Ford Motor Co. Has issued letters with reference to possible front coil spring fracture / replacement for 1999 to 2001 Taurus and Sable vehicles. Ford Motor Co. Recording stated that the possibility of coil failure could impact the tire, thus causing a possible crash (their wording). Ford Motor Co. Will replace said coil spring(s) only upon failure. They have no formal pre-failure inspection. The dealerships will inspect your vehicle however, for a fee. Can Ford be held liable in the case of a crash directly related to this item failure and/or responsible for vehicle damages caused by item failure without a crash occurring?
