Consumer received NHTSA recall 04V332000/manufacturer's recall 04S17 back in August. Had contacted dealership, and was informed parts be available in December. Checked with dealership, today, and parts were still not available.
Recall 04V332000, the protective spring shields to perform the front coil springs recall repairs was not available for 2 months, and the manufacturer didn't know when it will become available.
Spring guard recall. Campaign id number : 04V332000 the consumer stated that he experienced an unbalanced ride and he believed his vehicle should be apart of the recall.
The way that the dealership is inspecting the front coil springs is recall 04V332000, not adequate enough to detect a problem with the coil springs. They are only test driving the vehicle. Also the re enforcement shield will not be available until December 2004.
Recall 04V332000 concerning front coil spring. While the vehicle was being repaired for a transmission problem mechanic determined that both front springs broke and caused damages to both front wheel bearings failed. Ford dealer was contacted. Dealer informed consumer that they would repair the springs, but not the front wheel bearings. Consumer was concerned about the damages.
Recall 04V332000 was issued regarding front coil springs. Dealer stated parts will not be available until December 2004. Consumer was concerned that coil spring will fail while driving.
The driver's side coil spring ruptured. Two months later a recall notice was issued for that part, however, dealer insisted they could not replace the passenger side coil because it had not yet failed.
A recall for the front coil springs was issued. When the consumer called dealer to set up an appointment dealer informed the consumer that they could not look at the vehicle until the coil springs failed.
Consumer received a recall notice for Ford, Taurus 1999, and went to the dealer. Was told that the parts will not be available until December, 2004. Consumer believed this was dangerous, especially if there was a chance of a fatality.
Dealership was unable to perform the front coil spring recall 04V332000 repairs because the parts weren't available. The parts weren't going to be available to dealership for approximately a month to two months.
Recall 04V332000 concerning front coil springs. However, when consumer received the recall notice it was indicated that the parts will not be available until December, 2004. Consumer was afraid to drive the vehicle.
Ford Motor Co. Has issued letters with reference to possible front coil spring fracture / replacement for 1999 to 2001 Taurus and Sable vehicles. Ford Motor Co. Recording stated that the possibility of coil failure could impact the tire, thus causing a possible crash (their wording). Ford Motor Co. Will replace said coil spring(s) only upon failure. They have no formal pre-failure inspection. The dealerships will inspect your vehicle however, for a fee. Can Ford be held liable in the case of a crash directly related to this item failure and/or responsible for vehicle damages caused by item failure without a crash occurring?
Consumer received NHTSA a recall 04V332000 concerning front coil spring. Dealership still does not have the part to conduct repairs until December or January. Ford indicated to consumer nothing we can do, wait until December.
While backing out of the driveway consumer heard a snapping sound. Upon further examination consumer found that the coil spring broke and sliced the left tire.
While driving 35 mph front passenger coil spring cut into the tire, causing a blow out. Consumer pulled over and changed the tire. Dealership was notified and replaced the spring. The consumer request reimbursement.
