Head gasket started to leak while consumer was driving, causing vehicle to be imoperative. NHTSA investigation # 1E 98 080. Dealer/ mfr notified and refused to repair unless cost goes to consumer.

Have discovered that a motor mount is broken. Notified the dealer, we were informed that it would cost over $300 to fix. A friend of ours has a 1992 Taurus with same problem, was fixed by dealer at no cost. Car has low mileage, in good condition, owner only put on 27,000 miles, mostly local mileage.
Consumer was told by an mechanic that thre are two different metals, and the frictions and contrast caused the aluminum metal to wear out and blow out the engine head gasket. Dealer has been contacted.
Recall on head gasket may result in engine overheating or engine failure, this failure has not yet occured and repair can not be done until failure is experienced due to recall guidelines.
Design of the engine is poor. Underneath the engine something pulls sand into the engine, and causes problems with the engine/transmission shakes when driving up to 75 mph. The dealer cannot duplicate the problem.
Defective engine mount broke, causing the engine to shift and break air conditioning line, which could possibly crack gasoline line, resulting in fire.dealer will replace part.
