Takata recall, it has been a year and five months since there was a "safety" recall issued for this vehicle, yet " Ford Motor Company understands that the vehicles involved in the recent takata recall are safe to drive while you are waiting for replacement parts." This is unacceptable. Either this is a safety issue or not. If the vehicle is "safe to drive, " then why have a recall? if it isn't safe, then seventeen months (and counting) is far too long to wait for a remedy.

Takata air bags: I was notified by Ford of my vehicle having dangerous airbags, which needed to be replaced at no charge. I have called my local Ford dealer, diehl Ford, in bellingham, wa several times. They have told me that I will receive notice by mail when the parts arrive. I was notified in March, 2017, and the time seems extreme. I am afraid of the risk this puts to me and my family.

Takata recall - in December of 2016, I contacted : orchid isle auto center, kona branch, 76-6319 kuakini highway, kailua-kona, Hawaii 96740, because of an airbag recall I received from takata in July of 2016 for my Ford Ranger. Attached is my email communications with orchid isle Ford, since then. In short, they have not replaced my airbag and I cannot sell my vehicle. Dear orchid isle, because our Ranger is almost 10 years old and in the past, you have suggested we sell it on our own, we have put out some feelers. Unfortunately, because of the faulty takata airbag, it has created a situation for us in selling this truck. Almost a year ago, I wrote to you after receiving the recall notice twice and called your service department, like you suggested. Unfortunately, they could not help us then and now, a year later, they still do not have the part. We received a notice of federal bankruptcy by takata, which says we are still supposed to receive a free airbag replacement by the Ford dealer that sold us the vehicle and if not, they have told me to file a complaint with NHTSA. Here is our dilemma. Our vehicle that is almost 10 years old, has only 40,000 miles on it. It looks like it just came out of the showroom and yet, we cannot sell it. We agree, we could probably pass it off to some unsuspecting buyer, but that would be unethical and we wouldn't even consider it. Can you please assist us with this airbag replacement? from: "wdlapish@aol.com" to: Rf4S7S_2222@yahoo.com sent: Monday, January 2, 2017 11:57 am subject: Re: hau'oli makahiki hou! aloha, christine just call our service dept, 326-5655, & they will take care of it. All the best for 2017 kona bill
Takata recall checked with two different Ford dealerships, they claims no parts are available, it has been 10 months since original notice of recall, it seems like if you don't purchase the Ranger from them they're no interested in re-placing the airbag.

I contacted the fremont Ford dealership (in fremont California) to inquire about getting our airbags replaced. They acknowledged that our truck does fall under the takata recall but they are not doing anything at this time and do not have or have had any replacement parts available, nor do they know if or when they will get them. The person I spoke with was a women who identified herself as margarita. I would like our airbag replaced but do not know how to proceed if my local Ford dealership is (what I perceive to be as) ignoring the recall.

Takata recall; I took vehicle to northtowne Lincoln Mercury dealership and they told me that Ford has issued a recall #16S26 for the airbag to be replaced but they have not issued any new parts to them and until they get replacement parts from takata there is nothing they can do for me except tell me just to keep driving the vehicle. I bought the vehicle used and as far as I know the airbag has never deployed. I have never wreck it.
