While traveling at 60mph engine blewout, causing vehicle to stall, also almost everything was down, contacted dealer. Dealer stated there is a recall however consumer never received recall notice. Vehicle was 29 days over the 7 year warranty. Consumer is requesting reimbursement.
Got recall notice. Took vehicle to dealer to get recall repaired, but dealer would not honor recall notice. Consumer had already replaced the parts, except the circuit breaker, previously. Called dealer, and told about repairs. Dealer urged consumer to bring vehicle in anyway.

NHTSA recall 01-V-390-000/ manufacturer's recall 01S30 dealer was contacted 3 weeks ago to service recall but parts were not available. Consumer received a call on 22-Jan-02 to come in on 23-Jan-02, and was told parts were not in. Dealership Ford burts arapasoe, 10039 arapasoe rd, englewood, co. 80112. Phone number 3003-643-9000.
Vehicle is included in recall 01V390000/ manufacturer's recall 01S30; but dealer had no parts available. Dealer was notified and couldn't find a dealer nearest to consumer.
Recall 01 V 390 000/engine cooling fan: Vehicle expereinced an engine compartment fire while driving, local fire department arrived to extinguish fire. Dealer / manufacturer were not notified at that time. Consumer believed that above recall was the cause of fire. Feel free to provide any further information concerning this matter.
Electrically operated engine radiator coolant fan only comes on intermittently (short_cycles). Car gets hot. I'm forced to run the A/C whenever I'm driving to avoid engine coolant overheating. Running the A/C will make the fan run, but if I shut the A/C off, then the fan goes back to short cycling. I know others who have related the same story. The vehicle in the complaint was a recalled vehicle. However, when it was taken to local dealer for repair of the system we were told that there was no problem. Therefore, the affected part was not replaced. Now we own a vehicle with a cracked engine head that is going to coast a bundle to repair. After contacting the company we were told that the warranty was void. Therefore, Ford wasn't going to do anything. A defect is a defect which should be the responsibility of Ford. Recall 97V-019, cooling fan.
First week of ownership was no brake lights, and can't shift out of park. Problem was electric cooling fan motor. Then cruise would not shut off. Problem-brake wiring harness. Last major problem was rocker arm malfunctioned at 39,166 mi. Repair bill for that was $879.88.
Consumer experiencing problem of getting the dealer to honor manufacturer's recall 97S-66/NHTSA 97V-019 concerning engine cooling fan. Dealer informed consumer vehicle is not on recall.
Vehicle's cooling fan failed to operate, causing engine to overheat. Dealer repaired problem, but cosumer was charge a deduction for the repair. There is a NHTSA recall # 97V-019 on file, dealer informed vehicle was not under recall.
Owner received recall notice for engine cooling fan in March, contacted dealer and was told they had to order parts. Parts are still unavailable. Consumer has called dealer three times for parts. Recall#97V019000.
