers to GM part 573 safety recall 17V-414 regarding the loss of eps. A secondary recall which may apply is GM# 14V26000 re steering linkages, tie rod assembly.as the "steer assist' alert was what I saw. I have the work invoice from the electrical shop, if needed.

I temporarily had no control over the vehicle causing me to have an accident. While driving down a residential street approaching a stop sign intersection I merged into the center of St to pass a trashcan and in the process of returning to my correct position on the road I suddenly had no steering. Panicking from the loss I pressed my brakes an attempt to bring vehicle to a stop but was unsuccessful because the tires began a slide once noticing the traction loss I proceeded to release brakes and reapply in hopes of gaining traction the brief relief from brakes caused the vehicle to regain traction and while I still have no control over steering, the vehicle jerks towards the right side of the road and the brakes being reapplied the vehicle continues to slide off pavement making contact with stop sign and telephone pole.

During driving, the stability sensors would go off and show up stating stability turned off, or power steering turned off. The voltage on vehicle would suddenly drop from 15 to 9 and then back up. This will usually turn off the interior lights and electronics. I have discussed this with other 2014 Sierra and Silverado owners and they all advised this was occuring on their vehicles. There is a ground wire that was not properly installed under the dash which causes high resistance material to cause electrical issues. During one of my drives to work going 60 mph, the electrical components shut off and caused the engine to stop running. I was able to pull over while coasting on no power and restart the vehicle and it would continue to go. There have been times where the steering wheel would jerk while stationary as well. After many forum discussion this all related back to the ground wire not being properly installed by the manufacturer.

Several times while driving and making turns the vehicle completely died and all electronics went black. This caused a complete loss of steering and control while turning across traffic. The steering wheel would shake and jerk in the opposite direction as well. Once I came to a stop I would have to put it back in park and restart. I am very lucky that that there was no cross traffic in these moments, as this could have led to a major accident. The really frustrating part is that after I took it to the dealer they diagnosed and stated that it was a battery cable of some sort that was melting over the exhaust. This was published as a known problem within the company. However, not a recall or warranty (47,000 miles). How can a known design problem on a relatively new vehicle that causes a complete loss of control while driving not be a recall or safety violation of some sort? I hope this does not fall on deaf ears. Thank you
